A protune even on a bone stock STI is worth it. Smooths out the power, and more reliable than the factory tune. I even got 35 more WHP from it too!

2015 Sti owner here. Picked it up with 50,000 miles back in September. It’s been very reliable so far, I’ve put 6,000 miles on it. I don’t plan on heavily modifying it because of my warranty, holding its value, and reliability. Since I’ve had it I’ve replaced a power steering rack and that’s supposedly pretty common to have them leak on the 2015 and 2016s. Exhaust is coming in the mail, I have plans for the cylinder 4 cooling mod, and and AOS for helping solve some known issues. I’ve researched turbo Subarus for 3 years after owning a 2011 Impreza for 3 years. I hope to put another 100,000 miles on it. I love it to death, and hope for many more memorable experiences with it. Nice STI you got, nice clean layout. Exterior plans are STI limited lip (small sti badge in front and center), powder coat the wheels gold (08-14 style wheels), match the front tint windows to the back, rear spats, exhaust, and mud flaps. Hope you keep it for a long time, I love Subarus to death too 🍻

@@JotaJotaSTI Most likely, you do not need an AOS. As long as your engine is healthy, you should see minimal oil moving through the PCV system, especially if you are just driving on the street....or am i wrong? can you please educate me on this. thanks

I just got a 2020 WRX Premium trim. My thoughts about the warranty are: how long are you going to keep the car, are the mods going to be obvious and noticeable if dealership maintenance is needed, and what are your goals with the car? Also, are you willing to bite the bullet for out of pocket costs of repairs if you lose the factory warranty? How good are your PM habits? How confident are you in knowing that this is YOUR car and if it brings you joy to modify it and make it match your personality and preferences then you reserve the right to make it awesome if you want to? Some things to think about (that I've been considering also).
      P.S.

cobb aos and iag street wont require a tune since they retain the pcv system and basically reroute the oil, however, an aos that vents to atmosphere like the iag competition will need a tune since it bypasses the pcv system on the car. only things that would require a tune on this list would be the headers, hope this helps!
