Steel rusts, that is why I prefer aluminum. Is there a steel trailer that is none rusting?

I have a 7x21 all aluminum cargo trailer been sitting on my side property for 3/ yrs soap and hot water and it’s like new can’t say the same for Steele and that’s why I didn’t get Steele plus aluminum is very light weight very easy to pull not to bad on the transmission.

Aluminium cracks over time time when the welds become brittle. Steel may be heavier but its more robust over the long term provided its had quality protective coatings. The debate around alu v steel is still active

On the fence here and honestly I'm hesitant to purchase anything out of Indiana. So many builders keep making the same crap under a different name.

Please reach out to us using our contact page: formulatrailers.com/contact/ - or we would advise connecting with a dealer nearest you using our dealer locator: formulatrailers.com/home/find-a-dealer/?zip - this would probably be your best options as we only sell directly to dealers. Thank you for reaching out. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any additional questions.

Aluminium has always been cheaper to buy. Why does it cost more for a Aluminium Trailer?
Aluminium material is cheaper than stell!!!!
    Aluminium won't rust!
    Steel rust.
Aluminium Trailer will last a lifetime.
Steel Trailer will not last a lifetime.

      Hey bill!
Alum tube is actually more expensive than steel in today's market. Alum trailers are more expensive to purchase than steel trailers because they resist rust, are easier to maintain, and last longer. They not only cost less in maintenance but they tend to keep a higher resale value too.
      Thanks!

Aluminum might be cheaper but a professional aluminum welder is not.

Aluminium is not as strong as steel. Plenty of online information around aluminium welds and cracking. Steel won't. As for rust if its been properly coated you won't have a problem

    • @problemslayer3538

@formulatrailers9442 what makes you say they last longer ? Wouldn't that come down to use ? A
I'd argue a well looked after steel trailer that had had a proper quality coating every couple of years will still be going along with alu
