Thank you Brian. The video is a big help. I have a pump that needs replacing and the cost of a new Comet 2527 is so high I am considering a used but different model that a previous owner says still works. Are the mounting flanges on all pumps built the same to fit exactly to the four bolt holes?
The engines have several mounting holes. They are universal. You may not use the exact same holes, but the flange will line up on a set and you may need different size bolts.
Hi brian.. my machine has low water pressure when we use it ..I already replaced the seal inside the pump.. I also detected that the regulator did not function as usually.. is there any percent that the regulator is the cause?
On a machine that’s is this old and obviously used quite heavily can I ask why you didn’t replace the key as this often gets worn due to shock loading when trigger is pulled, also I found it was best to use “Copper Slip” grease on the shaft when reassembling. 32 years of repairing machines, average about 25 machines a week. I have never had a machine come in with the key sheared. Not going to say it does not happen, just never been an issue with washers. There is no real "shock load" on a washer. When the trigger is pulled, the pressure from the pump does increase, but it isn't causing that much stress on the key. Wouldn't hurt to replace the key and to use anti seize.
Hello Brian, I’ve noticed a small shift between the pump and housing, kind of loose, don’t think this is normal. Can this be adjusted, how? The pump is fully functional. Thanks, Gilberto
Brian, do you recommend AR pump over AAA pump. I am buying after market washer and it has honda GX200 WITH AR pump. all dewalt one has AAA pump. Need your help pls.. yes CAT would be better, but i could find only AR
Hi Brian, i just got into pressure washing as a side gig. I have a Simpson 4400 psi machine that needs a new pump. Any idea where I can find replacements?! Thank you in advance.
@@Brian_the_repair_guy I replaces all the packing in the head. The three that go inside and the one on the brass ring that goes inside. I also replaced the plunger. The only one is didn’t replace is the low bearing o-ring that goes on the outside of the brass ring
@@markharris9055 did you use all of the seals in the kit? If not, use all the seals. If you did, then you may have damaged an O ring during installation
@@Brian_the_repair_guy I used all that it came with. The o rings you have to buy separately and there out of stock. But he did give me the size of the ring.
to remove sticking pump from engine use a bolt and on other side add a nut then simply tigthen it, ,that is how we do in automotive hub removal on siezed one..

Hello Brian
If I take a pic of my pump can you guide me to which packing kit and valve replacements I need for my pump?
I can try.

Check the 6 valves to make sure there is no small debris in the valves before you replace the unloader (pressure control)
Thx for this I was wondering about the set screw
Glad to help

Can I upgrade the pump on a Dewalt pressure washer dxpw4035 model I would like to put a bigger pump but don't know what I can use any suggestions
If the engine is a 13hp then you can put most commercially available pumps on this machine

Exactly where is this shift at? I am not clear on what you are referring to.

I prefer General, AR then Cat in that order.
@@Brian_the_repair_guy thanks I see AAA is junk
Do you have to drain the oil?
Can you be more specific with your question?

Sherwin William's can order pumps. If you have an issue figuring out which pump, let me know.
We talked a few weeks ago and you assist me in repairing my pressure washer. It’s running again but it leaks from the bottom?? Any insite
I can see it leaking around the ceramic plunger

That works, the casing on the pump is not very strong, I have had them push through the pump housing
Amigo tenho um motor Honda gx340 11 HP da pra colocar uma bomba de 4000psi?
sim, pode ser necessário ajustar o descarregador. quando o motor funciona muito, você precisa diminuir a pressão
