Replacing mine today. Glad I stumbled upon your video. Loo,s fairly straight forward. What did you find out about using a higher psi pump with your original motor? Thanks for a great video👍
@@ChadMyers73 yea maybe i feel it needs a overall because when i turn the red nub on it it doesn't make a difference its like it pure air coming through it
Ours is the honda engine. We paid about the same for ours, but I dont remember if it's a GC or GX. Got it on sale at sears a few years ago. I'd prolly do the same if my pump took a dive and the engine was still good.
Jumping from a 2400 psi to a 3000 psi pump is actually a big jump, and it’s only a 5 hp motor. 7 hp may be recommended if it’s above 2.7 GPM pump flow rate. I didn’t catch the flow rates, but that’s also an important metric. Work being done is a combination of pressure and flow rate. If it works, then just live with it, but yes you’re probably putting the engine under higher stress.
what did they ever say about the new higher psi pump bogging down the motor a bit? Also if you did it over again would you just put on a pump the same pressure as the old or still go with the 3000? thanks
Try this stuff on all your air and water connections and then you will throw all the half unwound rolls of teflon tape in the trash. Just a small bead around the male fitting and thread them together and use instantly. Yes it is $24 but you use so little of it, it will last years.www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HBGL14/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Can’t find that pump on the website? Bxd 2530

I have the same motor gc160 just worried not enough power to drive this pump , please advice thanks
I gave mine just a bit more bypass
Does the keyway have a little piece of metal that goes in the middle and on the pump
Yes there will be a piece of square stock maybe a 1/4” thick and a little over a inch long.
What model pump are you using and where do you get it from
Gary
I don’t think they are available anymore. But if you use the link in the description, it should give you suggested items as well.
Thank you

Yeah I was kind of a lateral move but I already had the engine.
@@ChadMyers73 as long as the move isn't backwards you're ok. What is that pump saver stuff?

did you ever change the pump oil ?
I'm sorry oil pump?
Did you mean change the oil in the old pump?
@@ChadMyers73 you know the engine oil and the pump oil are seperate. thats why you should change the pump oil every summer so it can last longer.
yes. did you change it every now and then ?
@@tripleooo9639 Yes sir thats right it was changed I'm tickled to death it lasted 15 years
