It's actually a technique we bass singers use to hold a specific ending of a word without losing the note during the vocal fry. It's nice to do because then you don't have to drop to a subharmonic or a growl and have as much air as possible

Yeah I dont think Tim has ever used subharmonics but Geoff is good with it
Yeah tim has never used subharmonics he mostly fry and growl
Honestly the difference between the two are negligible. You have to chest fry to even try to sing sub harmonic
What's the difference between subharmonics and fry? I understand fry when the gilly girls use it, but this is new (bass range).
Lynn Prince someone correct me if I’m wrong but vocal fry is when you pop your vocal folds together and subharmonic singing is when you vibrate your vocal fold along with your false folds. Basically you are vibrating your normal vocal chords and frying at the same time, which creates a fundamental frequency lower than the pitch you are singing. It is an extremely hard technique and often sounds very similar to vocal fry, but it sounds more open and full

I was waiting for a Johnny Cash song from Tim and Chance! You boys NAILED it! I have to admit my eyes went to Adam in this whole video!!! I think he looks natural in prison garb for some reason!!
Hee! There's something about Adam's eyes that can make him look a little intense sometimes (I love it--no complaints). Add to that intense look some wild hair and a prison jumpsuit and he definitely looks intimidating to me.
My dying wish will be to sing with these fellas. Fav group or band of all time. 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Austin becomes the human harmonica!❤️. Tim is rattling the rafters.❤️. The ensemble of superstars. Keep on keepin’ on guys!❤️
They never disappoint, love all their songs... Their cover of Ring of Fire was awesome so I'm sure they will do the same with another song by the Man in Black🙂
The talent ... oh my ... these boys are amazing.
And Austin did it again!! I knew you were gonna be making your moves! Always happy no matter what you sing. Tim that low notes, wow!! You guys can take on any song and make it your own. Adam, Rob, Tim, Chance, Austin, Keep it up guys!!
You have got it "Goin' On" Gents. Very nice, one and all . . . Yeah!!
Love the vocal Harmonica. Johnny is proud of that redition.
