Flat earthers made a video reacting to my flat earth video, criticizing my portrayal of sun rays as being parallel instead of divergent, and I believe they're right.. but I don’t think they have the full picture, and I think I can clarify things.
In this video, I’m going to walk through the differences between divergent rays and parallel rays. I’ll explain why I think these sun rays don’t disprove the globe earth model and why calling sun rays “divergent” can be incredibly misleading.

@@DataTime27 Some of them are passably polite, none of them are reasonable, at least none of the cult leaders. I guarantee Flatz will neither understand nor accept anything you say. He's already judged you a liar. Nothing you show will change his mind.
@@DataTime27 Be careful good Sir. This group you find yourself in is very tribal, and intensely dislikes anything that does not originate from within the accepted 'box of knowledge'.
I've found that many of them are polite if you're polite to them. Some science people are terrible towards them and I don't think that helps the situation
@@DataTime27They're normal polite people but they also won't change their mind even if you provide facts. There's already plenty of proof out there that they choose to ignore. They already buy into something disproven ages ago so why would they stop now.

I'd go as far to say the light from the sun is essentially Convergent considering its diameter.
That's true. I actually mention that it has an angular size of half a degree.
Given the service area of the sun, and light emitting in all directions from every point of the sun surface would there not be a sun sized area of parallel rays emitting in all directions?

I find it incredible hard to believe it myself, but I dated a flat earther for a while. Her biggest problem wasn't the shape of the earth, but the spitefulness towards modern society, blaming her problems on society, and she latched unto many conspiracy theories as a result of that. I hate the greed of megacorps like Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon and the corruption in my government, but why blame them for something they didn't cause? Say, if a car hits me, I'm not blaming car manufacturers for producing cars, I'm blaming the driver if they weren't paying attention, or myself if I was at fault.

If sun rays hitting all points on the Earth as you show in your graphic, then wouldn't all locations on earth experience 12 hour days?

Which is what his first two vids about this say.
Because of the tilt of earth's axis relative to the plane of the orbit, there are only 2 days in the year that have 12 hour days everywhere.
Otherwise the length of the day is dependent upon your location on earth and where the sun is over the earth at any particular day.
@@rickkwitkoski1976 I don't see how the Earths "tilt" could account for that. Even with tilt, the sun's rays still hit the rotating ball head-on don't they. That's what the graphic showed. There should be 12 hours of daylight in all places, tilt or not.

Don't give attention to flat earthers, the more the idea is out there the more anxiety ridden humans will attract to the idea of flat earth. Most people might be profiting from selling flat earth idea or are anxiety filled or want to have some uniqueness. I loved your other videos but i sense you are losing yourself in chasing clout. These people although have wrong ideas have about how things work shine light to various important things and make it harder for majority of people to not jump on hype train. At this point denying flat earthers of their belief would only make their belief stronger (it feels like bullying someone for their traditions like those of astrologies in beliving in cancer or aries).
Conclusion:- Let them be as long as they don't do any harm.
He currently focusing on trying to convince flat earther that earth isn't flat. We know their reasoning is bs most of the time but he want to play along with their rules.

I don't think that I'm bullying anyone. I get frustrated when I see globe earthers persecute flat earthers. But what I don't see a lot of are videos where people actually try to use the first earth model practically. I think if we actually tried to use the flat earth model we would see just how impractical it is.
@@butwhy4579 Technically it is. But some stuff need to be called for awareness purpose or simply for discussion. I wouldn't call this free publicity however. Academic and belief being discussed isn't free publicity.
For example,imagine there someone can believe in god for his whole life before meeting there atheist out there saying there is no god and give several reason. Some people might instantly belief it while some simply ignore and call it bs. But what need to be actually done is to discuss it. Then decision to believe the atheist statement or not is up to you.
This is I like about Data Time. He never disproof stuff by saying "its science" like most people did. He give elaboration of his reason. Agree or not with him is your decision.
Another example is "Doom is a great game" statement. For me personally, I dont enjoy doom myself. However, I have to agree that it indeed great game, it just not for me
