I confess to having been a flat-earther - just couldn't understand how people on the bottom of a globe won't fall off.

i saw some videos and first he is mostly memes channel second his video about debunking how far sun is was debunked by the people in the comments because he got the wrong angle even when copping someone else's design and here is disprove from reddit about the latest video of his:Here is the thing. You don't need to build lasers and worry about refraction. A few ideas that are much cheaper and easier to test.
One person travels to New Zealand. One travels to South Africa. The last travels to Chile. They look toward the edge of the earth at the same time, so in a flat earth model they are "looking in different directios. Check a star chart for when the southern cross is visible. Have them all look at the sky at the exact same moment and note that they all see the southern cross even though they are all looking in "different directions". Start trying to figure out how the southern cross appears on three parts of the dome at the same time in different places or conclude that they are all looking the same direction... south.
Charter an airplane. Fly the the "long way" from South America to either Africa or Australia. Measure speed, wind speeds, etc... all technologies easily available without having to design laser systems. Dictate the flight path of the pilot. See how long it takes to get there. Do simple mathematics and calculate the distance traveled. Realize that this does not fit the flat earth model. No go to the northern hemisphere and travel that exact distance and see how far you travel. You will soon realized that globes explain the shape of the planet. No lasers needed.
Don't like to fly? Do the same thing with a boat. It worked for all of the ancient sailors that wrote about the world being round and drew maps of a round Earth long before NASA and modern government conspiracies.
Go buy a reasonably expensive telescope. Look at the moon. Look at Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn with just a telescope. Nothing digital. Make the very obvious observation that those objects are spherical or at minimum with the moon since it is tidally locled that it is a half sphere. Debate whether it is more likely that the almighty creator of the universe made everything around us a sphere but decided you know I am going to make Earth flat or that Earth is a sphere too.
You don't need to go to space. You don't need to go build lasers. There are really easy ways using basic mathematics and observations to prove the Earth is round, which is why early Christians generally wrote about the world being round. Ancient Chinese wrote about it being round. Greeks and Romans wrote about it being round. On and on and on. Writings claiming a flat earth are much more rare in ancient texts than globe earth.
Another thing while you can say all I said is fake can you show evidence of not only where the moon in distance and if the video is wrong you watch how far the sun is or why you can't see lets say the Eiffel tower from America because according to the flat earth model you should be able because there is no curve to stop you and even if you say of there are mountains then why aren't you seeing only mountains at the end of your sight
and finally wtf do you mean by calling this science it was disproven by the people watching this fucking channel you linked
do the math on your own instead of making other do it for you without explaining how they did it
A level plane of reference is required to get an angle measurement of a celestial body. That's a flat Earth proof

I've been doing research on this, I believe it's due to light bending and not the earths curvature and you can prove it by zooming in with a camera on a sea boat and you can see the whole boat again

This video was really cool! I've always been interested by debunking flat Earthers (and other conspiracy theorists alike), having watched a lot of other videos about this topic from channels like SciManDan and Dave McKeegan, but this was definitely a refreshing one, especially thanks to the visual representations of what you're explaining. Can't wait for this series to continue!

PS, I'm very sorry because of the hostility you received from the flat Earthers you tried talking to. They're pretty much always like this - there aren't any scientifically provable counter-arguments that they can respond to your facts with, so they just rely on offense to "prove" their point

I KNOWN plenty of conspiracy theory my best is the WEF is trying to take over the World through the WHO. I find this is the most compelling based on overwhelming supporting evidence.
Be careful lumping all "conspiracy theorists" together. It's usually a good thing to maintain objective, unbiased thinking when searching for the truth. But yeah, this was a cool video.

I am just not getting that why you are not getting views which you deserve. Your editing is great, your story line is great, your animations are great and your videos and adds are creative and interesting as f***. I thing you should find the problem which is stopping you from getting the views which you deserve. From what I have observed is that your thumbnails and title are not as good or exciting as your videos are ,for example compare your current title for this vid to the thumbnail of your most popular vid or the thumbnail of big science based creators like Veritasium or Vsauce , You can see the simplicity (or another factor) of their most watched vid and try adding that factor to your thumbnail or title. Btw your videos are great, I am hopping that one day your channel would blow up.
Thanks! I use an app that tells me what title will be most popular. I also tried hiring someone to make me a thumbnail but people didn't seem to like it much. I also tried reproducing the thumbnail of my most popular video. Nothing seems to really work 🤷

Here is another one:
On a flat Earth the sun must be circling over it at some constant height.
That means that the shadow of the tip of a stick planted in the ground should describe a circle.
In reality it never describes a circle, so no flat Earth!
Sorry dude, thats simply not true - you have to take into account Atmosplanic Lensing, Refraction and most importantly what most fail to take into account Perspective - to name only a few factors.
You are a flat earther whether you ever figure it out or not - thats just a fact. Believing something that a bunch of others BELIEVE in no logical way makes the belief true - ever.
And even if some can't seem to grasp it now - it won't matter in a few years when most of the people around you KNOW it's flat because they tested it themselves rather than believe some dudes on youtube... and then those who couldn't grasp it on their own will simply give into peer pressure and believe earth is flat anyway - because that's why most people believe things that they never test: 1) Someone showed them an image and they believed, or 2) Someone in a position of authority SAID SO, and they believed it, or 3) Popular Opinion - the majority believes it, so they believe it because they don't want to be left out.
The human race has become so pathetic that all it takes for most is one of those three reasons and they'll believe ANYTHING.

What gets me and i cant get over it.. is the gravity so strong it holds water to a ball but yet we can still drink out of a straw and fly. thats what i can not for the life of me comprehend... Again not a flat earther but not being able to travel to the stars because cant leave the planet i am not down with.. so i would need to see some undeniable evidence. And hard to believe anyone now days
The net force of gravitation is a function of the masses of two objects. Birds require a small amount of force to overcome the force of gravity, whereas a large rocket ship requires tremendous thrust to do the same.
My favorite proof a round earth is that you can't have sunrise/sunset and time zones (how the earth is partially illuminated) at the same time. You can have one or the other, but not both. And keeping time zones sensible gets hairy in the northern summer.
My second favorite it the Foucault pendulum. It rotates at the rate of 1/(day*sin(latitude)) on a global and 1/day on a flat earth.

Many people already know that they are wrong about that topic - all globe arguments are just as week as this one is - and sadly many people don't even care as long as someone provides them Confirmation Bias.
Go out and test the globe yourself - attempt to EMPIRICALLY prove the radius of 3959 miles or that earth is moving in four different and varying linear paths at once - I dare you. Don't prove it to anyone but yourself - if you try that then you'll see very quickly why there are many hundreds of millions of people who no longer believe the official story on Cosmology - and this truth is growing faster than any other truth out there - and more-so each and every year, despite all the ccennsorshiip trying to hide it.
It would be a lot better if you were to labeled is showing that the world is Globe and 0:02 not flat.
Labeling it, as you have makes it seem as if there is a controversy when there is none.

The measurements you get can ONLY work on a GLOBE.
Any TWO points could be a flat earth. But THREE or MORE will ONLY work on a globe.

@@lordly123Correct, a shere is not round, a shere is sherical an orb. Round is a 2 dimensional descriptor and cannot be used to describe 3 dimensional objects. The point of the video is using shadows to prove the earth flat or round. Problem with that is round and flat are not mutually exclusive, therefore that shadow theory doesn't prove anything. A shadow can prove round vs sguare but cannot prove an orb (sherical) vs flatness because the shadow of a shere appears as a flat, round 2 dimensional form. The only thing a shadow will prove is a circle is not a square.
