Hi Avreil. Great question! In general, the APP hotkeys on our remotes are not programmable. Instead, they are set to automatically work with the APP key or keys your programmed TV/device prioritizes as first, second, etc. For example, if the TV you have programmed into the remote prioritizes Netflix, then the APP or APP 1 hotkey will take you to Netflix. If your remote has two APP hotkeys and your TV prioritizes Netflix first and then RUclips, then press APP1 for Netflix and APP2 for RUclips. Should you have any additional questions, please call our U.S.-based Consumer Care at 1-844-816-0320, 7AM-8PM, M-F, Central Time. They'll be happy to assist you.
Hi. Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you're experiencing partial code functionality. Simply stated, your remote is using a code that only controls some of your device’s functions. Device manufacturers will reuse portions of their codes with alternate models, so there’s most likely another code stored in your remote that will provide better functionality. To locate it, try reprogramming the remote using each of the other codes for your TV as noted in the code list for Direct Code Entry programming (shown at the link below) or continue on with the Auto Code Search method until you find a code that works properly. Hi, Jerry. Thanks for the feedback. Step four refers to pointing the remote at the TV and pressing the power button as shown at 0:27. If you know the model number of your remote, we can provide the correct user's manual. However, the manual at byjasco.com/media/manuals/SRP9368D_27-EnSp-Manual-v3.pdf also provides instructions for programming a Philips universal remote. My universal remote control light doesn't stop blinking! It's not allowing me to even press and hold the setup button and do the code programming because it simply won't stop blinking. I've changed batteries, still blinking. Put slightly used ones, won't even blink once. Any advice? It is driving me insane because it won't stop blinking!!
Hi Brenda. Thanks for reaching out. The auto code search method does make the light blink a lot as it scans through multiple groups of codes. However, at some point, the blinking should stop. If you're still having issues with the remote, I'd recommend removing the batteries for more than 10 minutes and then reinstalling them, making sure they're the newer batteries. You can also try returning the remote to factory settings by doing the following: 1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red light stays on, then release it. The red light will remain on. 2. Press and release the MUTE button. 3. Press and release 0 (zero). The red light will blink twice. At this point, I'd recommend you try programming your remote using the direct code entry method shown here: ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html If you no longer have the code list that came with your remote, you can look up the codes online here: byjasco.com/universal-remote-codes You’re also welcome to give our U.S.-based Consumer Care team a call at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM, Central Time. They’ll be happy to walk you through the programming process step by step and help you troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the process.

Hi Mark, Thanks for contacting us. The "setup" key is standard on all of our current Philips TV remotes. Sometimes the "setup" key is pretty small, depending on which Philips remote you have. If you've not already done so, check the manual that came with your remote. It should point out the location of the "setup" key. If you're still not finding it or need additional assistance, please call our U.S.-based Consumer Care at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM, Central Time. They'll be happy to help you.
Hi. I'm not sure which specific universal remote you're referring to, but various Philips universal remotes can be found at retailers, such as Amazon, Target, Best Buy and byJasco.com. If you have other questions regarding Philips universal remotes, please call our U.S.-based Consumer Care at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM Central Time.
I put the batteries in and the red light went on right away. None of the directions here did anything. The light just remains lit constantly with no blinking as I follow these directions. My device is probably defective?
Hi Eddie. Thanks for letting us know. I'm sorry your remote isn't working properly. If you've not already done so, please try resetting your remote to factory settings using the following steps: 1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red light stays on, then release it. The red light will remain on. 2. Press and release the MUTE button. 3. Press and release 0 (zero). The red light will blink twice and turn off. Your remote is now reset to factory settings. Please try programming your remote following the steps in the video or the steps in the Direct Code Entry video shown here: ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html. The Direct Code Entry method requires the Code List that came with your remote. If you no longer have it, you can look up the codes online at byjasco.com/remotecodes. If your remote is still not working as expected or you would like free technical assistance, please call our U.S.-based Consumer Care at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, and we'll be happy to assist you.
Hi Sammy! While the instructions in the video will work with any Philips universal remote, the remote we used is the Philips 6-Device Bluetooth Programmable Universal Remote (SRP2017B/27). It can be programmed as shown above or you can download the free MyTouchSmart Remote Control app to your iOS or Android device and use the app to program it, which makes programming the remote even easier. The app also has a Find-it feature that helps you find your remote if it happens to get lost between the couch cushions or elsewhere within a certain radius. When the Find-it feature is activated from your smartphone, the remote will beep until it's found. Aside from the effortless programming, it's one of my favorite features about this remote. Should you have any additional questions, feel free to contact our U.S.-based Consumer Care at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM Central Time. Have a great day!
HELP! - I watched this one, but it does not show how to program the remote that I just got. - Roku TV Replacement Remote Control by Philips, Works with Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, Sling, Apple TV, Video, IR Remote Control, Black, SRP6220R/27
Hi Ella. Thanks for reaching out. The remote you have comes already programmed to operate your Roku-enabled TV, so no programming is required. However, if you have an Insignia or Sharp Roku-enabled TV, your remote might need additional programming. If you have one of those TV brands, please consult the Code List and instruction manual that came with your replacement remote. If you need to reset the remote to factory settings so you can start fresh, press and hold the SETUP button until the red light on the remote stays on. Then, press the REWIND button four times. The red light will blink twice. Your remote is now reset to factory settings. I hope this helps. If you have additional questions or need further assistance with this, please call our U.S.-based Consumer Care at 1-844-816-0320, 7AM-8PM, M-F, Central Time. They'll be happy to help.
Hi Durand. Your Philips universal remote comes preprogrammed for use with Samsung TVs, so if you have a Samsung TV, simply insert fresh batteries, making sure to match the polarity as noted in the battery compartment, and press the remote's POWER button. If your TV is a different brand and doesn't have an ON/OFF button to start the Auto Code Search programming process, the best way to program your remote is to use the Direct Code Entry method seen here: ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html and noted in the manual that came with your remote. If you no longer have the Code List that came with your remote, you can look up the device codes here: byjasco.com/universal-remote-codes. If you have additional questions or would like one of our U.S.-based Consumer Care team members to walk you through the programming process step by step, please give us a call at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM Central Time. They'll be happy to assist you.
Hi Jonathan. Sometimes it may take a while for the auto code search to find the correct code. For a quicker alternative, try using the Direct Code Entry method shown here: ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html If you no longer have the code list that came with your remote, you can find your device codes here: byjasco.com/universal-remote-codes If you have any additional questions, please feel free to call our U.S.-based Consumer Care team at 1-844-816-0320, 7AM-8PM, M-F, Central Time. Hi! There are many codes for LG TVs, but there are no 5-digit codes. I've noted the LG TV 4-digit codes below. When programming your remote using the Direct Code Entry method shown here (ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html), simply start with the first code and work your way through the list until you find the best code for your device. Inside your remote's battery compartment, there should be a printed label that includes a CL3, CL4 or CL5 marking to let you know which LG TV code list to follow. CL4 & CL5 LG TV codes: 6021, 0001, 5511, 3001, 1911, 1181, 1221 CL3 LG TV codes: 0001, 5511, 3001, 5501, 3021, 3091, 3221, 3281, 3311, 5271, 0131, 0251, 0611, 0761, 0931, 1181, 1221, 1471, 1501, 1911, 3811, 4731 For future reference, you can lookup device codes online here: byjasco.com/universal-remote-codes If you have any additional questions, please call our U.S.-based Consumer Care team a call at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM, Central Time. They'll be happy to assist you. I hope this information is helpful to you!
Hi! The auto code search method cycles through the codes built into the remote until it finds the best one for your device. Once the remote is programmed, if you'd like to identify which four-digit code it's using, you can follow the steps below: 1. Press and hold the SETUP button until remote's red light turns on. 2. Press and release the device button for the code you seek. 3. Press and release the ENTER button. 4. Press and release the "1" button and count how many times the red light blinks. That will be the first digit of the device's code. Repeat this step three more times using "2," then "3," and then "4" to retrieve the remaining second, third and fourth digits in the code. 5. Press and release the ENTER button to exit this mode. If the auto code search method is taking too long, as sometimes it can be a lengthy process, you may want to try programming your remote using the direct code entry method shown here: ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html. For this method, you'll need to look up and test the individual codes for your device. The codes can be found in the code list that came with your remote or through our online lookup tool at: byjasco.com/urccodes. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call our U.S.-based Consumer Care at 1-844-816-0320, and we'll be happy to assist you.

Hi. Step 4 is shown at the 0:30 mark: Point the remote at the device, then press and release the power button. The red light will blink and then remain on after cycling through 10 codes. After you complete this step, if your device doesn't turn off, repeat this step to have it cycle through the next 10 codes. It may need to cycle through a lot of codes, so a quicker method of programming your remote is the Direct Code Entry method shown here: ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html The online code list can be found here: byjasco.com/urccodes If you have additional questions, please call our U.S.-based Consumer Care at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM Central Time, and we'll be happy to assist you.
Why is all the online info not helping. Hours of reading and pressing and after this video still nothing. I have a 2008 Philip's universal remote with a Dynex tv.
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry this has been a frustrating process. If you've not already done so, I encourage you to try programming your remote using the Direct Code Entry method (see link below). When going through the process, please make sure you're pointing the remote's infrared light at the device you're wanting to program. There should a direct line-of-sight path between your remote and the device. Direct Code Entry Method: ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html There are five codes for Dynex TVs. Simply start with the first one and then go to the next until you find one that works the best for your particular TV. For your convenience, I’ve included the codes here: Dynex TV Codes: 3141, 5311, 3161, 0371, 2891 You’re also welcome to give our U.S.-based Consumer Care team a call at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM, Central Time. How can I use the remote control the youtube app and netflix on my tv
If your remote has two APP hotkeys and your TV prioritizes Netflix first and then RUclips, then press APP1 for Netflix and APP2 for RUclips.

what do you do if it only works to control volume after this?

You can also try returning the remote to factory settings by doing the following:
1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red light stays on, then release it. The red light will remain on.
2. Press and release the MUTE button.
3. Press and release 0 (zero). The red light will blink twice.
At this point, I'd recommend you try programming your remote using the direct code entry method shown here: ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html
If you no longer have the code list that came with your remote, you can look up the codes online here: byjasco.com/universal-remote-codes

My Philips Universal remote does not have a "setup" key. What alternate key do I use?
Hi Mark,
Thanks for contacting us. The "setup" key is standard on all of our current Philips TV remotes. Sometimes the "setup" key is pretty small, depending on which Philips remote you have.
If you've not already done so, please try resetting your remote to factory settings using the following steps:

Which remote is this? The model number? I need one of these remotes for my Phillips tv.
HOw do you get it to turn on even if you can't turn on your tv
About how long does it take to find a code?
Hi Jonathan.
Sometimes it may take a while for the auto code search to find the correct code. For a quicker alternative, try using the Direct Code Entry method shown here:

What’s the code for the 5 digit LG?
CL4 & CL5 LG TV codes:
6021, 0001, 5511, 3001, 1911, 1181, 1221
CL3 LG TV codes:
0001, 5511, 3001, 5501, 3021, 3091, 3221, 3281, 3311, 5271, 0131, 0251, 0611, 0761, 0931, 1181, 1221, 1471, 1501, 1911, 3811, 4731
For future reference, you can lookup device codes online here: byjasco.com/universal-remote-codes
If you have any additional questions, please call our U.S.-based Consumer Care team a call at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM, Central Time. They'll be happy to assist you.
I hope this information is helpful to you!
How do you get the code
Hi!
The auto code search method cycles through the codes built into the remote until it finds the best one for your device. Once the remote is programmed, if you'd like to identify which four-digit code it's using, you can follow the steps below:
If the auto code search method is taking too long, as sometimes it can be a lengthy process, you may want to try programming your remote using the direct code entry method shown here:
ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html.

Put in TV code from list in remote box (4 digits)

Wait what's step four again???
Hi.
Step 4 is shown at the 0:30 mark: Point the remote at the device, then press and release the power button. The red light will blink and then remain on after cycling through 10 codes. After you complete this step, if your device doesn't turn off, repeat this step to have it cycle through the next 10 codes.
It may need to cycle through a lot of codes, so a quicker method of programming your remote is the Direct Code Entry method shown here: ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html
The online code list can be found here: byjasco.com/urccodes
If you have additional questions, please call our U.S.-based Consumer Care at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM Central Time, and we'll be happy to assist you.
Direct Code Entry Method: ruclips.net/video/Z_4yKJk5i30/видео.html
There are five codes for Dynex TVs. Simply start with the first one and then go to the next until you find one that works the best for your particular TV. For your convenience, I’ve included the codes here:
Dynex TV Codes: 3141, 5311, 3161, 0371, 2891
You’re also welcome to give our U.S.-based Consumer Care team a call at 1-844-816-0320, M-F, 7AM-8PM, Central Time. They're here to help, and they'll be happy to walk you through the programming process step by step and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the process.
I hope this information is helpful to you!
