Steve Morse: "Speed isn't everything", yes, his sound, tone, and ways to play is nothing alike, like he is drawing a power from the nature You can see "twilight sky, far fetch ocean, swarm of birds flying over the sky, aurora on the mountain summit" from his solo section
So sad that he just left DP (23/07/2022), after almost 30 years in the band, under so difficult circumstances. Hope his wife gets well soon. I can't believe that we won't see him performing with the guys again! He will be missed so much! Thank you for all these years and memories, Steve! 🥺🥺🥺
30 years!!! How time flies. Steve said he wanted to be the last guitar player for Deep Purple. I wonder if he will be. What an absolute monster of a musician.
@@beachcomber4141, i remember him telling that he wanted to be the last DP guitarist but "reality intervenes", as Steve Morse stated in his announcement. 🥺🥺🥺
Amazing musician, first time I heard him is when I bought a vinyl copy of unsung heroes with the Dixie Dregs, have enjoyed His music ever since , no one like Him!!
24 years have passed since that evening at the Idroscalo in Milan, when I still listen to this man and his performance today I feel exactly like I did then and I was 20 years old. there are no words to describe this thing, I just know that it makes me feel so good to listen. I love you Steve
Flash back to 2013 my brother show me this video and i love the music...And again i came back in 2023 just to listen this music and i miss it already love u steve moore❤
This was the first ‘guitar solo’ I ever heard and what has followed has been the most amazing journey so far.. 20 years and counting. Thanks for everything Steve ❤
Holy cow... I've seen him play live like 4 times now- but this just blows everything else away. Steve Morse is to guitar solos what Neil Peart is to drum solos- not necessarily the world's fastest player, but no one comes close to his skill or versatility or musicianship. What a great video!
My brother passed away 16 years ago I love Deep Purple because of him. He introduced me to Deep Purple (I was 14 yrs younger than him). When he passed all I wanted to do was to listen to this tune why I cried. I swear I could feel his presence.
Стив тут молодой, яркий, полон сил для игры в новой для себя команде, на высоте. Как много разных техник он совместил в этом соло, сколько всего он пытался сказать. Спасибо Стив, благодаря тебе и полюбил и начал заниматься музыкой.

I really appreciate this video being posted. I had the chance to enjoy this very solo some months before Australia, at an open air stadium under a starred summer night. Absolutely incredible.
Uno de los solos más bellos de la historia de la música total. Tan exclusivo, tan propio, tan mágico...un vehículo que te lleva al amor y la unión cosmica
Steve the man ^^ . If he can't do it no one can \m/. One of my favo Guitarist ever, and what a damn fine solo he's putting on here ;) . Keep up the good work Steve ;) .
Saw that tour dave mason opened and he was superb, the last RR show at the sunrise musical theater fl, 1999 PURPLE WERE smokin the clarity of the sound system was fantastic great sound engineers perfect venue
Great Solo Great guitarist he,LL be sadly missed by Deep Purple.. As he did a Sterling Job.. Hope he gets some rest and his wife makes a Speedy recovery. Respect to the man, all best wish for health in future.
He plays like a bird singing. What stunning musicianship - Morse really showcases the versatility of the guitar. To the special person who let this bird out of her cage XX
Просто волшебство! Блэкмор и Морз два великих гитариста их нельзя сравнивать. Оба были одной из звёзд Deep Purple! Ими и останутся ! Жаль что он ушёл и DP.
oMG this is like the best solo ever!!! geniously made... indeed speed is not everything - this solo is so deep .. so developed! - I love especially the part starting at 5:35 - what is the effect used ther btw ? (long delay maybe? ) thanx for uploading this masterpiece!
Wow!!!! Moved my volume control gets in the way. might want to move it back. more control than foot pedal volume. Seems that way at least. Country-Bach-Rock. A great lesson for all the shreaders who think speed is everything. Whats the other toggle for?
One of the happiest moments of my life was watching this with my dad when I was a kid! Love you dad and thank you Steve!
Me too
me too.. somewhere in the night in 2002
Heaven in a solo. This is one of the best of all time.

One of the most underrated guitarists with god-level skills
One of the greatest guitar solos of all time IMHO.
without this solo. I wouldn't pick up the guitar, I wouldn't be a guitarist at all.

Steve is the best. He doesn't play, he sings by his quitar from his soul.

Not too often a guitar solo can bring tears to my eyes. Those chords dropped right down from Heaven. Doesn't get much more beautiful than that.

I still do sometimes. You ain't alone bud.
This solo literally changed my guitar playing. Not kidding.
Same here 🤘
How about Ritchie Blackmore?
@@abdulabdul2670 Long Gone .He had no interest in continuing with the band .
A rare guitarist who is way ahead of the other blues-based guys. He and Eric Johnson are from another planet!
Been listening to this since i was a kid It's 2020 and it's still amazing.
This solo is unique and special. It takes me to another dimension
Steve for me has always been that guitar player "I didn't think existed" Dixie Dregs and Steve Morse changed my life forever.
Eric Johnson is pretty similar. Although he's more country blues than metal.
One of the most unique and well rounded players you will ever hear.. he can play any style of music.
true
Very TRUE
ive never heard rock guitarist phrasing a solo like that, notes, chord movement, so mesmerizing.
Omg this is the best guitarrist ever! This solo of Total Abandon is what guitarrs are made for! He made it! he just.. Won!
What is there to say..... Steve is simply one of the best rock guitarist's EVER!!! Period!

He can make the guitar dance to his finger tips..
LITERALLY..
RESPECT TO THE LEGEND 🙌👏
He's actually expressed the whole "nature documentary series" by only using his finger and guitar

The ABandOn album is one of my "island" albums along with Perfect Strangers and Machine Head (although very fans are not fond of)
Best solo i've ever heard and seen since teenager .. tough i play shred, but morse is something
I loved that music when I was a kid
I vividly remember this solo from when I first started playing 15 years ago, monster

Sustained delay in the beginning, loop the last harmony, stop loop, change pedals and... Roll 😁
Long Live - Steve Morse..
ahhhh great!!!!
Unbelievable melodies from a guitar
Makes me miss the Dixie Dregs
FENOMENAL
Who knows Steve Morse only from Deep Purple doesn't actually know Steve Morse.
Awesome. I don't know how he did this magic. John Petrucci really got some inspiration from Steve. But Steve got more soul and heart here.
Amazing
Does anyone know what is this part at 5:30 ? This solo changed my life
Amazing Grace
This is the only solo that can stand up next to Andy Timmons' cry for you (live) and Camel - Ice. To me of course!
Listen to the solo of Marty Friedman in Tornado of souls.Simply untouchable

Wow. Very cool.
I used to listen to this all the time when I was baked
Did he inspire Trevor Rabin? They play similar types of solos. Beautiful with backing keyboard
