    Hi, I enjoyed your video, do you have info on how to work the grid beats and BPM for DDJ-RX controller? If so, please share the link.

    Question, do you still recommend the DDJ-RX (€500) or should i go for the DDJ 1000 (€1150)? Is the €650 extra worth it... Thanks!

      The DDJ-RX is a fine controller, and if you can get your hands on one in good condition, I would recommend it. On the other hand, if your budget allows it, the ddj-1000 offers a richer experience (jogs, effects...).... I will post my ddj-flx6 review soon and while it has it's flaws, at € 600 it's worth a closer look.

    Can you not go over what I would think should be the most fundamental part of using a controller.. beat matching. Can you demo beat matching on it? I have never used a master tempo before. I always matched by ear even with my CDJ-2000'ns I am thinking of buying one of these but I want to understand how the beat matching works on them as I have never used a Pioneer mixer that seems to allow the the players to match up automatically apparently.

      Interesting question, and yes I will consider doing a specific video on it. There is a lot to say on how DJ controllers work together with DJ software to make the job of beatmatching easier. However, in essence, there is nothing that prevents you from beatmatching by ear on a DJ controller. All the same controls are there, a pitch fader, a cue button, headphone controls to set the cue volume and mix in your headphones to your liking, a jog wheel that can be nudged much like a turntable platter.... All those extra features (sync, master tempo, waveforms, bpm indicators...) are tho assist DJ's that choose not to/can't/don't feel like beatmatching by ear, and you can choose to simply ignore them. All that being said, I like the idea of a video in which I go through the differences between a "traditional" DJ setup and a DJ controller setup so I might make one in the future. Thanks for your input.

      I wanted to get a small controller that I could travel with (on a plane). The next one down from this that Pioneer offers - the DDJ-RR seems adequate however I do not like the pitch fader being so limited. This is the only one among the next 2 up the line that seem to have a full size pitch fader. I am weary about getting the DDJ-RR as I do not know if I will like the pitch fader. The nearest DJ store to me didn't have much on display in the way of these controllers to see for myself. I own the Xone92 and sold my CDJ-2000 I REALLY want to buy two more CDJ-900 Nexus players simply because I want to continue using my Xone - but can't lug them on a plane very easily on long haul flights of course. It would be nice if Pioneer implemented a USB thumb drive on this controller with a display that is just enough ( but doesn't need to have wave forms etc) so that you could use this controller without a laptop. I LOVE the simplicity of a USB stick. I have the Pioneer 80-PRS car stereo head unit in my car and I love the fact that I can use it with USB stick (two at once) and a SD card. I'm just all about that simple plug in stick and go.

    Hello,
    I'm looking for some help and advice before I buy some extra equipment for my Pioneer setup. I'm already running Rekordbox with my Pioneer DDJ-RX, I'm looking to expand by adding 2 Pioneer XDJ-700 cdjs to this setup but I'm unsure whether this controller is supported by the product and I will be able to use the additional cdjs as decks 3 and 4. There won't be any overlap with Rekordbox from the controller or XDJ-700?
    Please could you help me further with this?
    Thanks in advance

      Hi Ryan,
      The XDJ-700 works fine with Rekordbox DJ and you can configure them to work as deck 3 and 4! Your question is very good and I might use it for a more detailed explanation on the site on how such a setup would work. Hope this helps. Cheers!

    Hey! Good review ☺
    I see u use it with a Mac. I have a late 2011 15 inches MacBook pro, i7 with 4 Gb ram. Do u think it could work with my mac?
    I'm asking because I've seen many people having problems with rekordbox....maybe they solved them with an update..? 😕
    Thank you for now!

      +Nyroh you should be fine. This controller doesnt need more. It only gets tricky if you are going for the top of the line ddj-rzx, that one needs 8gb of ram as a minimum! Thanks for the comment by the way :-)

    Hi, does Pioneer ddi rx work with Serato software just in case if i don't like the Record Box? i already have the serato. Thx

    • @Djtechzone
      @Djtechzone  6 лет назад

      No, Serato doesn't support the RX, or any other Rekordbox DJ controller.

    Does the controller come with a full-fledged copy of rekordbox DJ? Or some lite/le stuff? thanks.

    my brother says using the bpms and sync on my controller is cheating and if he ever catches me using them im dead :P would you count using them as cheating?

    • @Djtechzone
      @Djtechzone  7 лет назад +1

      It is good practice to learn how to mix without any help, so from time to time, cover up those bpm's on your screen with some tape and avoid your sync button and try to mix without it. You will see what a good feeling it gives being able to trust your ears 100%. But not being "allowed" to use sync or bpm's is total bullshit. These tools are there to help you to craft better mixes, and both are used by professional DJ's around the globe. By that logic, real drivers only should use manual gearboxes and real writers only should use... pen and paper :-)
