Joe, what an absolute treat to watch. FANTASTIC job on the editing matey, loads of info without being too detailed, very clear, clean and on point with your edits / audio etc. Top man! I do a bit of video editing myself for my channel, so I know exactly how long these things take to get looking polished. :)
This has solved many mysteries for me on the ddj-rz I recently picked up. It's not identical, but a majority of the buttons sections are the same and I could not find this kind of in-depth break down on the rz so this has been a really awesome find! You really went through every function and I am very grateful as having to google each little thing I want to know as I come across it has been painful at best. Not sure why their supposed "flagship" controller hasn't gotten this level of love (maybe between the size and the price, I picked it up because it was a great discount and personally I wanted a bigger unit, I like the full size cdj jogs and the nice roomy mixer layout as well as the added section for mic controls and headphone knobs on the face instead of the front edge). Thanks again for this great video!

This is an excellent review! It helped me decide to buy the DDJ RX over the DDJ SX2.
Brilliant review, i currently own the SX can see a few very useful features on this i wish they brought out on the sx sooner! ie the mic talkover would be so handy for weddings venues! keep up the good work looking forward to the software review :D

Great video, mate. Thanks for the time spent. I have a question regarding the sound card of the unit. I use a Maschine as a standalone drum machine for live sequencing and finger drumming. Now, I know that the unit has inbuilt sequencer and sampler but would I be able to send my Maschine onto a channel without the use of an external sound card like I will be able to do on an S4 or the DJM 850/900/2000 mixers?

Fantastic review my friend. I myself am debating between switching over to Rekordbox, from Serato. But I think I may stick with the flexibility of the DDJ SX2 controller, as you can use BOTH Serato and Rekordbox, whereas the RX models are restricted (at least for now) to Rekordbox. I do love the dark almost "smoked out" look of the RX series.

Hi Joe, thank you for this great video...! I'm a very glad user of the pioneer dj RX and everytime, when I go djing, I feel really happy to have this nice controller! Not to big (like the RZ) and not to small (less functions). One thing, what I would really like to know is, if there is a chance to get a rekordbox software pack in version 4 for MacOS anywhere? I've searched for the whole internet but unfortunately can't find it. :-( Maybe you can help me out with? Tnx and Cheers!

Hi, can you take a doubt? if I have the 4 decks, and the deck 1 music has bpm 125, and I select a song with a bpm 123 on deck 3, let's assume the pitch is at 0 obviously or I'm going to have to go up 2 more manually to get at 25 on deck 3 right? when I return to deck 1 what happens since the pitch will have changed place, the controller has 4 channels plus has how to play manually with the 4 decks without being in the sync?
I JUST BOUGHT THIS THING A WEEK AGO,I AM TRYING TO LOAD MUSIC IN MY PLAYLIST SO I DONT HAVE TO SWITCH BACK AND FORTH FILES INSTEAD I COULD USE THE SCROLL NOB....HOW DO I LOAD/ADD MUSIC AND STILL HAVE THE VINYL AND THE WAVES SHOWING ON THE SCREEN

Hello,
I'm looking for some help and advice before I buy some extra equipment for my Pioneer setup. I'm already running Rekordbox with my Pioneer DDJ-RX, I'm looking to expand by adding 2 Pioneer XDJ-700 cdjs to this setup but I'm unsure whether this controller is supported by the product and I will be able to use the additional cdjs as decks 3 and 4. There won't be any overlap with Rekordbox from the controller or XDJ-700?
Please could you help me further with this?

The bad thing about this one is that you have to use your computer if you want your effects very specific. On most of the mixers, you can assign effects to a certain channel and then use "tap" to sync the bpm

Rekordbox is great to use and now in 5.0 version it works like a Swiss clock.

Bought a DDJ-RX 2 weeks ago-I will tell you, the best "FEELING" controller out there!
I will tell you this: I just attended the DJ Expo in Atlantic City about two weeks ago, and I got to play with every controller available from the new micro controllers, to all the majors like pioneer, denon, numark, to gimicky controllers like the light emitting touch controllers, and everything in between. The Pioneer gear is top notch, as far as controllers are concerned.
If you get a Pioneer, you wont be dissapointed.
I had been plotting on the RX for a couple months, and I went to the Expo with $1500 and the mindset i'm trying everything for HOURS and HOURS!
Besides some of the higher end turntables and the high end "battle" digital mixers, there is nothing that feels as comfortable as the RX.-it feels different that the SX too, and it even feels a little different than their new DDJ-RZX. It feels better than the Numark NS7iii too (the one with the moving platters) and yes, they are moving, but it doesn't have a "weighty" feel. the RX platters feel slightly "weighty" although they are not moving.
Over the 2 days I was there, I tried everything multiple times and next best thing to me were turntables and separate mixer set-which basically negates the fact that I want to be as mobile as possible.
The RX is just right on so many different ways that I came home with it!
Pioneer is truly above other manufacturers when it comes to controllers-but I must stress, you NEED to get to a music store to FEEL the various offerings yourself.
What I think is great, may feel to stiff or clunky to you-but Pioneer definitely does not feel "TOYISH"
-that would be Numark, lol!
problem is i have an allen heacth xone 92 and that mixer is awesome so i thing ill go for the xdjs
