Everything is coming along nicely! It's so nice Carole that your daughter is helping and being your camera person. You are a beautiful family and love seeing you together! I love the stairwell and railing going to the basement....it is so beautiful and with Adrian's touch and updates, it will look amazing! It is a real keeper for sure.

So happy to see Carol using a respirator when sanding. Did know you can get a N95 with a valve that allows you to exhale and keeps thing cooler? Just look for 3M N95 with a valve. I think the salon is going to be simply stunning!

That is the most elaborate and over the top gorgeous molding I've seen in any of the chateau salons and I am wondering if the chateau builder was of high birth or extremely wealthy. The detail is exquisite.

    •  2 года назад

This is one of the main reasons why we bought this Chateau

    • @lindamounts2193
      @lindamounts2193 2 года назад

@ I have no doubt. I am truly in awe of its majesty. Do other rooms in the chateau have this much elaborate molding or is it specific to this room? I've really never seen anything like it and so appreciate the time and detail you're putting into it. It will be museum quality when it's done.

    •  2 года назад +2

Only the salon has this amount of details on the coving but most rooms have some decorative features

The task you face in the salon is incredibly monumental! From the start, I wondered how you would ever do all that needs done. But you are doing it, bit by bit. And one day, it will be fabulously beautiful! Think of it as redecorating Miss Haversham's wedding cake after it has sat idle for many, many decades, restoring it to pristine condition! What a job!
But I know you will do it, and very well!

Oooh those veggie picks are too adorable!
For the onions - perhaps give them away to the neighbors of if there's a little restaurant nearby that could use them (and perhaps exchange for a meal?) would be excellent. We have tons of green onions and my mom takes a lot of them, chops them, and then uses my food dehydrator instead of freezing to use throughout the year.

There is a way to copy the molding easy! if you have the molding preserved on any of the other walls, all you have to do is buy one of those silicone putty (you can find them in any DIY store) and imprint the existing mold on it, this would make the job so much easier! :)

I noticed that you must have spent some time out by the pool, you look nice and golden!!! The house we rented had a pool and I was in it every day! I suggest if you go on holiday, do not look at your phone, do not look at your computer and do not watch tv. It is soooo relaxing!!! Back to reality!! Perhaps sculpt children's play clay into the moldings pattern, create molds from that.
(We used Crayola to form a "dam" around an object we wanted to recreate, half at a time for a dividing line; with a 2 part rubber mixture that solidified .
We also used silicone, (those tubes) to make softer molds we pinned together & had plaster cast as a mold support on the outside.

    •  2 года назад

I thought about silicone carefully piped then patted down to make flater. No hurry the fireplace has to go in first, before I even think about the panel above Cx

Have you tried using no more nails to stick the mouldings onto the wall and ceiling?
only a suggestion, maybe not practical, but could you not make a stencil up with the design of the wall paper that you want, line the panels then stencil the design and then you have the control over the colours that you want?
Anyway work progressing well, well done.. Robb Torremolinos Spain.

Why are you tracing when you can take a photo and use a tape measure to show the size/scale and have a graphic artist create a illustrator file to be used as a template for a 3D molder or a plaster/mason? And you need to learn to do castings of pieces you pick off the wall ...

Hiya, you may be new to our channel but we create all our own moulds from the wall decor and recreate them in plaster! Graphic designers are pricey, we can save money by doing this ourselves (especially and Adrian is a graphic designer himself!)
