Stumbled upon this channel while searching for casting tips. Watched the series 3 times and had a practice today, have added at least 40 yards to my cast and should do better once I fine tune the brake / spool tension - absolutely great vids, many thanks for the help Cheers Derek🍺🍺
Out of all the casting videos on RUclips i think this series will be the most informative
The best on teaching how
to cast multiplier reel I have ever seen.Thank you.
Great tips for a beginner. Took notes and will apply what I’ve learned. Thank for taking the time to do this video.
The tutorial series is one of your best! Love seeing all the fish you guys catch but for a proper amature such as myself, these knot, bait and now the casting videos are brilliant! Looking forward to the next one!
From fixed spool fishing for 4 years to a multiplier reel. This video gave me a lot of confidence and learned a lot of good tips and techniques, a lot of detailed information. Top man!
Wow, what a thorough tutorial part - covering all the important fundamental elements of casting with a multiplier reel. Well, done Andre.
This tutorial really helped me. Dankie. I also just bought an Akios 757 CTM. I can't believe how easily controlled and smooth it is compared to my old Penn 500. The magnets and centrifugal brakes work like magic. I also love the Squall 15 for my lighter rigs. Amazing how much distance you can get by following the fundamental principles.
Your casting technique is also an excellent tutorial for shooting a lacrosse ball. Same pull of the lower arm. Nice video, thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Tutorials at its best keep it up really enjoyed this especially the last few seconds pertaining to accuracy rather than distance.
Hey hey, thanks for the start of this awesome info vlog, keep up the great work
Bloody good tips mate, top stuff.
Thanx for another great video. I've always avoided multiplier reels cause it just looked so complicated lol and seems each cast results in a birds nest. Gonna try your instructions and hopefully get it right this time around.
Thanks , ill grab them out the cuboard now and give it a go for the 10th time , some good tips and pointers ...thankyou
Awesome vid. True what you say, its not always how far you cast but where you cast.
@Andre Cannot wait for part 2. Dying to see it
-M- P Same here can't wait
That was an awesome video. I am trying to learn to cast with a multiplier reel and this is so informative and it will definitely help me. Great advice as always . Keep up the good work. Really appreciated
Top vid, like the part with 1 fast and two slow....will def try that out.
Commenting 3 years
Later..... What's the S.A. multiplier casting record to date? Great videos like it's always been by the way !
Have you ever tried laying the weight under the rod tip and yusing your left hand for most of the power
I love your channel. Maybe you can help me out with some ideas. I'm a left-handed angler who grew up using a conventional Penn 500 reel on a 4 m rod. In S.A. the reel seat is low so I learned to cast with the right thumb on the reel spool and the left high up on the grip. In the U.S., the reel seat is midway up the grip. I've tried switching to the right thumb on the reel spool and left at the bottom of the grip, or right thumb on the spool and holding the rod just above the grip. Both feel a bit awkward. Ideas?
Growing up we learnt with the famous Penn 500 jigmaster which thought us muscle memory quick and fast. Why bakelite spools. My favourite is still the KP reels. One thing he forgot to mention you should reel the line evenly on the spool, it also reduces overwinds.
I still use a jig master and late 1980s custom rod that my now deceased neighbor gifted me 7 years ago. Combo is older than me but still catches yellowtail, bonito, cudas and small yellowfin tuna. Hot rodded the jigmasters and it does good.
Thank you
any idea when part 2 will be uploaded?
Very helpful thank you
Hi i looking forward to the part 2 of this series but it has been removed by the user will we get to see it i hope regards GF....
I just bought a sealine x30sha. I’ve always held a baitcaster with my right thumb and my left hand on the back of the rod. Your rod looks really different than my surf rod. Am I doing this wrong for a surf rod or should it be held like you are also.
wow...well my first time using this real it is quite difficult....I use to fish for bass with my baitcasters and its way easier...this is clearly way harder to get use to....
Just practice, more practice and more practice!!
What main running line are you casting?
What size line do you use shark fishing.and can you put braid on.i mean just braid.laik 50pound backing and laik 150m 100pound thanks
Hi my name is Darshan please can you do a video on how to cast with a ballrace reel I know it's a old way of fishing but I feel that it's the best way of getting maximum distance please asfn I really want to
Learn with a ballrace
rod snd reel combo thank you
You guys slowing down on your pod casts cuz there’s only very old ones about?
I'm having trouble doing that at night because i can't see my sinker. Any help?
Excellent video. One question - is your thumb completely off the reel until the moment it hits the water and only then does thumbing begin?
Yes, in the beginning you can start feathering with your thumb when the sinker starts going down
@@TheASFN Thanks! So if I am just practicing in the paddock or on the beach then I release my thumb from the spool at 11/12 o'clock and then I do not touch the spool until the lead hits (hopefully near) my marker, at which point I just stop the spool with my thumb? Don't know where you are but hopefully it's the Western Cape and you're a Stormers fan. 🏉😁
What reel is that please?
What rod do you have
The intro sounds like a Boere orkes.
Great video, but very irritating when you keep on adjusting your shades! Are they new, or are they sponsored?
:-) those shades were broken, got new ones now.
What rod and reel are used here? Also, what line weight is your main and leader?
Saltist 14,3ft H, Saltiga 50ha, 0,55mm mainline & 0,8 to 1,2mm tapered leader
@@TheASFN thank you! 0.55mm is 100# here in the states. You must catch some monsters down there!
hello, can you write the brand and model of the rod and machine and line you are using?
What rod, reel, line are you using ?
I need that information too
i am stady
Is that reel a Saltiga 40?
Cape Fox 50HA, yes
I’ve recently looked up the Saltiga 50 HA ,… as of 2024 this real cost over $500 and they’re getting harder to find ,… the 30’s and 40’s are $500 as well on the “bay of evil” if you can find them…. Very well made reel … Solid AF 👍😎🤙
I love your video s soo much guys can yourl please send me a reel
Utter bollocks .
video is badly named no intrest in casting technique
Rubbish you will put to much wear on the spool shims and fuck up your reel.
Been doing it for 36 years Peter. ;-)
