    Lekker video guys. Heads up all the way from Namibia.
    I have both grinder and multiplier. Use my multiplier fishing for galjoen and steenies not that far out . And my grinder for kobbies out on the banks far out. Started off with multipliers now in love with the grinders.

      Lekker Rufus thanks for watching... Gotta love the grinders for sure

    Good video. It comes down to personal choice. Wiping a grinder and a multiplier requires different muscle memory. Casting style/action also impact distance greatly. Would be good to see braid to braid comparison without the shock leader and same length rods.

    There's a reason why casting comps are done with multiplier reels. They will never be beaten for distance by a grinder. Cast into the wind with a grinder setup and see your distance reduce dramatically. Grinders are the easy way out if you don't want to master the technique of a multiplier.

      Agreed the multipler is more for distance... But where the grinder setup shines is on a fishing trip over 3days or more...normally the last day of the trip I start throwing over runs with the multipler lol so il stick to grinder

    Hey guys..great video as usual. I've started pendulum casting...im sure know it. its a deadly cast. loading the rod with all that energy and whiping it. Very satisfying. My regular cast was around 80m (my set up; Technium 14ft, with 5oz bottle sinker, penn fathom 15 with 1 break block in use, shock leader .50mm mono). With the pendulum casting I'm up to 134m and improving...consistently hitting 120m. so chuffed. Of cause at the beach there are many factors that will trim your distance, on shore wind, grab sinker and bait presentation to mention a few. If i hit 150m i will be satisfied. More than that i would need to upgrade my reel to a long castng reel with a mag setup, thinner liner etc but not so practical for catching kob etc. Anyway guys..keep up the awesome videos. catch you at the coast.

    Why didn't u guys just measure out 100m once before u started and measure from there instead of walking the entire distance every time?

    I fish my Daiwa 40/50 multipliers with 350-450 m of 65 lb braid and a 10 m, 1.0 mm mono leader. As long as the braid Is tight and even, I rarely suffer overruns. Those big reels are on par or slightly ahead of my 6000-8500 grinders. I've got 50 lb braid on my lighter Penn Squall and Avet SX multipliers and can blast rigs much further than any grinder, including the tall spool ones, with them.

      Wow... To cast for distance with braid on a multiplyer takes special skill... Well done... I use to use a trini 14A with 40lbs braid but that was for scratching 50m casts

    They do cast straighter than a grinder setup, landing on an exact spot on a reef is far more difficult. The stretch of mono also allows you to land far larger fish than you would expect, it still has its place in heavy or budget setups

    • @MADAngling
      @MADAngling  5 месяцев назад

      Yes multi is more controll with distance.. but just as accurate...the new grinder rods has enuff give to land big fish

    Is there any bionic finger setups on the grinder rods?
    Would u have gotten more distance with bionic finger?

      Yes there is on, we had 40lbs braid on

  • @brandonmcqueen1856

    Kudos that you did a comparison, but you all need to work on technique. Left arm on every person's cast collapses into their left side and they end up pushing with the right hand; casting-arc is very short, rod hardly loads and it kills distance.
