Straight forward tutorial that works with no unnecessary chatter about what you had for breakfast. thank you
Couldn't have said it better myself!

Hey man, 4 years ago when I started fishing I needed to spool a reel and a friend told me to check out this video.. 4 years later I still have a quick watch before everyone respond.. thanks man
Thanks for watching glad to help good luck on the water.
@@FishingPOV thanks man
I’ve been searching for a video for over 4 hours to spool on the line to my baitcaster and this one was the only one that worked
Glad it worked good luck and if you need other knots keep my channel in mind. Thanks for watching.
Even at .25 speed I seriously can't follow along I'm not sure why tying knots is so difficult for me
Sorry the video is not working out for you, keep watching and keep practicing good luck.
Seriously it’s so frustrating. Following along exactly and nothing is working.
Nope
@@JustAdude93watch a few seconds at a time. Each time you get a step down rewatch and add some more steps. Ex: watch the first 5 seconds repeatedly till I get that part down solid. Restart and now watch the 15 seconds till I get that down. Restart and then just keep adding a bit that way you're solidifying what you have already learned by blind repitition. Don't be hard on yourself. Practice being as patient as you possibly can. It will increase your focus.
I feel your pain. lol
Thanks 5+ years on your video is still giving.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for dropping this knowledge onto my dome Mr. Bass Hole!

Abby Holton I’m glad it helped thanks for watching
Quick tip - I was struggling on this for hours but found out my knot was on the other side of the loop. What I did is skipped the overhand knot in the beginning and went to the loop knot and at the end I did the overhand knot and synched it down. Make sure you have lots of tag end though so you can pull it down after tying tthe overhand knot at the end.
The reason for tying the stop knot is so that you’re not cinching down so much line pulling the knot tight. That creates friction and weakens the line. Thanks for the comment and good luck.
Thankyou so much for this. I had the exact same problem, and then did it first try after reading your comment
@@ethanday7282 wow that was a while ago
@@collinsebalj5255 lol well your still helping people out

Excellent and simple . So simple and caveman can do it
Ever tried making a flint arrow head?
@@miketurner1608 it is hard

A uni - knot with just one turn through the loop lies much flatter against the spool whether spinning or baitcasting ensuring better line lay. This knot was originally designed for fly reels where the reel does not throw the line;that is backing to arbor, then fly line to backing.
Steve G thanks for that info. However, I’ve been using this know for 30 years and haven’t had a single issues.
Fishing POV No problem, tight lines friend.
Thanks man you explained it the best really appreciate it keep pumping out kickass content
Thank you, and thanks for watching and good luck out there.
This video helped me on tying knots and I learned how to put line on my own reel! This is a very helpful video, I look forward to ice fishing with my new setup, and new skills

Thank you so much I just watch like 10 videos and could not get this knot you explained it very well
sorry it didn’t work out for you the smaller in diameter of the line the tougher this knot is to get to work right but I’ve done it on as small as 2 pound test before. Thanks for watching and good luck
Great tutorial very well explained, i even managed to follow you and do it right and thats saying something. Stay safe and fish on, Subcribed.

Nomad damoN what does this even mean?
@@FishingPOV I no longer will tie a ridiculous knot when connecting to the spool. Thanks for the simple arbor knot instruction. That's what I even mean.

Thanks from Tx fishing folks.

while I'm not a knot guru, I believe you should lubricate (with saliva??) the line just before pulling it to cinch-it
onenikkione yea I lot of knots are like that. Idk abt this one
i can’t be the only one who couldn’t do this if their life depended on it
Im with you man, this is so damn hard. I've been practing this video for like 1 hour, still struggling at it
Wow, this was the only video that made it super simple for me. Thank you!
Adrian u you’re welcome thanks for watching.
Thank you for this video. It usually takes me and my dad like 20 mins to figure it out
Zach Hutson you’re welcome thanks for watching and good luck to you guys.

One of the most beautiful knots ever.😌
Ernest Pena thank you and thanks for watching.
Agreed
Thanks for your help once again… 🤙🏽
You’re welcome thanks for watching.
If you cinch up hard you can pull the knot through. Use a double overhand on the stop knot and it all locks up nicely!
Thanks for the info and watching
This the only videos they help me
Glad it helped thanks for watching.
Thanks from Norway.

If you’re having trouble this is basically a Canadian jam knot. Lots of videos on how to tie with variations and larger diameter.

That was so easy that I'm suspicious. Thanks for the video brother
njstorozuk Thanks for watching good luck
It’s true. I think people who teach knots need to slow down and really show the concept of when going over and under. Gotta bring it down to toddler level for us newbies.
I’m sorry you feel that way if you find a better video online, post it here so other people can use that as a reference rather than mine.
Spent my entire life fishing, and was a former fishing guide, but at age 72 my eyesight is not what it use to be. This will be a very easy knot for these old tired eyes to do. I do use 4 pound mono on my spinning reel. (crappie fishing theses days) mostly very clear water.
Sky High awesome hope this helps you.
Fishing POV hey mine isn't as tight as yours and dosent look exactly like yours but does the same thing just doesn't get tight
Wish I would’ve found this video sooner!
I wish you did too, hopefully you can still use it thanks for watching and good luck
Does this work for braid or nah? Seems like this 10lb ez spiderwire i bought isnt holding a not. Ive tried uni, double overhand, and even fishermans and they all just slip through. This line is sooo thin its ridiculous
I use it for braid and haven’t had any issues but you are correct 10lbs braid is super thin and slick, good luck and thanks for watching.
SIMPLE WITH SO MANY APPLICATIONS!😎
stuart bailey thanks for watching and good luck.
That was too simple perfect tutorial

Nice job. Very clearly illustrated. Thank you!

I saw a other great tip about tying a knot to your spool with a slipknot & just make additional loops like about 3 or 4 extra loops & never have your line slip again
Perry Matherne sounds like a good tip thanks and thanks for watching.
I love the intro😂😂.
Basshole here
Thanks for sharing👍
Old School R/C Thanks for watching
Nice, thank you
I used this to tie my first line to my first reel, worked well, together with a uni knot and a blood knot for the other things. I had a much thinner translucent line though and it almost made me pull my hair off until I managed to tie the knot(s) :-) (I didn't catch any fish)
Can't get this to work with my braided line though, it always jumps over the first overhand knot because it's too tiny..
Kiirozu I use it with braided as well it’s just a little tougher to tie, don’t forget to use electrical tape on the spool so the line doesn’t slip when using braid. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Does it matter where it goes on the spool? (Top bottom or middle)
No
its also know as the Canadian Jam Knot the only Difference is the the Tail end with the fixed knot you have Cut down if the tail was a bit Longer you Pull the end and the Knot comes Loose
FireFly awesome thanks for that info, and watching.
does line thickness make a big difference? tried tying on some 6lb mono to a small reel, but it keeps slipping...
It’s tougher to tie with smaller sized line but it can be done with practice. Good luck.
Idk what kinda black magic this dude doing but idk what yall saying this is easy I'm doing exactly what's hes doing and I cant do it this mans a warlock for sure
Acount #3546 LOL warlock noice keep practicing its one of the easier knots to tie. Thanks for watching.
Wrap it around the spool twice before tying the knot. That way it will be even better.
I’ll try that thanks for watching

Henrik Bakken yes, thanks for watching.
@@FishingPOV Thank you:)
@@FishingPOV Should I use tape?
Henrik Bakken if you are using braided line I would use electrical tape as a backer. It stops the braided line from sliding even after its fully spooked.
