Maldivian here and I finally understand the thing about the water not being as hydrating thanks to you guys. Maldivians do tend to drink a lot of water, and I guess that's the reason why. Even in restaurants in the capital, they'll prioritise serving water more than anything else. I kinda get what your saying since I no longer live in the Maldives.

There is an option for all inclusive, but it was quite a bit more expensive. We already had to perk of free breakfast with our status, so we decided to forgo it this time
We are in between the Hilton (newer resort) and Conrad in the Maldives.Have you stayed at both? Read that the conrad will not honor a lot of diamond member perks, have you heard anything about this? It looks beautiful!
We have not stayed at Hilton Maldives, only Conrad. But we were diamond status during our stay and we received a free bottle of champagne, and the breakfast buffet for free. I think we were upgraded to a different facing overwater bungalow as well. So from our experience, It seemed like they honored all the hilton diamond perks

Thanks! Just trying to keep it real. It was very hot and sweaty. Our camera lens kept fogging up when we would come out of the AC in the room!

is the reef not accessible from the over water villas?
It would be from the Spa villas, but on the other island they discourage you from swimming to the reef there as the current is really strong
did you get a room upgrade with diamond status?
I'm not 100% sure why we got upgraded, but we are both Diamond status, so it's a good bet that had something to do with it
