Tyvm I appreciate it! They put a 4200 hold on cc a chunk of change for sure. I'm sure you will have an awesome time there. I felt very safe as most of the staff was vaccinated and all wore masks.
really great video. we're going in early December. thanks for all the great tips. really excited to be going. also Hilton Diamond so fingers crossed for any upgrades. thanks again! did you do any snorkeling or use the small catamarans? very interested in both.
Thanks for the great comment I appreciate it. I did a little snorkeling but you would need to go out to the house reef to see much. Or perhaps by the undersea restaurant when they feed the fish! I hope they give you an upgrade, but as we know that's never a sure thing ;) Have an awesome trip!
Hi there tyvm! Certain bungalows the waters too low at times. Ours was only chest height so it's probably not advisable. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks! No in fact they changed it feom a standard water villa that I booked to a grand water villa a couple months before I showed up! I thought maybe they made a mistake. But nope I got super lucky. But maybe it was because they had their other island closed for renovations? It was awesome.
@@felixmiao12 Thank you very much I appreciate it. I hope you have an awesome time! I tried to give real glimpses of the food, and drinks and also what you would get for the free happy hour Canapes and drinks as a Hilton Gold or diamond member. I know the video was long but took a chance because There was a lot of good content in it and hadn't seen one quite as thorough as this.
Yes I believe we did. I'll have to go back and scrutinize our bill to double check. Why, did you hear of others not getting those rates as they were supposed to?
@@MilesMiser I’ve never asked anyone before. Just wanted to make sure. It seems like an amazing ability to earn Hilton points because of the high cost of food and drink there
@@jgionti3 Very true, good point. I know we gained a chunk of points. We personally didn't drink a lot of alcohol outside of the free happy hour drinks for gold and diamond members though. But we drank our share of coconuts! :)
Thanks for the video, we were supposed to be in Thailand but it’s off, the less said about that debacle the better but we decided on this resort so maybe there are silver linings. So we arrive Tuesday and I’ve got the charge card ready, thanks for all the info!!!!
Thanks! Sorry you weren't able to goto Thailand ;( I've been there twice and hopefully I will be able to go again. Hope you have an awesome time in the Maldives and at the Conrad. They are really nice there. Bring Snacks! They should have both islands open now. May you have smooth travels and a fun and relaxing vacation!
I've been trying to figure out if drinking water is readily available (besides the complementary bottles in the rooms) - do you remember seeing refill stations for water bottles, or anything like that?
Great question! What we did was bring water bottles that were collapsible and filled them up from the room water bottles before we went out. I tipped the room service people well so each day he brought more and more water and the nesspresso pods too. To the point where we couldn't possibly use either up..ever lol. But we never saw refill stations. They have their own desalination plant on the other island and that's where they fill there bottles from..Thanks for the comment and great question.
Great video Jay, you are definitely living the life!! The fruit variety looks really good.. I watched another video 2014 another guy and he kinda lived in the place first then did the video so yers was more impressive. The beach is gorgeous but not alot of people there.
Thanks. I appreciate that! We went at the end of June and july so it was kind of empty. But that was ok by me! ;) I don't know how someone could afford to live here full time though.
Hi! My husband and I will be going next week! Super excited! Do they do complimentary upgrades on rooms if you’re a Diamond member? They sent an email that they don’t do complimentary upgrades “because of the special nature of the accommodations at Conrad”
Well they say they don't and as a rule that's true. But we were upgraded from a standard water villa to a grand water villa as diamond. But I didn't ask for it. Perhaps when we went had something to do with that as they were at 25% occupancy and only one side of the island was open. So I wouldn't count on an upgrade as occupancy rates have soared now. Honestly I loved both the beach villa and over water due to the uniqueness and conveniences each one offered to me. Either way I know you will enjoy your stay with either one. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed, special, at home, and relaxed. We enjoyed every moment we were there. Hope you have a great vaca!
@@MilesMiser thank you so much! I’ve been seeing a lot of people getting complimentary upgrades but the reservation staff that has been emailing me that they don’t do complimentary upgrades have been giving me prices for the upgrades for either the grand water villa with pool and deluxe beach villa so I wasn’t sure if this was a new policy to them. I also love the tips and you including most of the cost! Definitely not cheap to eat there and it’s in a way making me nervous haha! Will surely make most of the free breakfast and happy hour for Diamond members!
Hi, did you transfer to another island? There will be 3 of us going, is there a place for the 3rd person to sleep? It seems like there was a separate area for the living room in your video. Please advise, rhanks fir sharong your experience!
Well the living rooms are big. The couch should fit a 3rd person well. I don't know if they will charge you a 3rd person occupancy fee or not so you should check.
