$12/month is too expensive. I paid near the same with Standard Notes Pro 2.91$/month + Craft Business 5.95 $/month + Obsidian Sync 4.80 $/month = 13,66 $/month total incl. tax. Or you get scrintal lifetime license for 239$ until 11 dec 2023 (which I own too).
Building a platform like this that's UI/UX appealing, low cost and really functional is a win imo Update: I've been using it for a couple of wks. Everything being an object makes so much sense. I'm glad it's diff than the other doc platforms
Big fan of Capacities - I think they’re doing a lot of things really well, would love to see how you use it as I think their object types take some getting used to as a way of thinking, but can be really powerful if harnessed properly 🔥
I hope you do more videos on this! I just started in the productivity app realm, and am soaking up all the info I can. I just started Notion, but it was daunting trying to learn from scratch. I just tried Capacities today, and so far I like it... I think.. You have great videos, and I just subbed too. Thank you Demetri!
Just a suggestion... You should come back to the Lighrt mode (vs dark mode) for your tutorials. In Dark mode, we are missing the small subtilities on a page: Borders, areas, etc. Dark mode is great for your personal set up but not for tutorials. :-)
I hate to agree with someone on the internet, but I must I this case. Dark mode can make it difficult to see this and that. Perhaps do most of the video in light mode and then add a few minutes at the end to show us what you did looks like in dark mode?
@@tavusion so we must always, without question, always agree? Kids these days. We buy em books and they eat the pages. It would be interesting to see how a notion setup could be recreated in Capacities. Then the different functionalities could be compared. I am trying to do this at the moment with Notion, Obsidian, and Tana. Thanks Demetri I now have another one for the list. More videos would be great as you taught me Notion.
Sorry, but no. I disagree. Pick one or the other and decide based on what the app does for you. Why try to Notonize something that is different? Either use Notion or so e thing else.
I have been spending a bit of time sorting out all my notes across EN, Notion, Google Doc and workflowy, thought I'd amalgamate some specific notes into Obsidian but this looks more promising. -
Yes Please. I'm switching from Confluence. Looking at Notion, Obsidian, Anytype, Capacities. Blocks, Backlinking and Graph view together is rare! Creativity, intuition mixed with the structured blocks and "custom app" building for productivity. Using Obsidian and Notion together seemed like The Way, but Anytype and Capacities look like they incorporate all the "new" functionalities we all seem to want/need.
I've tried it out this week, there was nothing in my use case that I couldn't also do on Notion, and a few things that I could not replicate from Notion, so I didn't keep using it.
And they allow youtube and web link embedding. And you can use the calendar like a journal for the day. And it is cross platform because their web app actually works on mobile, unlike Craft, and sometimes Notion.
I like Notion but Capacities leans in on the Individual, me and My. Less a Team or Business that needs a shared Wiki. I like Capacities because its better tailored to PKM instead of B2B.
That’s the point; to give you just enough instead of wasting your time on customizing every aspect of everything. I feel like notion is great but not worth the time required for you get in the end
What are your thoughts on Capacities.io?
My first thought: let's see to what extent I can reproduce this in Obsidian...
Two guys, fresh out of university. German. Listening to their community. Privacy, end to end, local. Seems promising.

It’s pretty cool!
The way this app organizes things is very similar to object-oriented programming concept.

Thanks for the comment!
Once their mobile apps go live, I’m going all in with Capacities.
Nice!
You can log into your account from the browser on an iPad and get a similar experience in the meantime ;)
@@OhDearBabajan mobile app should be live by next week! (According to the info from their discord server)
Just finished watching the video. NGL, this is the first Notion competitor I actually like.
That’s awesome!
Everything is better but also worse than Notion.
😂😂
Can you explain?
@@annafilou it’s kind of the motif of the channel, but it also happens to be true.
Very interesting! I'd be interested in another video if you decided to try it for a week or so. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!

We just shouldn't make disagreeing our default, imho.

Looks interesting. Perhaps I will look closer if they release an Android app.
It’s hope soon!
It's funny because I made a video about Capacies a while back: "60 minutes with Capacities" and I probably wasn't as quick to find the gist of it.
Thank you I think 😂
Notion doesn’t do linking properly. I really like the object based notes too. Capacities is winning me over.
If this is what I think it is... I'm sooo switching from Obsidian into it! Keep up exploring the app!
Thanks! Will do!
Very interesting...and they have a great roadmap...worth the money ? ;) BTW: thank you for your contents
Glad to help!
Did there came more. Is there another video about capacities?
i will make more videos

Missing the formulas. Ergonomics is below Notion's. Otherwise, it would be perfect!

Too much vocal fry for me
No tables 😢
It’s available now!
Part 2??
i'll make another one for sure
I have a question... why your website offer solutions for notion user and yet you still make video to roast notion?😂
Looks like AnyType
In some ways yes!
