I love taking my Fuji XT-5 with me on walks; it's beautiful and absolutely fantastic. It has inspired me to delve into street photography, which has become one of my favorite hobbies. Yes, love your camera and be creative. Another piece of advice: instead of seeking validation from social media, do it for yourself; you'll be happier with what you do.

Very well put my brother, I unfortunately I have GAS and have gone through so many cameras in the 6 years I have been into photography. I started with an entry level Canon t6i and have progressed through the XT line and now into GFX. I don't make a dime on my photography and I like it like that, the joys of shooting are high. I've been able to watch RUclipsrs including yourself and have educated and progressed with alot of help from people like you and the Fro man etc. It is such a joy to share my passion with my son, he has inherited an M50, anXH-1 and an X-t200 from me but has an interest in Film cameras as well. I ejoy your matter of fact presentation of what works for you. Photography is a beautiful thing, as I approach my retirement in 7 months I look forward to trips to everywhere just to snap some pictures of something different, keep up the great content, stay you! The advice I've heard people give about buying a guitar for the first time is to go into the instrument store, find something that you can afford and you think looks cool. Pick it up and it it feels good go with that one. That's pretty much the same advice I give for buying cameras.
I'd one more thing to the list of things you consider though: *interface*. How do you like to control the camera? My enjoyment of photography significantly increased when I started using older analog cameras and Fuji cameras because instead of the indirect and kinda confusing PASM and modal dials UI I just had marked dials that I could easily see what my settings was. I think everyone can figure out PASM obviously (and I understand why some prefer their efficiencies), but for someone new I'd highly consider a camera with marked dials. It makes learning the exposure triangle so much easier. I've had so many situations where I'm trying to teach people basics of exposure, but my students get totally bogged down in figuring out PASM instead.
But great video. Love the casual vibe.

I never shot 5 seconds of video and never will. My only full frame camera is a 2008 vintage 12mp Nikon D700. I does everything that I need from a camera (coming from 50 years of film photography), and therefore it remains my workhorse.
I hate paying for features that I'll never use.

A couple of weeks ago you pushed me in the direction of the XH2s. I'm shooting basketball and everyone pushed me in the Sony A7iv direction but I didn't enjoy the camera nor the files. By accident I found your video about soccer with the XH2s and after a couple of weeks thinking, I pushed the buy button. The 50-140mm will replace my Nikon D610 with 80-200 f2.8. So thanks for that!

I've been using the Nikon Zf for a few months and I've loved most of the photos I've taken with it, even if they're not particularly good or because image quality is better or whatever, but simply because I feel good when using the camera. It really makes me want to take it with me everywhere I go. Is that a dumb or absurd reason? Maybe, but just like you said, it is what it is and it works for me.

Me, with a canon t100... That hurts man.
I won't stop using it anytime soon tho, it's the only thing I can afford and I've already grown into it after a couple years of using it (it's also worn out af, I keep messing the grip, lost the thing that supports the eye in the VF. Lots of scratches, the shutter button sometimes misfires the AF [I use MF anyway], specswise is kinda aged).
And still, somehow, a lot of people praise it. Perhaps because Argentina is not used to a ton of cameras around, and Canon is still though as a household brand.

Gear shaming gives the industry a bad rep. I personally care more about the photos than what the camper looks like. The latest and greats can cost a fortune if your kit isn’t compatible. Besides, for the most part it’s the skill of the user. I’ve knocked out some bangers with a D40.

I love the garbage bin set. Perfect!! Some of the scenes felt like an SNL advertisement skit! LOL! Question: The other day I shot some baseball. I wanted to shoot with vintage, manual focus glass on my X-T3. It was a blast. I used two lenses; Canon FD28mm f2.8 and a Pentax 50mm f1.7. I feel overall that I like shots that include more than just action close-ups of players. I like getting a wider view. My question: I've seen you shoot that way and really like it. When you do, are you typically shooting at 35mm FF focal length? I've been wrestling with what focal length gives me a wide enough view to show the overall scene, yet doesn't make the players look to small and far away. Thanks again for your thoughts! Yes, I love my X-T3. I've had it for over three years now. Bought it barely used. It's a great camera. Rugged too. I hike with it all the time. I'm an amateur with no plans on earning money from photography. It's my serenity now activity. Take care, have a great weekend!

I myself am only a hobbist in the beginning stage of my photography journey, but love to play around with cameras, since I like tech in general.
