Hey Robin, dunno how easy this is to do but you should slap a “ Man...FOR...HIMSELF” banner on the screen on your videos after you say what this little world is. The first couple times I was like huh... what did he say? Anywho, I love your videos cheers. Also I love the Tom Ford and Acqua di Parma videos more like that please in the future xx
@@paigeofstylez That was never my scene. I hate large gatherings of people and loud noise. I even have a hard time going to a sporting event. My job has given me a lot of anxiety so I try to avoid as much as I can when I'm on my downtime.
Your plane story gave me an idea, what about making a video of your "fragrance horror stories" or some of your bad experiences with wearing too much/not enough/the wrong type/etc... fragrance.
I gotta say. One thing that Robin does is he always values his fans and followers. It Really makes the difference. And I know whenever I watch one of his videos I really feel like I'm contributing and that it's not just another comment on the internet. Thankyou.
Nice video! As a man, I have really found myself liking floral fragrances lately. I’m still on the hunt for my perfect rose scent and it is very fun. Also, I am beyond jealous of your lamp and I would very much so like to own it lol.
I am more of a woody type of fragrance lover. There are popular woody fragrances out there that I absolutely love that some don't like but it's what I like in fragrances. I think woody fragrances give off a lot of masculinity and freshness as well, along with confidence. I like fresh fragrances as well but woody types.
I’m definitely a fresh guy. I love a clean Prada or Mont Blanc fragrance to grab people’s attention. When I mature a bit more I think I’ve got woody and floral fragrances to look forward to :)
Great video Robin, I have only just found you but already a huge fan. You are a natural. I love your knowledge delivered with humour and wit. Your presentations are clear, concise and informative. Its like talking "to me" not "at me". Looking forward to more.
As a woman I definitely love how you say about floral notes having a connotation of emotional intelligence. I dealt with a few men that are really insecure that I find it a bit petty. I would definitely want to befriend someone with this kind of gentleness and "alternate" mature vibes. Still new to the perfume circle (and crazily reading everything remotely related), it is the best description I've heard thus far. You put it way better than I possibly can, and I think smell particles should never be gendered. I guess the female equivalent of men's floral perfume might be a mix of oriental and wood or floral notes? That the "softness" of men and "sharpness" of women feel so natural and abiding to the traditional gender roles, but impossible to be mimicked by the opposite gender because their essence is the breaking of stereotypes.
Great video Robin, always love your fragrance content. I certainly feel like i lean towards different styles depending on mood and situation for sure. Fresh-casual, summer. Floral-daring, dressed up like black orchid or dior homme. Woody-manly, work environment like oud wood or grey vetiver. Oriental-dark, mysterious night time scent.
@@ManForHimself 100%, i think thats part of the fun with fragrance. Like with your style, its nice to float between different niches. You cant wear a suit all the time, but same goes for sweatpants.
You really well described the kind of vibe that you are giving away with a lot a fragrances. I personally also started with some fresh fragrances, but then really moved into the woody, oriental kind of way, I loooove the combination of leather, oud, vanilla, sandelwood, rum, tabacco, incense all the good stuff. Really gives of this warm, but at the same time masculine and rough vibes. Ooh btw iam 26 and a looot of people have told me that iam always smelling good, so age really doesn't matter 😁btw my dad is 60 and loves his fresh aquatic fragrances 😂😂
That all seems very ...reasonable I would almost say - Different smells and their connection to certain personalities. I also like to macht the fragrances to my different styles of outfits and moods. It's really fun playing with this stuff.
Wonderful topic-I certainly select based on what I’d like to feel or project on a given day! My quarantine scents have leaned into cozy semi-gourmand warmth, Le Labo Patchouli 24 and Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry.
The worst part of modern technology is there is no way to integrate smell. I’m watching robin spray these fragrances and stuck having to imagine them lol. I suppose it is one of the last areas of fashion and self care that necessitates an in person experience.
Hi Robin, any opinion on scents containing Ambroxan? I've heard that less is definitely more, but some how even max 2-3 sprays seems to project like crazy
I love these "fresh outta the shower" type of colgnes like Chanel Égoïste Platinum. It smells like shaving cream, soap and it's fresh and masculine. It gives you that clean from head to toe and dapper vibe, with a little sweetness to it. Btw shout outs to Arabians perfumes they really make special fragrances that will make you stand out with usually a little femininity to an occidental nose.
Tried out Oud for Greatness today by Initio, after all the hype ive heard from different RUclipsrs, i dont know, but i think i kind of got a little disappointed by it. Maybe my expectation were higher than it should, i dunno but it kinda, didnt remind of oud at all. Been trying out a couple of different ouds lately, and i really dig the Rose/Oud combo from Musk Oud by Killian ^^
I'm an androgenous asexual woman but love both mens and womens parfums equally. I think as I get older I favour jammy fruits/florals/tea/bakery scents rather than the overly sickly Indian-type spiced woody orientals I used to love (i.e. YSL Cinema lol) My new current faves on rotation are: Diptyque: L'ombre Dans Leau Jo Malone: Pomegranate Noir (wish the discontinued Tomato Leaf candle was a parfum 😢😭) L'artisan Parfumeur: Tenebrae/Noir Exquis/Venenum/Tea for Two Fragonard: Reine des Coeurs Robert Piguet: Alameda Serge Lutens: Jeux de Peau Penhaligons: Lothair

Is ombre leather and black orchid suitable for younger people? Can they be for everyday in England? (not super hot summers 😁)

Robin oozes class and refinement...I wish I was that.
Your kind. It's just a lot of practice! Ha ha.
Chaddy baby. You ooze machismo like Razor Ramon
@@paigeofstylez When the borders are open, you're gonna have to come up to Toronto if you haven't been before.
@@AGentlemansJourney77 yes sir. I used to always go for Caribana

Hmmm interesting topic you touched upon 😊👌 like your analytical approach. Glad you are back.
I think you’re right about woody fragrances! My favourite fragrance of all time is Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum 🤩
Very cool video. I like the Comme des Garçons fragrances. In summer I bought the monocle Laurel scent. It smells like a woody/ fresh fragrance.

As an introvert I definitely AVOID oriental fragrances, I like woody like Sauvage 😉
