- Well featherbrains,
Here is installment #1 to "Women of the Three Stooges".
The ever popular Christine McIntyre. (ALERT! HUGE SURPRISE AT THE END OF THIS VIDEO!!!).
There is so much information about Christine already available that I won't bother to include it here. My only personal note is that I met her in 1975 at a Moe Howard tribute (Along with Helen and Emil Sitka).
Christine's first appearance is as "Customer 5" in "They Stooge to Conga". I included it here but if you blink you'll miss her. I did my best to keep the order in the clip chronologically correct to her appearances. In many cases she showed up in later Stooge shorts but in stock material with nothing new. I tried to capture new footage when it appeared.
Here is the chronology:
1/1/1943 THEY STOOGE TO CONGA
7/16/1944 IDLE ROOMERS
11/24/1944 NO DOUGH BOYS
1/19/1945 THREE PESTS IN A MESS

3/4/1948 SQUAREHEADS OF THE ROUND TABLE
7/8/1948 THE HOT SCOTS
12/9/1948 CRIME ON THEIR HANDS
3/3/1949 WHO DONE IT?

I fell in love with Christine McIntyre as a kid watching Stooges. what a stunner.
Me too!! May she Rest in Paradise
Yeah she was a hottie!! 😍
same...1950s....
DITTO😘!!!
They were all hotties.Love their beautiful smiles and voices, but when they get mad ,it's not a pleasant moment.
A real classy lady who could have easily fit into more glamorous roles, but her chemistry with the Stooges was priceless!😁❤️
Throw me in the long line of guys who have always had a crush on her. What a great talent she was.
Thank you for this! Christine McIntyre was one of the most talented and versatile performers of her time. I'm not sure that she has gotten as much credit as she deserves.
You are very welcome Lorraine M. It was a pleasure to put together.
No where close to what she deserved Lorraine. Maybe because of the stooges. Smh.
@@shermankelly9062 Really, You throw a dig at the Stooges on a video called Women of the Stooges? She's a fine performer and was probably grateful to work with the Stooges.
@Lorraine M I agree she had so much talent she is underrated!!! This is fantastice @Mark Blair thanks so much.
So hard to get anywhere in Hollywood. Here is someone talking about the theater, but it could just as easily be about the movies:
If you wish to be a playwright, you just leave the theater of tomorrow to take care of itself. Go and get yourself a job as a butler in a repertory company if they'll have you. Learn from the ground up how plays are constructed and what is actable and what isn't. Then sit down and write at least twenty plays one after the other, and if you can manage to get the twenty-first produced for a Sunday night performance you'll be damned lucky!”- Noel Coward
We were damned lucky to see what we did of Christine. She made her mark.
Thanks for posting this. I never knew about that Castle Films short. Christine McIntyre was so talented and very beautiful. She could sing, dance, and do comedy so very well.
Same thought here. Her comedic sense was perfect for the Stooges. Never forced or over the top.
Christine was a beautiful and talented lady her comedic timing with the stooges was priceless. She was undoubtedly the fourth stooge. May she Rest In Peace!
RIP Christine, she was an amazing actress with a beautiful singing voice. She would've been 109 today, born April 16, 1911.
And my birthday too!
Junior Mudd 1977
I thought that name "McIntyre" seemed familiar. She was John McIntyre's daughter. He played in Wagon Train for several years
Had she looked like she did at 109 I'd still jump her! Damn. What a dame.
Huh, neighbor's birthday was the 18th, same year, Cullen Bass :)
"Cousin Basil." She was so funny in "Brideless Groom," slapping the crap out of poor Shemp.
" Oh a WISE DAME eh?"
Bitch slapping the crap out of Shemp🤣
@Jerry Smith “ True story” - Shemp told Christine McIntyre to do whatever you have to do in order to sell the scene and boy’ did she put a number on Cousin Basil😂 🚪💥💥🥊 lmao🤣
@@phillyghost1256 That's amazing! I didn't know there was so many little side stories to all these stooge comedy shorts. It's so interesting what happened all those years ago.
@@MrChristian331 👍yep’ and this time 100yrs ago the Stooges were running wild on America!😃😂
The scene beginning at 5:04 with Cousin Basil is from "Brideless Groom". In of Moe's books about the Stooges, Emil Sitka said that when Christie slapped Shemp
around then knocked him thru the door was probably one of the best timed stunts they ever did. She was absolute flawless in this scene and it is one of my favorites.
Emil said they did several takes on this scene because she was afraid she would hurt him. Shemp finally told her " Look kid, lets do it one more time and this time
lets do it right. LET ME HAVE IT" And that is exactly what she did. The timing could not have been any better and the shot of Shemp coming thru that door is
hysterical. Perfect camera work.
She did!!! Good for Shemp. What a right from Christine!! Wow!
She was a great foil for the stooges and a real soprano.
She had a masters in music, btw...
I remember as a kid when they started showing the Stooges shorts on tv and I noticed Christine McIntyre and thinking. "She's a pretty lady!" And from that moment on, I always looked forward to her appearances in a Stooge short. Such a classic beauty with a beautiful singing voice!
Christine was a beautiful woman a great actor she brought joy to my heart when watching The three Stooges may God take care all of them thank you 👍🇺🇸😄😄😄💃
I always thought she was beautiful
She had a awesome singing voice!!!!! This is great!!!
@5:56 - Love it when she imitates Shemp's "eebeebee"!
"She's very well bread"
'i like mine toasted"!!
Christine was great with the boys and in her singing career.
I wish she did more with her singing ability !!!
Christine: "any half wit could see I'm telling the truth" Shemp: "yeah, I can see you're telling the truth."
Her best work with the boys was during the Shemp era. You could tell she and Shemp really loved working with each other due to the fact that the two of them worked with each other on his solo shorts.
I enjoy how hard she has to work from busting out laughing in the scenes she shares with Shemp. They had good chemistry.
@@MarkBlairs-Stooge-Channel Not to take anything away from Miss McIntyre, there was something natural & uncanny about the way she fit in seamlessly with the stooges, but I believe Shemp could have had chemistry with a dirt clod if he thought the scene called for it. lol
@@redlinemando RIP Samuel Horwitz (1895 - 1955)
Christine was a stunningly beautiful woman... very talented as well.
Perfect! Thank you for creating this! I love Christine McIntyre!
Thank you, Mark. I think it's a tribute to Christine that she could be a damsel in distress in one short, and just as convincingly be a villainess in another short.
I don't see how anybody could keep a straight face with any of the stooges around.
ColKorn1965, Or a dry eye now that there gone...
Woo woo hi a toots! Some swell looking dishes in their short films, Christine McIntyre was a bombshell!
*Christine McIntyre
"Officer"Joe Bolton would have her on his kid show as a guest in the 1960s as he hosted the Stooges comedies. What a nice sweet lady!
She was ? Wow. As the elementary school kid that I was in the glorious Officer Joe Bolton (and Captain Jack McCarthy) era, McIntyre’s appearance probably went zoom, right over my head. Lol
@@nycsongman9758 I don't remember that either... I do remember, however, when Joe Bolton would lecture the kids not to try to do what the Stooges do. "Now boys and girls, the Stooges have special methods to what they do, like sound effects and they really don't poke each other the eyes..... it's all just make believe, so don't go around hitting each other and poking each other in the eyes...." Like we didn't know that already . Also, I remember when Moe, Larry and Curly Joe were on the show live... I was really confused about the Curly character, but my older brother kept telling me that it was really Curly just older....it was really upsetting to me.......then I remember one time he had to tell us that he really wasn't actually a police man he was just a make believe character...jeez, what a let down......lol
Captain Jack either came on after, or before Officer Joe, every weekday afternoon on WPIX in NYC. Captain Jack McCarthy specialized in, well, Popeye cartoons; get it ? Lol. I once heard a lament that there was a loss for kids when the afternoon cartoon hosts faded into oblivion; there were quite a few kids’ shows with adults as hosts, and on Saturdays as well. The hosts were electronic- surrogate parents that encouraged kids to finish their homework. Lol
@@nycsongman9758 Hnnnn,,, is that the Captain Jack mentioned in the Billy Joel Song?
Alpha-Omega Interesting; Joel did live within the WPIX broadcast (Nassau County, Long Island) signal as a kid, and he’s a Boomer, so, it may well be.
What Beautiful & Talented Lady !!! Fitted Perfectly With The Boyz Especially Shemp !! My Favorite May She Rest In Peace With All The Stooges !!! Heaven Is Definitely Laughing Today !!
Mark, you've done some great work here putting these together for the rest of us weasle-faced porcupines... and I sure appreciate!
Wouldn't it be terrific if somehow, somewhere there were some Stooges "Out-takes" & bloopers to be seen? Even some behind-the-scenes stuff?
Cheers to you, from lake Ontario, New York.
Wayne County? Monroe? Orleans?
(You actually meant, "For the rest of us feather-brained imbeciles!")
@@basilmarasco1975
Monroe.... Charlotte...
@@basilmarasco1975 "Speak for yourself" I'm only half imbecile. lol You really need to change your YT name to cousin Basil.
@@redlinemando With a picture of Shemp, right?!
@@basilmarasco1975 Well...………..you'd be my hero if you did!!!!!!! Do you remember the picture of Shemp from "Gypped in the Penthouse"? A close up of the same one might have been in "He Cooked his Goose". That one.
The stooges are the only shows I've ever seen Christine in,and with her good looks and singing talent makes me wonder why she wasn't more well known.
You can see her in a few films made by Monogram Pictures Studio and appears with the Bowery Boys in "News Hounds". She started at RKO and in 1937 debuted in "Swing Fever"
1954's "Oh Cash and Hash" was Christine's final appearance of The Three Stooges.
I just watched a Shemp two-reeler here on RUclips called, "Where the Pest Begins" from 1945, also with Christine McIntyre- no Larry or Moe. Worth watching, what you'd expect outta good ol' Shempy....😎
Great job, as usual in showing her career as it chronologically intersected with the classic Stooges.
Many thanks!
my favorite three stooges woman. she was so beautiful. She was funny too. i love the episode where she was an old woman and the stooges made a drink, she drank it and became young.
Ikr that was Awesome!
I think that short(All Gummed Up)was the first time I saw lovely Christine McIntyre.(I was 4 1/2 years old.)
such a beautiful, talented lady. What a voice!
Her singing was like that of a nightingale
G
I'm not a huge fan of Soprano opera singing, but I was always entranced at the way she could sing very difficult vocal sections & make it seem so effortless!!!!!!! I imagine the effort it took her to sing could probably be compared to the effort it took her to look good. lol She was born to sing & look good & by golly, she did & how!!!!!!! Her pitch accuracy was second to none. She must have had perfect pitch.
She was absolutely gorgeous! Like a real life Angel!
You can tell Shemp & Christine enjoyed their scenes together ! The glances they give each other after a bit trying to make her crack up but she hangs in there😂😂😂😂
So true. In "Shivering Sherlocks" when Moe is reading all the IOU's Christine is really having a hard time not just busting out. Of course the classic "Shemp with the camera" scene and "Shemp drinks the mickey" scene in "Who Done It?" are at the very top of her having to really fight to stay in character.
She had what you can't be taught....perfect comedic timing. She was the only actor that could hold her own with the stooges. It didn't look forced or rehearsed....she was a natural.
Well said!
Definitely had a crush on her when I was a kid.
I still do at 38.
@@redlinemando I still do at 65. She was the kind of girl I always wanted to meet: pretty, sophisticated and with a great sense of humor. She and Hillary Brooke were my ideal.... Well, never met anyone even remotely close to either one of them.....
Jimmy B... Hey me also, boy we started with some damned great taste you and I.
I definitely did!! She was GORGEOUS!!!!!!
She was HOT!!!!
Big fan. Stunningly beautiful woman and talent.
ms. mclntyre was so beautiful, boys were lucky.
She is what they call back then a looker. My mom was looker. Stuning. And talented.
Yep. From shins to shampoo.
on May 9, METV's 3 Stooges block is called "The Marvelous Ms. McIntyre" and the whole 2 hours is her Stooges shorts
Awesome!
Christine was "HOT",,,,RIP I pray the Lord will allow my soul to neet her soul when i get to Heaven,,,,when God takes me home,,,,

“Spread OUT-T !” Lol
Excellent, sir!! A swell, tribute👍😁!!! Always payed attention, when Christine performed!! In my opinion, she was qualified as, the female 'stooge'!!!
Thanks so much Roger. She was a real pro.
Aw, the babysitter one is missing. Christine: “Well, this is rather unexpected” Moe: “We’re the new babysitters” Larry: “I hope that’s the baby” Shemp: “some baby!” Moe: “Quiet” thunk thunk! I always loved Christine McIntyre and her chemistry with Shemp especially. She was such a natural, truly beautiful and very funny. Thanks so much for putting these clips together! Another truly hilarious woman who worked with the Stooges was the actress who played Mrs. McRuder the landlady. For as low as their budget was their casting was AWESOME!
Actually that was Lynn Davis in "Baby Sitters Jitters". You are very welcome. Putting these together is a real blast for me.
Oh, sorry about that . Obviously I need to watch it again (and again and again!)
Some woman are cute,
Some girls are pretty,
Some times a female is so stunning she cant be forgotten...
Christine not only had beauty but she had talent...Happy Birthday in heaven..as the saying goes Christine: "strange men are following me"..Shemp: "stranger if they didn't!"..METV showing 2 hours of the Three Stooges on Saturday 6pm-8pm
That was such a classic Christine-Shemp moment!!!!!
Have not read the post but I searched Christine a while ago and ran across a dedicated fan who found her. He began writing back and forth, became friends and met her in CA. She still looked great and her an her husband iirc bought/ran condos/apartments. She has passed but he took pictures, ask questions etc.
it is a great article that shows up in a google search on her name. I personally met her, shook her hand at a Moe Howard Tribute back in 1975.
Another one who had a crush on Christine as a kid but watching her now I've grown to respect her as a fine comedic actress who held her own with The Stooges on every level.
Truly one of the most beautiful, loveliest women who ever lived! I've been in love with her since I first saw her with the Stooges when I was a kid.
16:32. Strange men are Following me.... They'd be strange if they didn't !

my fav line of all ..
One of the best Shemp quotes ever!!!!!!!
Still LMAO at that line. Dialogue like that would never make the screen today in Hollywood's toxic PC culture of today.
She was so stunning and beautiful as well as a great singer with perfect pitch. A rare talent!
Well done, Mark. You missed her role in Three Troubledoers, but nailed her performances otherwise.
Dang! LOL.
She was beautiful ! Love the beat down she gave Shemp. Didnt know she was actually slapping him !Don't forget
Jean Willis another stooge beauty !
Damn she was a real stunner. She had talent across the board too.
When Ms. Christine is around is when you notice the Greatness of Shemp. @ 7:13 & 7:22 McIntryre trying not to smile.
Christine McIntyre could really sing in real life. Why did she last so long at Columbia? She was humble professional, wasn't manipulating people for bigger, better roles, always got her lines and showed up for work on time every time and did exactly what the directors asked. That is how she got a 10 year contract in 1944. She didn't get rich under that contract, but she did have stable work up to 1954 which in Hollywood terms is amazing. Like the Stooges, she was paid peanuts, but she has a screen life that outlasted many of her peers and thanks to the Stooges, she still lives on through the screen today. If she had gone on those Stooges live stage tours in the late 1950's, who knows what could have happened?
The worst part about the three stooges is the ending
Christine was my first crush. She was beautiful.

Why was she not a celebrated singer? She was amazing!
A real talent that was pleasure to the eyes and ears.
Her singing Lucia Sextet in Micro-Phonies (1945) is such a beautiful rendition of the song, and I get chills listening to it every time. I wonder if she ever got into records? If she didn’t, it’s such a shame.

Hi Lorna. How ya doon?
I love cookies. Especially blonde ones.
Christine Mcintyre what's the most beautiful of all the stooge ladies. She was the perfect mix of beauty and talent and smart. Every man's dream. Always like the shorts with her in them. And she work so well with the boys. The chemistry was definitely there.
Christine McIntyre was a very talented woman/actress, one of the many rare actresses that had the ability to sing, act, play comedy, and most of all can be beautiful while doing it, Micro-Phonies is Christine's best performance on the Stooges, I did love the cover of Sixtent from Lucy, Barbara Eden is equal to her, she also could sing, act, play comedy and most of all stay beautiful while doing it. Two very beautiful woman that had the ability to do any of that, that I just named.
I never realize she was giving instructions while singing. 8:04 - 8:25 The Shade ☺☺

@@MarkBlairs-Stooge-Channel I read up, that Christine could not get the hang of it, she was slapping him softly, and Shemp said, "Honey. If you want to do me a favor, cut loose and do it right. A lot of half-hearted slaps hurt more than a good one. Give it to me Chris, and let's get this over with." Christine got up her courage, and on the next take, let him have it, the last punch was a haymaker, knocking Shemp through the door. A glimpse of real life.
Although best remembered for her work with the Stooges, McIntyre appeared in a number of Grade B westerns as well as in dozens of other comedy shorts (two-reelers) for Columbia Pictures in the mid-40s to the mid-50s when her contract expired. I’ve often wondered why she didn’t pursue work in television, which was beginning to burgeon at the time. Instead, she and her husband, a screen writer, turned to real estate. She passed away in 1984 at the age of 73.
(That was on WPIX channel 11 in NY)
