Tbh I'm in love with the whole arc and new fu hua

After the death of Nuwa and Fuxi, Fu Hua started to live soly to kill the honkai, showing no mercy for those corrupted by it. All of her seven disciples were orphans that she take in after killing their honkai corrupted parents, but since she never bothered to explain what is the corruption to them, the majority had a grudge against her and, when one of them became corrupted and Fu Hua was like "okey, just gonna kill you and make lunch" they started to think that she didnt care about them at all and just wanted to use them to kill the corrupted. During this, the bonds they have between them were stronger than with Fu hua and the 2° disciple that was a total b*tch convince them to kill her

As far as I know your guess about why the disciples turned on Hua is spot on. It is second hand information though since the Seven Swords VN where it's all shows does not have a translation to English. I'm not even sure where things stand on Fanmade translations.
Personally to me this Arc and the next one are tied for my favorite in all of Honkai Impact.

Definitely not the best arc... It is nice, but the ending is not good and all seele arcs are just better.
