Ana do like a bit like Kiana because they're blood related. Same family name as her Cecilia - Schariac.
And I believe she "ditched" the girl because there was like half of her body crushed into a red pancake so there's no way of saving her. Well, she died minute after so it means it was too late already.
I clearly remember that (the sister being torn in half) being a thing. I don't remember if Crit skipped it in the video or if that is from some side material.

Can't wait! Next arc is... Well, it just IS.
Something that genuinely irritates me more than it should is how people don't seem to grasp the scope of the situation with Ana and Chen's sister. And it's no excuse or absolution but: Ana was 14, maybe 15 years old during that mess. This was her first assignment in the field and she was separated from the team of assumedly experienced Valkyries. We're also given only vague information about the sister's injuries bu given that she dies SECONDS after Ana runs off she was probably in VERY bad shape. Ana panicked and ran. That's not a good reaction for a Valkyrie but it's an entirely understandable reaction for 14-15 y.o. the first time they're exposed to extreme stress. And no it does not matter how much or what exactly kind of training she had. This is an instinctual reaction, the people that can go against that sort of thing at THAT age are extremely rare.
Here's another thing - Ana turns into a Herrscher seeming out of the blue. But clearly the Honkai NEED certain mental states to initiate the process - that's why it showed Chen that scene. Mei too became a Herrscher during a time of extreme emotional distress. Ana carried the guilt of that moment for the entire 2 years between the Manila event and her awakening and it wore her down until she couldn't hold back the process any more.
On a side note the reason Ana looks similar to Kiana is because they are technically (probably distant) cousins. She's a Schariak and so was Kiana's mom. The Kaslana genes are not the only ones that are pretty damn strong apparently.
Another side note but I do love the start of the arc where Raven and Rita are sniping at each other claiming they ruined each other's plans.... when the truth is Kiana did all the work on both fronts. Probably a good thing they don't bring her up in front of Mei right then but damn, they did not hesitate to take credit when they had no right to it.

Separate comment but it deserves it. Re-Awakening is probably the most hype, perfectly executed character introduction in Honkai. And that last line get's real chilling when you come back and rewatch it after you finish the next arc. And said arc is in my opinion a VERY strong contender for best arc in Honkai. I love Kiana so much it's stupid, she will forever be my favorite, but next arc you will meet the unequivocal best girl of Honkai.
You really should read the manga for this game, it gives so much context

PS: sometimes the dialogs does not match what they say in japanese... and sometimes the voice have more information and context than the text... plus im not sure if the translation in english are direct translated from the chinese maybe that's why
