The fact that people assumed I was gay because I have locs is hilarious 😂 I’ve been with my man for almost 5yrs next yr. didnt know a hairstyle makes you gay? 😂
‘As a resident of earth...and as a black woman’ Amen. I’ve been saying in my head lately how dry YT has been as far as new content, but then I have to think about the channels I’m watching and who’s behind them - I totally get it. Thanks for giving us this one 💗🦄 *also, I love my bunching and non-uniform look ❤️
Definitely agree about the shrinkage part. My hair isn’t growing as fast as I thought it would... It’s just shrinking and getting thicker instead of longer and I’ve been locd for well over a year now.
Thank you . Thank you. I just watched a video in which a loctician was telling everyone that they shouldn't wash their locs more often than every 2.5 months because they need to dry out to lock up. What in the hell? She claimed if you sweat, your head and hair will be fine if you just let it air out. OMG! If I just let my workout clothes air out without washing them they would stink to high heaven So, that is exactly what would happen to my hair. I totally agree that everyone's journey is different. Some may need to shampoo more often than others. But locs are more than just a hairstyle. You still have to consider personal hygiene and the health of your scalp and hair. Locs that look good but stink are not cute. Neat locs that are dried out and brittle are not cute either.
I agree with all this. Especially the feminine part. I have been hit on more than ever and I’m three months in and always have my locs out unless it’s in a headwrap. I’m also flat all around lol.🦄
I love this so much! I am 5 months in my journey and my friends who have locs look at me crazy when I tell them I wet my hair every day. My loose natural hair loves water and my locs do as well. No one knows your hair better than you! 🦄🦄🦄
I can relate to that I have to wash my hair every week and half ( I sweat a lot in my head)😩, but honestly if I go longer my scalp feels uncomfortable, plus it loc’d faster anyways 🤷🏾♀️
Greetings to all....yes this is a stressful time so I'm detoxing from social media because stress snatches my hair right out and I started my locs 3 months ago 51 locs and I did different sizes. Sending Love Light and Positive vibes 💜
I started my 2nd loc journey a couple of months ago after being a loose natural for the past 15 years. So much has changed, knowledge-wise since my first journey. Back then it was common to hear things like only a loctician can start them, don't wash your hair for months or it won't lock (my curl pattern is similar to yours) and other such nonsense. Not knowing any better I followed that advice. But this time around, I'm glad to have folks like you out here with good information, enough with the myths of the past! Funny thing is when I first went natural (about a billion years ago...lol), I had to learn my hair and now I have to again. It's been an incredible discovery process and I'm here for letting my hair, do what she wanna do. 🦄
I thought my son’s hair wouldn’t loc fast. However his hair locs faster than mine and he has 3c-ish curls. I noticed that natural coils loc faster. This makes sense since people use comb coils to start locs.
Trust yourself and the process. I'll be 4months in soon and I love them. Something new happens every single day. Take time to appreciate the beauty in it.
Girl, why is that I’m stress free? And black in America? Stop making society stress you out, you’re the boss of your own life. Anything you put your mind to, you can do it. You control your world no one else. I believe in you, so please believe in yourself! You got this! You’re beautiful and your personality is bomb! Stop making the color of your skin control your emotions, that’s only a factor to the person you are.
My story: going on almost 10 years with locs and have cut them 6, 7 or more times to maintain the length just at the small of my back; my ends are always curly. I cute scarf it when a retwist is past due! 😁😂🦄 😘🥰
I cut my locs off just before the beginning of covid, havnt cut it since (a few shape ups), now I'm at the stage where my Afro is starting to freeform and after finding your channel im seriously tempted to try again 🤣
You all are beautiful with Locs and any hairstyle you choose!!! Thank you for being on YT!! I don't have the hair for this but I admire/love learning about different types of hair!
🦄🦄🦄 So happy ur back. I can't wait 4 ur new upload schedule. I hit 6 months October 5 and I plan on making a short video that I might upload on ig. There are a few folks in my ear that are trying to make me believe a few of the lies you just mentioned. I politely nod them off cause I'm not one for confrontation or anything and I don't need anyone to agree with me but if I know something is not right 4 me I just don't do it such as retwisting ever so often and the way to retwist. I have never palm rolled and I know others do it but its 2 time consuming for me and I'm afraid of thinning locs so I choose not to but everybody in my life seems to have an opinion on this and its so annoying. Thanks 4 the video and take care till next time. And as always ur locs look amazing...
I came across your journey when you first started it, which was also around the time I started mine. I really enjoy how you talk about it being an individual path. This was my second time attempting locs but the first time I did them myself and it was amazing! I ended up combing them out cause my intuition, at the time, told me I would be receiving money for my hair. I booked a hair campaign two weeks after. I'm currently watching this video because I'm considering locking my afro again. It made me feel so free and raw to have locs. Thank you for these videos I'm encouraged again!
Your locs looked just like mine in the beginning. The bunching and the curls oh my! A beautician cut mine off and I didn’t notice that’s what she was doing until about three snips in and I just let her snip away. But now I miss them
Yes sis especially my family they always say that people who have locs, is people who doesn’t like to comb their hair. That’s why my hair is not locked up . And my brother doesn’t want me to 😩
Great tips! I’m just one year loc’d and have been through quite a journey. Mostly good thank the universe 😂but I completely agree. I say enjoy your journey bc it’s yours🦄
🦄 happy I found your channel I am thinking about getting locs. My hair is in a TWA right now. Not sure if I want to start now or when my hair grows out a bit more .
my hair was very short when i installed my locs and they unravelled no matter what i did, even when it was past 2 inches in length. so if you're starting short, have patience. i waited until my hairs were long enough to catch and gather together before i reinstalled (i started with 2 strand twists + braids depending on the section, length + texture). patience and grace is key for short locs. now i love my hair. still unruly, but i love its wildness. blessing on your journey.
you are one beautiful woman! my god! from your hair, to the flawless brown skin tone, and I must not forget the nose ring. Got dam!!! I'm jealous of your man!! lol. Ok, now that I stopped drooling...lol, I have mixed texture type hair, I dunno what type it is, but it's curly. I've heard 3C or 4A and such, I dunno what it is...How did you start your locs??? twistees? crochet-method?
Why is everyone just now feeling the stress lol I’m baffled, humans have been very evil for years now what’s the shock? Why did it have to take all this for folks to realize the world we live in 🙃
I always perceived Locs to be the epitome of femininity. I always think of a Goddess or Queen with Locs draped in jewels, gold and feathers.
I love this👑♥️🙌🏾🙏🏽
Wow😍
Yasss!!!
Yes, women with locs look so adorable and feminine. Which is why I'm here trying to loc my own hair
It’s crazy how they over sexualize us and call us manly at the same time. 🦄 🦄
Being a resident of earth is kinda of stressful 😂🤣😂💀
The fact that people assumed I was gay because I have locs is hilarious 😂 I’ve been with my man for almost 5yrs next yr. didnt know a hairstyle makes you gay? 😂

Yes ma’am! And drink water, and eat energetic foods. Healthy inside reflects beautiful health on the outside. 🦄
what are energetic foods?
Energetic foods? What’s that?
Indeed

I don't know anyone who hasn't dealt with shrinkage. Mine went from past my collarbone to up to my jawline! Way more than I expected.
My boyfriend has locs and I’m trying to learn how to take care of them properly. I love your page just in general. I love your aura.
Sis, your enchanting natural beauty combines with your friendliness and positive energy. You're super high-spirited 🦄🦄✨
I agree with all this. Especially the feminine part. I have been hit on more than ever and I’m three months in and always have my locs out unless it’s in a headwrap. I’m also flat all around lol.🦄

Trust yourself and the process. I'll be 4months in soon and I love them. Something new happens every single day. Take time to appreciate the beauty in it.
So glad I found you as soon as I started my loc journey, I really follow my intuition when it comes to my locs and I'm loving every part of them 💕💕🦄🦄

I’m starting locs, I’m starting it myself with the comb twist method. I’ve sectioned it into four sections working in my last one now
My story: going on almost 10 years with locs and have cut them 6, 7 or more times to maintain the length just at the small of my back; my ends are always curly. I cute scarf it when a retwist is past due! 😁😂🦄 😘🥰
🦄 literally just started my journey a couple of days ago so you know I’m subscribed now 😂
I cut my locs off just before the beginning of covid, havnt cut it since (a few shape ups), now I'm at the stage where my Afro is starting to freeform and after finding your channel im seriously tempted to try again 🤣

individual journeys, in loc and in life! yes!!!!🦄💜
Yes, rastas go get spring baths and they emphasize getting the natural spring water in your locs
This is coming from a bajan who hangs out by the springs
Your locs looked just like mine in the beginning. The bunching and the curls oh my! A beautician cut mine off and I didn’t notice that’s what she was doing until about three snips in and I just let her snip away. But now I miss them
Crazy she started cutting without asking or letting you know beforehand
Mia Pilar yes!! She just started snipping. ThSt was the first and only time I went back to her. She also cut the fuzzies which is a big nono
Do you have a video of how you got your hair colored like that 😍
Yes, being black in America right now doesn’t feel good at all right now
West IND y you give great information what do you think of fenugreek seeds for your hair boiling them
You have truly inspired me start my locs! Eeeeek....so excited. 🦄
Can we get a updated retwist video ✨🦄!
Yes sis especially my family they always say that people who have locs, is people who doesn’t like to comb their hair. That’s why my hair is not locked up . And my brother doesn’t want me to 😩
Watching your videos makes me just feel good. The positivity that comes through the screen is amazing !
I only retwist every 8 weeks, but I have learned the trick about 5 weeks in to retwist the front row only
Im so happy to have found this video. My hair texture as hers and im so struggling keeping my locs locked.
Great tips! I’m just one year loc’d and have been through quite a journey. Mostly good thank the universe 😂but I completely agree. I say enjoy your journey bc it’s yours🦄
That feminine part is sooo true idk what it is but like right it’s like people hit on you more every since with the locs it’s so weird 😭
The shrinkage is so real ➰✨

So Can I sleep on my hair without a durag?😭
I would say lint may ende up getting in there somewhere
What length should my hair be before installing my starter locs?
I've been trying to figure out the same thing.
At least 2 inches I believe.
my hair was very short when i installed my locs and they unravelled no matter what i did, even when it was past 2 inches in length. so if you're starting short, have patience. i waited until my hairs were long enough to catch and gather together before i reinstalled (i started with 2 strand twists + braids depending on the section, length + texture). patience and grace is key for short locs. now i love my hair. still unruly, but i love its wildness. blessing on your journey.

Why is everyone just now feeling the stress lol I’m baffled, humans have been very evil for years now what’s the shock? Why did it have to take all this for folks to realize the world we live in 🙃
