I don't know if you plan to cover it when you finish Wasteland Survival Guide, but there's actually *ANOTHER* perk attached to it that's also wildly good for no explainable reason. During any point in the questline, but before you finish all of her tasks, you can ask why Moira is even writing the guide at all. Going down that route and telling her to stop writing the Wasteland Survival Guide because how useful could it *really* be shuts her down and she stops writing it all together. Depending on when you talk her out of writing it, you'll get an amount of XP dependent on how much of the guide you finished up to that point, you get to keep all of the rewards and bonuses you got through out the quest to that point, Negative Karma, Moira becomes significantly less positive and super gloomy all the time (kind of a loss but hey what can you do) and you get Dream Crusher, an oddly amazing perk. Dream Crusher cuts the chance of an enemy critical hitting you by 50% which is already weird but really cool to get. But the odd part is that it turns Moira into one of the best merchants in Fallout 3. When you make her stop focusing on her dream of helping the wastes, she focuses on her store instead. This raises her repair skill to 54 when she's wearing her jumpsuit, making her the best in Fallout 3 at repair outside of Somah (Repair 100) who's only in Mothership Zeta, meaning since there's no Jury Rigging perk that she can handle fixing a lot of the harder to find weapons in Fallout 3. Additionally, she gives you a 30% discount on everything in Craterside Supply, which is nice to have when staying in Megaton. It's ironic that the definitively evil option makes her better than most of the merchants in Tenpenny, meaning it's fantastic for people who are wanting to stay in Megaton and will be using Moira as a junk drop off point a lot. It's for that reason that a lot of my Megaton stays include ruining her dreams, and why I usually save Power of The Atom until after finishing Wasteland Survival Guide when I'm doing a Tenpenny stay.
Whatever material gains there are to be obtained from crushing Moira's dreams will never be enough to fill the black void inside your soul from doing so.
In case TWO fallout games in one wasn't enough for you, we get some Sniper Elite in this episode! John is just too nice to us. Have a great day all. Happy Halloween!
I really like the amount of effort that went into balancing the game with this mod. The fact it doesn't just add New Vegas to Fallout 3 but goes as far as implementing items/changes that make sense: plants that would be found in the Capital Wasteland rather than the Mojave desert and those plants make sense where they are (i.e. a lot of fruit trees in Oasis). The mod adds in assets that were cut by Fallout 3 such as the Chinese commando hat and jumpsuit Jon found outside the Superduper Mart. Ammo types for weapons like the dart gun that provide different effects such as those seen with the syringer in Fallout 4. It makes so much sense from a gameplay stance and shows how much effort TTW team put in.

I was looking for the hollowed out rock to get that gear but didn't know which rock it was so I just went around the entirety of Megaton and killed all the molerats. Glad to be learning this stuff.
You might want to pick up the mod limit fix from the nexus. Edit: The mod limit fix helps with having lots of plugins (It supposedly raises the limit to 255) Creating a bashed Patch is useful if you somehow go past that but you don't exactly strike me as going too far from vanilla.
I can share a tale about this mod. There once was a person who travelled with the… I think it was fallout 3’s dogmeat? Anyway they went to vegas, and the dog wasn’t with them. So they typed into the command prompt to spawn one. Nothing. And again. And again. And so on. Until they gave up. Then they returned to the capital much later. SO MANY DOGGOS
Least to say, I'm looking forward to a nice long playthrough with Jon. Haven't really watched his videos weekly since his old total war and skyrim playthroughs.

Burke is dead set on detonating a nuclear bomb and killing hundreds... up to a point, where some random girl he just met tells him not to do it just for her Legendary simp
Moira Brown was one of the best things about fallout 3. she was just so danged chipper that it was hard to be mad at her for the things she asked. Not to mention there's a certain pride that goes with doing a top notch job on the survival guide.
Plus, you're literally a volunteer and can say no, and she'll have no hard feelings about it. She is just asking if you will take a job, and pays you pretty well for it.
This is going to be the best series ever. How long until he installs Sprint and Fallout-4-style Interfaces (accessing containers without opening them fully)
If you disarm/kill Burke between the time he draws his gun on Simms and when he actually shoots him, Simms has a unique line of dialogue, It's a cool detail I don't think a lot of people will have seen before
i cant believe ive played this so much and didnt know that your speech chance improves if your weapon is away. great series jon, really enjoying it and learning a lot lol

It doesn't really change the UI too much but one thing I love is that with it both the DR and DT of armors are shown on the pipboy at once, no need to wait for them to switch in and out. Also when in your aid tab it shows you your hunger and H20 value. Super handy!
HEY JOHN if you grab the sniper rifel from the holo rock and go up a hill far enough away you can snipe Stockholm outside megaton and take his stuff without being attacked, it’s a good way to good combat armor early though it may take a few times

For Leo Stahl, you can actually catch him in the act up at the water plant
Im excited for this for lots of reasons, but one because this is probably gonna run for year(s) and im always down to watch some MATN
This and Oblivion. My new favorite RUclips channel.
HAH! Jon you FOOL! You said you were going to show off EVERYTHING! Did you know? If you meet Lucas Simms while wearing a Vault suit, his greeting is different, mentioning how he hasn't seen a vault suit in a while!
Leo: You're a good person for helping me out.
**Vault Dweller looting his stash for personal benefit**
Yeah yeah, whatever you say, junkie.
Playing Fallout 3 for the first time, so enjoying this series in particular (outside of the New Vegas add-ons) to learn the game.
Boost.
Boost again.
I really think this will help, 😊
*Boost* 👍
True but how the heck is Jon crashing the game when it's basically vanilla lmao, he probably has like 20 plugins
@@TheLazyFinn Creation Engine games are held together with spaghetti code and wishful thinking. I'd be shocked if it never crashed.
My two favorite games combined. If I ever get a PC ima try to play this
I can share a tale about this mod.
SO MANY DOGGOS
the wasteland survival guide is the greatest quest in Bethesda history, and Moira is the best character in Bethesda history
Exclusive preview of next weeks episode: "COME BACK AND ACCEPT YOUR INEVITABLE GNOMING"
This series is gonna take forever to finish in 1 hour segments.
Least to say, I'm looking forward to a nice long playthrough with Jon. Haven't really watched his videos weekly since his old total war and skyrim playthroughs.
Comrade John with the Sniper rifle. Already looking iconic
I love how excited Jon is about playing these games/this mod! I love it when he does videos like this, where he's just excited and happy to play and he's sharing that with us
In the Brass Lantern, there's a note stuffed into a corner in the room with the terminal that bypasses the hack. You can only grab it by going in 3rd person and spinning the camera.
I love the title of ever episode it just gives every episode a nice stylistic dedication and I love it!
Hi Jon, thank you for this series, I love your work and I love Fallout 3, just one complaint: I need more of this as soon as you can produce it, thanks!
I followed your nuka world level 1 and your lonesome road level 1 and have had so much fun. love you john
Pedants' Corner at 27:52 - Jon, you fell into the classic trap of confusing "rob" with "steal from". Loving this series so far; keep them coming!
This is quickly becoming one of my favourite series
Jon! I’ve been waiting all day for this. Bless your soul ❤
Hell yes been waiting forverrr, yes the locker was suppose to be on the front wall not the side
This is going to be the best series ever
"We got plenty of skill points, I think we're fine" *takes comprehension*
This series is everything I ever wanted
been looking forward to this all week!
Burke is dead set on detonating a nuclear bomb and killing hundreds... up to a point, where some random girl he just met tells him not to do it just for her
Legendary simp
Moira Brown was one of the best things about fallout 3. she was just so danged chipper that it was hard to be mad at her for the things she asked. Not to mention there's a certain pride that goes with doing a top notch job on the survival guide.
Plus, you're literally a volunteer and can say no, and she'll have no hard feelings about it. She is just asking if you will take a job, and pays you pretty well for it.
This is going to be the best series ever. How long until he installs Sprint and Fallout-4-style Interfaces (accessing containers without opening them fully)
Nice I was just looking for this video and seconds later I found it.
i love when wanda goes into alternate universes to show what might have been.
Was it Wanda or wonder? Lol
Hopefully Dr. Strange can stop her
If you disarm/kill Burke between the time he draws his gun on Simms and when he actually shoots him, Simms has a unique line of dialogue,
It's a cool detail I don't think a lot of people will have seen before
I remember reloading a save over and over again just so save simms
After having played through Fallout 3 recently, I think you are absolutely right, that locker was definitely closer to the door previously
The last video prompted me to revisit Underrail and i'm having a ton of fun now both with this video series and the game
Yes. I’d adore this as a full series.
I'll never understand Jon's obsession with the Rock-it launcher. What a waste of caps!
i cant believe ive played this so much and didnt know that your speech chance improves if your weapon is away. great series jon, really enjoying it and learning a lot lol
Loving this so far!
You can kill Mr Burke just as he pulls his pistol out before he kills Lucas and you get some unique dialogue from Lucas!
Thank you John for your work.
I;m absolutely loving this, F3 is just a gem and a half
The Megaton home is my favorite house in all game franchises. I just love the whole city. It feels like a virtual home in some way. Like the only really friendly spot in the wasteland u will see in a long time. If i was really the lone wanderer, i would also live in Megaton for sure.
this feels like watching dora sometimes
"what weapon will we switch to?"
the single shotgun
"the baseball bat!"
That locker definitely was in the wrong spot lol
39:30 I just realized that Silver hesitated calling Moriarty a liar. This leads me to believe that she just made up how she got the caps and in fact did steal them. Moriarty didn't send anyone for the caps before you. Not only does she have 400 caps but she also has a ton of chems for someone like her to own/earn.
Yeah, I think she's playing you, although Moriarty is such a horrible bastard I can't blame her for trying to cut and run.
i can't get enough of fallout series you do you, i watch simple
Hey Jon, your last vid got me to try out Tale of Two Wastelands and it's been a blast. Also playing it on hardcore, I had no idea Wadsworth gave out 5 waters a day! I had just been taking one! That'll come in handy. BTW I super recommend you check out Vanilla UI Plus mod, it's on moddb not the nexus anymore. It doesn't really change the UI too much but one thing I love is that with it both the DR and DT of armors are shown on the pipboy at once, no need to wait for them to switch in and out. Also when in your aid tab it shows you your hunger and H20 value. Super handy!
Thanks for this, it's a wonderful return to our world
OM Goodness!! "Wanda!" 😍 I don't know why that makes me so happy! 😅
Yay! Something to make my day a little better. ✨️
I always take black widow. It's just such a good perk.
I randomly stumbled across the last (first) video today, right before you uploaded this one. Impeccable timing!
Enjoy waiting ~165 hours for the third video. ;)
@@steliokontos3935 Oh God and now I'm gonna have your theme song stuck in my head til then 🤣
40:26 "Her potatoes are a lot more interesting than they would be otherwise." Oh my.
Bloody hell. Talking to Stockholm, always wondered... never thought possible. Amazing.
Mr Burke is Lucien Lachance from the dark brotherhood in oblivion. Relevant now that Jon is playing oblivion
HEY JOHN if you grab the sniper rifel from the holo rock and go up a hill far enough away you can snipe Stockholm outside megaton and take his stuff without being attacked, it’s a good way to good combat armor early though it may take a few times
I can't believe you managed to pass that speech check with only 20%! I had way more than that and he still snubbed me. I also didn't get warrick to show up so I guess my playthrough isn't bless. Please do the Evergreen Mills bazaar soon, I just can't wait to see your reaction to what the mod added!
56:27 “A rock-it launcher schematic so defective it broke New Vegas”
Come on, be honest Jon, it doesn’t take much to break New Vegas
I was really looking forward to this one :)
53:40 -- Jon just... skipping over lunchboxes hurt a bit, tbh.
Caravan lunches and bottlecap mines!
Never seen that Leo mission, excited to see what I’ve missed from this game even after playing it so many times
I haven’t been this excited for a series in a long time:)
