It fell the day they announced they want to branch out more in the US and James Wokeslop popped up. When I heard that news I knew it was going down this road and it's too late.
Great thing is, we don't actually have to. There's enough second hand spues out there with complete kits on to keep us all going for decades, the fan fiction can out grow the black library easily. All we need to do is instead of fighting it, just ignore and do our own thing using the pre-femstodes GW as a framework for anything we do. It'll have thier legal/IP Portection dept going absolutely nuts.

Man at this point I am so fed up with this shit. I dont need a manifacturer of plastic miniatures to lecture me about politics. They are here to sell me toys and not to preach to me. The same goes to every medium connected to the hobby. Shut up about your political views. I dont care, what a company, a youtuber,or whoever from the hobbybubble thinks. If I want to engage in politics, I consume political philosophers or other people worth their salt.

Remember - GW sales have already started to slip, in spite of their profits. It may take a few more years, but GW will be slapped with the consequences of its behaviour.
Conversely, the inevitable crash may actually come a hell of a lot sooner if the wider economic situation in the West doesn't improve (which it won't). I can't vouch for other countries, but here in Canada, the average Canadian spends almost $2 for every dollar they make. Something like that isn't sustainable, and will inevitably crush their consumer practices to dust.
It seems like games workshops always trying to saw off it's own legs I've never seen a company manage itself so badly and antagonize it's community so much so regularly.

If nothing else, the fact they stealth-edited the article shows that someone in the Warhammer Community staff still has a lick of common sense (I can imagine the editor screaming "WTF ARE YOU DOING!?" at the moron who wrote this). Especially with the Trench Crusade stuff being DOA, the last thing they want is for players to have a reason to lose interest in the hobby entirely.

The community needs to crowdfund Henry cavill so he can buy the god damn IP from GW. At this rate the warhammer IP will become dirt cheap and amazon is gonna dig in its talons unless we make em think that no one wants the IP.

GW has been woke for a while now. Just look at D&D. 40k was always going to be woke it was just a matter of when not if. The same will happen to anime.
