I'm fine when it's done properly in games, and thats the issue, its added to tickbox, not added for an actual engrossing storyline. Games do it for profit, rather than actual representation. It's true that many white people don't seem to care about racism directed towards them. You're misunderstanding diversity hires. I will explain in 3 easy steps. 1. I am sure you agree, white people and minorities are equally intelligent and talented. 2. Video game companies were basically exclusively white men even 15 years ago. 3. This means we are missing out on great minority game developers so we are course correcting my forcing gaming companies to find those previously neglected talents with diversity. In the vast majority of these situations you can keep your best white developers but by consciously looking for the people who usually don't get those opportunities you are likely to find the great minority developers as well that may have been missed previously.
You can say this all you want but there have been people in the games industry that have actually said not being a minority in some sense will make it so you can't get into the industry at virtually any company.

One of the best things about platforms like RUclips or twitch is you can watch some gameplay footage of a game before buying it to see if it's really as bad as you thought.
I'm fine when it's done properly in games, and thats the issue, its added to tickbox, not added for an actual engrossing storyline.
Games do it for profit, rather than actual representation. As much as I hate the word "Woke" (its lost meaning its used that much, and that flippantly and broadly). They can add gay/trans lgbtq representation, as long as the story is ACTUALLY GOOD. and handled with the due care it needs.
But labelling everything as "woke" (ew) causes issues for people who are apart of these minorities because your seen as a sort of grift to get attention, rather than an actual person.
Companies need to realise to focus on stories and how they communicate it in games, rather than more is better. Because it does more harm for the actual minorities rather than promote actual equality and BALANCE.
The second half to this is all these dickheads who use the greed of companies to attack minorities, even though most of the time these minorities don't even like these all inclusive games either.
People see a strong female character and go "GRR WOKE GAME" and then use it as an excuse to attack masculine women, or trans, lgbtq+ people. And that's the other half of the issue I have.
I had no issue with Dion being gay in FF16, shit i didnt even know he was gay till he kissed dude. Dion was just written so well i loved his character and felt for him through game.
Tectone you really dont have to be a bigot, some of the best games today have prominent gay characters and games arent bad because they include them, they are bad if they are bad.
why would anyone think Naughty dog out of all devs would create a bad game is absolutely insane, we are talking about some of the highest rated devs in the entire industry whose last game was their literal magnum opus. There are black individuals who claim they will be turned into slaves or that slavery still exists, using whatever excuse they can. Many from the generation born after 2000 do not even know the true meaning of slavery or what it was like for slaves. They use it as an excuse, though not all black people do this. I have friends who are disgusted when they hear such claims and question if the person even understands what they are talking about or knows what slavery was like. In my younger days, I had an elderly black man whom I called grandpa. He shared his experiences and those of his family, including his father, enduring such hardships. He would listen to what young black people said about slavery before he passed away in the early 2000s, around 2003. He couldn't understand why they made those claims. While I won't say most, there are some black people who use the term "slavery" without truly understanding its meaning. And yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and throw this in here. I agree with him, as I often say it myself. I believe that some individuals are too ignorant to realize they are being insulted. It's true that many white people don't seem to care about racism directed towards them. They often hold an idealistic belief that they have a higher moral ground, thinking they are superior to others. This is particularly common among white people. I dislike hearing my little brother claim he has "white privilege." I told him that in our circumstances, there is no such thing. I see this behavior frequently and admit that I have expressed similar sentiments. While I don't believe all white people are ignorant about such issues, many simply don't care if they are called derogatory names. They are indifferent to such insults.
To add onto that, from what I've learn, white privilege doesn't mean having an advantage or easier life, it's like a culture thing, for example there's the whole police thing where black people are so taught and used to police brutality seeing a white cop is a scary experience but white people aren't gonna be more worried depending on the race of the cop. Like how you can say guys have some privilege for not constantly have to worry about getting raped. It doesn't mean advantages, just certain situations that apply more to others than you. You're misunderstanding diversity hires. I will explain in 3 easy steps. 1. I am sure you agree, white people and minorities are equally intelligent and talented. 2. Video game companies were basically exclusively white men even 15 years ago. 3. This means we are missing out on great minority game developers so we are course correcting my forcing gaming companies to find those previously neglected talents with diversity. In the vast majority of these situations you can keep your best white developers but by consciously looking for the people who usually don't get those opportunities you are likely to find the great minority developers as well that may have been missed previously.
