Original snare being seamless and the new one being rolled/welded
That’s a bummer. I was thinking of getting one.
@tuslokbaki9579 You might be able to find an original for less that the reissue and it's the original real deal.
The current one is much better
i still use my original 6.5x14 8056 on stage and in studio
Not a SEAMLESS shell! Disappointed Tama! I'll keep my $950!
goin for that 80s crimson bruford sound, been tryna get my hands on an original but almost all of the ones for sale ive seen are rusted or pitted horribly, glad they reissued this masterpiece
Why have the reissue other lugs than the original maatercraft series from the 80's ?
I used to play The Birch with Wood Inlay model. It was a very choked sound and wasn’t easy to open up the sound. There was a reason why these went away.
I've had one since 1983 and it's one of the best snare drums I've ever played. It can go from a roar to a whisper. Everything else is subdued compared to this beast.
I have an original 5" steel Mastercraft from the early 80s in near perfect condition. Best steel snare I've played. Tama should start selling replacement lugs for that era drum.
The rodgers lugs are identical and still produced if you're in need
@@jasonrobelia8829sweet. Thank you

“TAR-MA” !!!! A fitting tribute would be to pronounce the name correctly !!
How come you don't explain the one touch muffler is a Dual function..you can turn the ribbed wheel to adjust the amount of tension of the muffler, then use the Wing
I’ve a king beat 14x5” it is an amazing snare and this one sounds similar regarding the full rounded steel sound, personally, I really recommend to get one of this along of course with the Terminator re issue, both snares are killer.
So, you have seen me getting into your historic catalogs, right?
Glad you did.
Is the reissue seamless like the original?
Perfect for ST. ANGER album tribute !!! 👌😁
St Anger snare was a ludwig vistalite cranked to the max according to Bob Rock. So basically any snare tuned to shit and played like Lars will do the job.
@@dconvergadon5281you are correct, it was a Ludwig.
The "oenk" is to much..
For me is a perfect sound😍
Love you guys! 🌟🥁🎶
The hoops aren't triple flanged though. It would have been dope with triple flanged hoops. 🥁
only the Powerline metal , royalstar and swingstar used triple flanged
Why? Flanged hoops could always be used when needed if you purchased this drum.
I had an original but it had a parallel strainer.
That's the King Beat version. I have one of those and a Mastercraft. Two of my favorites.
@@jaynorthrop7456 I wish I haden't sold mine lol
