Cause she surrendered in order to save her friend from a bullet wound she got in the chest or stomach (which ever) so while incarcerated and chained up and shit they gave her the news that her friend died
Eff her. She deserved her suffering. She was unnecessarily cruel, and had zero remorse for what she did. Lucy was terrible, and used her own pain-which was minimal) to repeatedly harm others, even when it wasnt necessary.
Just so you know in the manga it's revealed that the girl Aiko Takada was her name, survived and that Kurama only lied about her death so Lucy would have no reason to want to escape to see her.
sonicshuffler OMG you have no idea how much of a relieve u gave me with this info! At least now i feel that Lucy didn't surrender for nothing. The girl survived :')
I wish they had kept the part in the manga when Chief Kurama had taunted Lucy about this and had said, "You know, this all could've been avoided if you hadn't resisted. If you had simply agreed to live in coexistence with humans." That would've made this scene even *more* sad and it would also show more about why Lucy hates humans so much. Lucy even thought to herself, "I wasn't the one who refused to coexist. It was you humans who wouldn't accept me."
It's been forever since I read the manga. However, I believe I read it mangahere.co. Since it varies greatly from the anime, you will have to start at the very beginning.
It does have more content. In fact, the scene where Lucy breaks out at the beginning I believe has her having a conversation with Karuma after killing that girl among other things.
Vidia Ree Not to mention probably none of this would have happened if diclonii weren't living under the influence that they were made to destroy humanity.
Lucy at this point in time remindes us that she still cared. She found someone who saw her as a friend. She’s not a monster, but still had feelings like that of a human being. It’s what makes other treat us like monsters that makes us become that way.
No one, supernatural or not, no one deserves to feel the sadness that lucy went through her whole life. If you ask me i'd say at least a few of the thousands that she's killed were justified (In particular the boys from the orphanage and kurama's director.) Think about it, what would you do if you were in her shoes.
Hawkeye 43 yet humanity thinks different if it were real. In fact this bring new meaning to the word diversity. If you put a race(black, white, etc) between a group of other races. Would they get along or make that person life miserable.
It doesn't help that Kaede always had the DNA voice telling her to kill. If the people in her life didn't reinforce the misanthropy she felt her whole life due to the voice, she probably could have been a character like Nana
Saddest part for me was when she's apologising to Khota on the steps and she finally is completely intimate with him, despite all the things that have happened to them, and then she lets herself get killed because she doesn't feel she can be with him. Even thinking about it makes me tear up so bad. I thought I could watch this again without getting too upset now that I'm 30 (was 16 the first time I watched it) but I forgot that it was the ending that messed me up and it still got to me. Now I have to grieve for days, again.
Elfen lied is such a piece of art when you go beyond the nudity and blood. I finally decided to have her eye from the opening tattooed in my inner arm so i never forget it.
This truly was the saddest scene. Because other than Kouta, Lucy meets another friend who loves and accepts her for who she is. Lucy becoming the way she is (A merciless killer) could have been avoided if humanity had accepted her instead of bullying her and showing her so much cruelty where she is most vulnerable. ( As a child, I mean.) This scene is what made me feel horrible for her the most. Smh.
Ikr? This scene is the only one that moved me from this entire series. You see, when I was little, my older sister and I were caught in a drive by on our way to school. She was killed instantly, but my reaction was almost identical to Lucy's... only I started wailing hysterically instead of pleading for someone to save her.
My top 2 saddest scenes are 1. When Kurama explodes with Mariko 2. Lucy and Kouta talking about how sorry they are and how much they still care about each other, but Kouta not being able to forgive her.
Ironically the reason why Lucy was caught and Aiko was killed was because she joined her DNA voice and began killing people so in return the voice would make a place for her to live without the loneliness (and instead all she ever gained was even more loneliness and misery). What’s even more ironic is that it’s when she have no memories of the DNA and also have no intentions of killing people when she finally reunites with Kouta and makes some friends.

So basically this is humanity being very scared of a new type of human being dominant. Which wouldn't take long. Out with the old in with the new seems to happen a lot in nature.
Yeah I know. Those guys who held Lucy captured and tortured her were simply scared of the new species (Diclonius) that were superior to humans. They thought what they were doing was right, but it's downright cruel. Humans are really terrible when they are "allowed" to be.
Actually, she was 18 in the anime. She was about 10 or 11 around the time she killed the orphanage bullies and met Kouta, then afterwards she laid low for a few years before meeting Aiko, and at this point she is about 15 years old. And since she was captured soon after meeting Aiko, she was 15 at the time of her capture, and was held for 3 years at the facility, making her 18 at the time of her escape. If you look more closely, you can see that Lucy's hair is longer and her physical features are maturing by the time she met Aiko, compared to when she first met Kouta, where she had short hair and the smaller body of a child.
Lucy's friendship with Aiko was almost like her redemption for what she did to Kouta. She found someone who loved her regardless of what she was, and she swore to protect her. Everyone did work on their own side which happen a lot in real life but not everything is pictured with an anime to focus on the life of 1 character mostly so people would try to understand her while she is really flashy with some things to say . This could have been avoided if everyone was treated properly . Plus If people tried to understand kaede and why she was different and how then it might have been okay .
I think Lucy had a more brutal yet smart way for not killing kurama there’s fates worse than death so Lucy chose not to kill him but make him suffer by her killing his people including kisaragi and almost killed nana

This episode clearly justifies what Lucy did in episode 1. Locking her up in that small chamber in darkness for years is no joke. All people see is the nuidity in this anime which is the least important thing in the plot.
The reason why they tracked her in the first place was because she was on a killing spree. Murdering bystanders for no reason. This is what drew their attention. Her capture was caused by her own actions for which she is accoubtable.
i thought this was the saddest death of all!!!!!!!!!!!!! im not able to cry easily, but this death gets me every time! i cry every. single. time! no wonder Lucy hates humans!
The true irony in this series having watched and read the manga is that Lucy isolated herself. While I like her character and feel bad for her life. She made a choice to become a psychopath. She wasn’t at first. And she knew it was wrong. She therefore isn’t sick in the head. She’s just sick, sick personality. If she didn’t have those powers I doubt she’d be out murdering. She slaughtered people on site. Than cried about being alone. She tried to even kill friends so that her secret wouldn’t get out to kouta. If she truly loved him she wouldn’t have killed his entire family, especially the way that she did. Anyone saying otherwise must be 12 watching this series. People have been through far worse than her. And didn’t turn out the way she did. She’s a bad person, end of story, she made a choice to become bad. She could have been fine had she had a better up bringing but she’s unfeeling and remorseless, sadistic, and truly evil. Nothing gave her the right to kill people on spot for being different from her just as society had no right to treat her poorly.
StrangeHappenings Lucy had a lot of mental problems, yes she Ultimately chose to be the way she did and I acknowledge that she needed to be put down but her past is nonetheless tragic and she could’ve turned out differently if humans weren’t cruel to her, hell she only lost it when her “friend” at the orphanage betrayed her which resulted in her beloved puppy dying if that never happened I’m pretty sure she would’ve turned out fine.
@@thomasraines1396 I'm pretty sure her actions could have conjured more hateful people like her. Just like we don't know the background of her bullies, many don't know her background as well. It will lead to the creation if bitter people seeking vengeance. Imagine an alternate reality where Kouta declares war on all diocloniuses like Eren Jaegar.
It was a special OVA episode i believe. It was like 10.5 and it didn't come with the main series. Itès a piss off because even though the episode is nothing special outside of this. . .it make Lucy so much more relatable and tragic. It also explains how they caught her
kurama is a dick. Bandou had his reasons to want to kill her i suppose, it started as a mission for him, and then turned into a quest for revenge. Manga makes him look like more of a hero, and he was, the anime misrepresented him as an epic douchebag. i wanted him to die on the first episode because of kouta and lucy. Then i see what happens because a few scenes where he is protecting people from dicloni among other things.
+The Lunar tic On the grass He also has deep respect for the environment too, as he often complains about garbage on the beach, and even confronts a litterbug at some point.
we need to understand that deep inside Kurama is a compassionate person, who feels disgusted by his own action. Because of that not all his actions were well planned as he cannot think clearly.
this part is really sad... but i don't think its the saddest in my opinion. the saddest in my opinion is marikos death and mayus story. Lucy's story does touch with me personally, but i still don't think hers is the saddest
Kurama you son of a bitch , you don't know what kaede -Kun has been through, so don't you dare say that she didn't want to cooperate with the humans, many people might been killed, not by Lucy-San , but by people like you, curse you, kurama, and yet, you're the worst father, for either nana and Mariko, and even though Nana-San say you're careful enough with her... I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT'S ENOUGH!!! *punches kurama in his freaking face and break up his glasses *
These scientist are so fucking mean. Lucy tried so hard to accept how mean they were to her. Remember those boys? If humanity didn't push her past her limits it would if been fine. And they saw how much Lucy liked that girl, she gave up her freedom for her. If they saw her do that why don't they fucking realized diclonius aren't the monsters they see they are. If humanity would leave them alone and accept them then so many people wouldn't of died. They're supposed to be smart scientist. Why don't they fucking realized! But all I know they're assholes and I'm just someone writing too long of comments.

AND THAT'S WHY NYU KEEPS SAYING NYU
You sure? Aiko is dead and...how could she turn to Lucy/Kaede?
She’s not Nyu, her name is Aiko
@@ちゃんのび-i7p Spoiler
Aiko isn’t really dead Kurama lied so Lucy wouldn’t escape
i remember this from the manga, really sad
That guy diserved be force feed Mariko's giblets while having his body slowly cut to ribbons inch by inch
Everyone did work on their own side which happen a lot in real life but not everything is pictured with an anime to focus on the life of 1 character mostly so people would try to understand her while she is really flashy with some things to say . This could have been avoided if everyone was treated properly . Plus
If people tried to understand kaede and why she was different and how then it might have been okay .
its true the scene was the saddest and the speech at the very end
Dam I remember theorizing so hard that the gurl was reincarnated nyu (before reading the manga)
I think Lucy had a more brutal yet smart way for not killing kurama there’s fates worse than death so Lucy chose not to kill him but make him suffer by her killing his people including kisaragi and almost killed nana
in the memory karama said his wife and daughter died then back in reality he said i wont let you kill her not mariko
Mariko is officially dead, but kurama didn't kill her.
Well . . Kurama says ''i won't let you kill Mariko! '' and he is like ''i totally won t let you win ! '''
So he points a gun at Mariko the 1 st time he sees her ^^
Then he is like ''ok well . . Kinda a lot of pressure . . Uh . . All this data and other uh . . Seriously ok let ' s go for a walk (he be like: kill me already . . I totally want to die . . No escape uh ? Yea not gonna return to my job tomorrow ''
You know your mother loved you (and i tried to kill you but i won t tell you this let s just end it shouldn t tell you the reality and the corruption of this world well ok gonna say some more things anyway when the bomb gonna work ? )
-.- seriously if Mariko did know what kind of things her father would let her live maybe she would collaborate since the start with her ''adoptive mother '' and would only wait to be useful like nana so she could live and would really try to make sense of everything she feels
Yes you aren t suppose to wait the best gifts from your parents adoptive or not
They might just back stab you when they feel like
The world can also make you backstab yourself while corrupting you so don t let that happen .
I don t know my genetical father and i don t want to know him . Elfen lied made me think about the meaning of what a father could be would it be a great thing to know who he is and what he did live and what he will do in the futur but . . Knowing way more about this world made me understand that i don t need to know this person , thanks for creating me but i don t need to know you , a father is only a social burden and a pain for my mind for someone like me , i would have prefered to have 10 or more parents that are high quality very skillful and kind scientist that would have helped me to develop myself in this world and would always do everything so i would be protected from any types of harm and would do their best to understand everything about me and interact with me .
Chief Kurama is the true monster.
I haven’t seen this scene in the anime. Was it cut out and why?
Tjis was SO SAD in the manga

Lucy's Nyu is so qt omg
Mayu has Nana's pacman hoodie.
So this scene is super tragic but the way the girl said she liked her and stuff like I got the "I LOVE YOU - G/G" vibe...
This episode clearly justifies what Lucy did in episode 1. Locking her up in that small chamber in darkness for years is no joke. All people see is the nuidity in this anime which is the least important thing in the plot.
Oh Lucy you’re alive?👀👀
@@hassanshibani221 Why is that a question.
@@Lucy_595 cuz I thought you died in the last episode
The reason why they tracked her in the first place was because she was on a killing spree. Murdering bystanders for no reason. This is what drew their attention. Her capture was caused by her own actions for which she is accoubtable.
Was this an OVA episode? I dont recall seeing any of that in the anime.
Yes it is a OVA
It's episode 10.5
Kurama reminds me of hearts from dragon ball heroes. The voice and look
"I WON'T LET YOU KILL MARIKO"
she smashed Mariko some times later in the original manga....
I actually cried. X'(
i thought this was the saddest death of all!!!!!!!!!!!!! im not able to cry easily, but this death gets me every time! i cry every. single. time! no wonder Lucy hates humans!
I choose to forget everything past this scene and believe they married and moved to norway Kouta can stay with his creepy cousin or something
The good Norway ending
I was happy I was so happy that little children died ever in my life in that scene
so the scence where the dog got killed and lucy killed the boys and the girl was 5 years ago? interesting!
am I the only one that don't have feelings in this world

5:44 😨😳😰😱😰😰
Isn't this in the OVA between episode 10 and 11?
@@Niani23455 that is true.
Why is this scene not on the DVD ?
It was cut. I don't understand why, either.
Tsuruko Sakae Yeah. This scene is a very important information about Lucy and her past.
Alina Turner ya think? It would have made more sense for the anime. I'm pretty sure it specifies the scene in the manga chapters.
Tsuruko Sakae this scene from episode 10.5 (ova).. the old dvd releases didn't include it in.. the new bluray/dvd release have it.
OnePieceQ8 Cool, Thanks.
what i dont remember this at all and ive seen it 4 times
i think its 10,5. ive seen everything besides that one, and i have never seen this one...

what episode is this?? i dont remember watching this scene
same here what episode is this from
10.5 episode I think
Thats the secret Elfenlied Scene
I think it was karma (but still sad)
I didn't find this scene in 13 episodes, then where can you watch this?
There's a 20+ minute OVA that takes place around episode 11 IIRC
How come I don't remember this?
It was a special OVA episode i believe. It was like 10.5 and it didn't come with the main series. Itès a piss off because even though the episode is nothing special outside of this. . .it make Lucy so much more relatable and tragic. It also explains how they caught her
sanji voice actor
why nyu just 100% like lucy
Where are all the scenes from i have seen the anime but some of them i cant tell where they are from
Yep same.
but other than that poor lucy whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy why did you humans kill her freinds😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
kurama is a dick.
Cough nana cough cough
we need to understand that deep inside Kurama is a compassionate person, who feels disgusted by his own action. Because of that not all his actions were well planned as he cannot think clearly.
IM TRYING TO FIND AN ACTUALLY SCARY ANIME. THIS SHIT WAS FUNNY, AND SO WAS TOKYO MAGNITUDE 8.0…. HELP ME
this part is really sad... but i don't think its the saddest in my opinion. the saddest in my opinion is marikos death and mayus story. Lucy's story does touch with me personally, but i still don't think hers is the saddest
Category: music....
Hmmmm....
I put this coment I "am sympatsize with lonely sadness and with lucy 👩🏻❤️💋👩🏼🚬☔️💔🎓cancer killing me and lonly..

i did't see this sceenes.and my grammar is bad.ik
Kurama you son of a bitch , you don't know what kaede -Kun has been through, so don't you dare say that she didn't want to cooperate with the humans, many people might been killed, not by Lucy-San , but by people like you, curse you, kurama, and yet, you're the worst father, for either nana and Mariko, and even though Nana-San say you're careful enough with her... I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT'S ENOUGH!!!
*punches kurama in his freaking face and break up his glasses *
Did I skip an episode?? Why don’t I remember this scene at all???

Um... where are all these scenes from
Wait,is this an ova?i just watched it and havent seen this part
Which episode?
I thought her name was 'mew'
Bugün de ağladık şükür dkdjdkdof
These scientist are so fucking mean. Lucy tried so hard to accept how mean they were to her. Remember those boys? If humanity didn't push her past her limits it would if been fine. And they saw how much Lucy liked that girl, she gave up her freedom for her. If they saw her do that why don't they fucking realized diclonius aren't the monsters they see they are. If humanity would leave them alone and accept them then so many people wouldn't of died. They're supposed to be smart scientist. Why don't they fucking realized!
But all I know they're assholes and I'm just someone writing too long of comments.
