🤔Yep thats how its done 👊
Atleast kinda how it’s done lol
Great video guys
Almost no redfish were harmed in the making of this video
Yes, absolutely perfect.
What about the meat around the jaw?
Good point, forgot to add that
The camera angles were exquisite and the redfish was amazing
Like Mike Fishing & Gaming I see you have a new name!
What size fillet knife?
I believe a 7 or 9 inch
gonna give this a try NeXT time!
Did it work out?
@@FatBellyFishing yup
That’s how I do it. You can almost see thru it. Nice job.
Thanks buddy, I think that’s the best way todo it
What about the belly meat
Forgot Went back for it after vid.
was nice way to clean thanks
Paul Reza thanks for watching Paul!
@@FatBellyFishing you must welcome dude
is red fish supposed to crumble? Seems like everytime i get one it crumbles
When you fillet it or cook it?
@@FatBellyFishing both
That's exactly how my buddies taught me. Growing up my father was from Sicily where they usually just clean the fish and cook it whole. So I learned later from friends how to clean and filet this excat way
I think it’s the easiest way
Great vid man thanks
No, thank you sir!
😎Always looks easy when somebody else does it but when I do it I get frustrated👍🏽
Amen to that. That’s why I let my buddies do it lol
nice job. if you leave the 1st side partially on, the 2nd side is a little easier to cut.
Best Yet !
Thank you joe! I appreciate it. It’s not much but it’s honest work lol
Interesting technique cutting above the ribs like that. There are about as many ways to clean a fish as there are to catch them, or as there are ways to skin the proverbial cat besides starting at the tail.
Good info. Thanks to Capt. August for the info and thanks to Logan for sharing.
Thanks for watching capt mike says hi
Some great information my friend 👍
Thanks for watching sir
is the belly meat not worth trying to keep?
Some people like it but most people don’t use it
A lot of wasted meat there! Just kidding, I feel like someone always says that on these videos! Good job guys.
They usually do, thanks buddy
Really good video
Thank you Nedo!
I need to know where the party is at! Good vid!
Homosassa this time! I sent the invitations out via mail pigeon
yes thatb was good but let me tell how my grand pa did it lol just clowning i like how simple it is in this video never been the best with cleaning and filleting fish so thank you for video
I try to make things simple across the board
😂
Most entertaining way to clean a fish!
We try
Camera work is incredible here lmao
After a few beers it’s amazing how your skills behind a camera go up!
This is hilarious I caught my first redfish today! I caught 2 we got them filleted already though
nice buddy! did you fry them up yet?
FatBelly Fishing sure did! We cooked them in butter and old bay seasoning and they were delicious
Nice no fingers were lost in this Word challenge, 😂😂😂, what butter knives are those, 👊👊🎣🎣
Almost lost a few fingers along with my words lol
🤣🤣🤣
And great video
Thanks buddy, I’ll message you back after work
The good thing about redfish is they taste good .....no matter how big they get....I only wish they would raise the limit ......to at least eight .....there seems to be an abundance of them everywhere.
Amen to that
Dude that was awesome! The Crab were super cool we just have like minnows and crayfish in our fish guts. have you ever flattened out the belly meat and eat that too?
I have never tried that but I know there’s a lot of people that will eat it like that.
That laugh at 3:14 was the best
We laugh like idiots all the time
I'll use this as a reference next time, I gotta get better fillet knives haha
Knife is soooo important. Danco makes solid cheap knifes
Did you bleed the fish first? Since there is no blood when you cut thru the fish
Yes I usually bleed them
3:23 it's OK I'm French and both of you had it wrong 😂👌
If it’s wrong I don’t wanna be right
@@FatBellyFishing racist
Idk what we are even talking about tbh I haven’t gone back to watch what is at 3:23
@@FatBellyFishing Dijon pronunciation good sir
What is the proper way to say it?
If u grandpa taught u. 😂😂😂😂
I always blacken my redfish or grill it. One of the best tasting fish.
You can blacken them .....you can bake them .....you can grill them ......you can fry them.....in other words they're a damn good fish .....people who never fished in saltwater have no idea what they're missing .
@@charlesljones2454 Super good. I love saltwater.
@@briarfox637 tell me about it ....I now live in Atlanta .....all of my relatives live in lake Charles Louisiana ......you can't drive five miles in any direction without salt or brackish water ......but here in Atlanta the closest saltwater in Georgia is the Savannah area ......a long drive .....I try to go salt water fishing twice a year.......loved living in Louisiana but the hurricanes made me hitch up my wagon and get the hell on....I can remember the good ol days ......coming home with an ice chest full of redfish ....speckled trout ....flounder .....sheepshead ...drum .....croaker ....big alligator gar ......and occasionally something nobody could identify......those days will always be in my memories.
I want to try some fried
I used to live just south of Georgia and have to drive 2 hours to salt
Great video but I learned nothing new ......to me redfish and speckled trout are two of the easiest saltwater species to filet .....sheepshead and flounder are more challenging ....but thanks for the video......many people who try to scale these monsters are in for a tough task......I've found the belly meat and the meat around the entrails to be quite tender and tasty.
Sheepshead are a whole process and headache on their own lol
@@FatBellyFishing tell me about it .....one day I was removing a hook and one bit me ......I knew how those poor oysters felt.
Make sure you kill the fish or it is dead before beginning, dont reply, i saw the gills flap and the fish jumped,,,at least be humane
I thought reds were still off limits....
In Tampabay yes, this is in a different county up by crystal river/homosassa
Not trying to call you out, I love you guys lol just wasn’t sure if I missed something haha
Joshua Pondwalker no problem buddy, I know everyone of the Tampa bay guys I see keep something I start thinking the same thing. I fish homosassa once or twice every month with capt aug
You doing a video on the trip you caught them on??😍
Joshua Pondwalker I’m gonna have that one Sunday and it will be scalloping and redfish
My grandfather does it better with a higher IQ and he didn't even finish high-school
Some of the most wealthy and intelligent individuals dropped out of high school. I was the dumb one that went the whole way through
Did you seriously infer that if you had a better way to clean a fish you should keep it to yourself? Really? I’m out...see ya
😂😂😂 I guess you haven’t seen the trout post to understand why I said that jokingly
I'm first
You beat me
