    I have been happy with Nilight products. Put them on my truck and my Jeep. Most useful place has been in the rear bumper for backup. Stock backup lights are next to useless, and adding a 4" Nilight is great.

Would love to meet you and your wife before either of us hit the road. We recently sold our boat on the island and are new to the dusty back roads..Happy New Year

    Very Nicely done! I’m doing the same soon for the truck & rear bumper on the trailer. Not necessarily to back up but to see out the back at night if needed. I wondered if it made a real difference up front as my LED lamps are really bright but don’t reach out very much. Looks like these will though. TNX for the review.

    Good video. I got one for Christmas for my 1500 ram and I'm gonna put it on this weekend. Hoping to fit it down btw the tow hooks bc its only the 20in bar. I don't think I have the tranny cooler down there as there's a plastic solid cover in the spot now.

    Ray, I have a 2013 Ram dually that I installed a curved Nilight light bar on. Installed it in the lower opening in front of the intercooler. No heating problems pulling 16,000# 5th wheel. I had read about some water leakage so before I installed it I took the plastic lens off and put a thin coating of silicone on the contact surface and in all the screw holes. No leaks even after pressure washing. I hooked up the trigger wire to the high beams so the light will come on only when the high beams are on. That way if a car approaches all I do is switch to low beams and the light bar is off. Car passes and the light bar comes on when I go to the high beams. Also, I would aim your light bar a little higher. Great video.

      Cool, thanks for the tip! Do you have a cover for it. I've ordered a cheap canvas one for the time being. In BC and some US states it looks like I could get a ticket if on highway without a cover. As they class the light bars as off road lamps. Cheers, Ray

    The law can vary from state to province, but my understanding in Alberta, at least, is that those auxiliary lights have to be covered up if you are on public streets or highways. But I sure could be wrong too.

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV 7 месяцев назад

      Could be but not sure in BC but probably a good idea to use a cover since I go through so many US states while traveling since each have there own laws.

    I'm curious how yours will hold up to the weather. That looks like the one that came with a vehicle I purchased and I noticed some moisture behind it once I got it installed back on the truck. I have no idea how old mine is and this truck has had a hard life to say the least so it easily could of cracked somewhere from the previous owner bushwhacking/ jumping this thing and completely be user error.
    I never got to test mine out much yet being on PEI but it seems to light up fine so far. Hopefully a little time and some silicon will keep the moisture out when I get a chance to work on that. haha

    is it safe to directly connect the positive (red) on the battery terminal? should I be concerned with drainage and fire?

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV 5 месяцев назад +1

      There is a fuse included in the wiring that will blow if there is a short circuit beyond its location in the wiring. Still, as an extra safety measure, you could use a battery terminal fuse like I have or wire the light bar into a spare location in the vehicle fuse box. The battery will be drained if you leave the light on with the vehicle off, but you could wire it in such a way as to have it only on if the vehicle's bright lights are on or the ignition is on. Up to you. I don't see myself forgetting to turn it off, so I didn't bother.
