  • Real road test, drive and review of the Ferrari 360 Modena with manual 6-speed gearbox.
    Sometimes overshadowed by the earlier F355, in 2000 the 360 Modena and 360 Spider were great performance classic sports cars with a lot of advantages over the earlier models. Prices are on th rise but we think they have not peaked, so maybe you should consider one as an investment that's much more fun than Apple shares. Will it be reliable? How does it drive? What goes wrong? Watch this review to find out.

    I go through phases with this car, sometimes I feel like I really love it, love the looks, love everything about it and other times I don't. No doubt it's a fantastic car I just can't seem to get past that in my mind.

    Cam Belt changes in a 308/328 DO NOT require the engine out boys! A good review apart from that error!

    You briefly mentioned the similarities of the 360 to the Cayman for 1/5 the price. Could you elaborate more on that, perhaps in another video if it would be to much writing? Thanks for another great video!

      I like that idea. I should take the 987 Cayman for a bit of a blast while the Ferrari is fresh in my mind. The 360 has far more grunt and presence, but in terms of driver involvement, they are both very satisfying. (Stu)

      That’s nice to hear about the similarities of the 360M to the 987C. I’ll be taking my 987C on a 3 hour drive this afternoon 👍🏻😎

    Thanks for another great video. I had to go back to check to see how you scored the 458. You rated the Speciale at 19.5, so just below the 360 with 20. Did you ever try the 348? I have added to my garage over the last few months and so now have the 458, 348 and 550 (in order of acquisition). I would find it quite hard to rank them, but despite being the cheapest to buy, there are days when the 348 comes out on top.

    • @inCARnationAustralia
      @inCARnationAustralia  3 года назад

      As much as we try to be empirical with our scoring, you're right - it's hard to see how the 458 Speciale could be outscored by the 360. Especially as in performance, presentation and personality the 458 topped the charts, outscoring the 360 in each. As a drivers car, the 458 was phenomenal. What clipped its wings was it's astronomic value and practicality - it's hard to imagine using the 458 Speciale as a daily driver, whereas the 360 with it higher ground clearance and even room for a set of golf clubs (so they claim) possibly could be. I'd be petrified parking the Speciale at Coles.
      I (Stu) have never been in a 348, but would love to. Mark probably has.
      Thanks Gavin once again for your considered feedback. Maybe it's not possible to rank them at all. How does one compare a Ferrari to a family 4WD. Not possible really is it. Like comparing a fish to a toaster.

      @@inCARnationAustralia I thought I would update you having recently traded my 458 Italia for the Speciale. It is still early days, but the term "drivers car" is not misused. On collection and a longish run on the motorway - I was surprised by the road noise (tyres, not engine) - it was horrendous! All is forgiven though when you get to drive down the country lanes. The way it hugs the road, the turn in on corners, feeding back everything is a wonder. The level of control and composure inspires confidence and allows you to push the tyres to their limits. The engine note is gruff compared to the Italia, but I would say the suspension is not really firmer and handles the bumps much better. The gearbox is also smother, especially on downshifts - although not quite as smooth as my 991.2. I am finding the ground clearance very good - best of all my cars and no need yet to use the axle lift. But I certainly agree - even ignoring the price - you could not daily it!

    You need to try my remap, years and hundreds of revisions to perfect it, transforms the 360 into something on a whole different level again. Trust me you'll love it! Tonnes of testimonials.

    Unfortunately the prices being currently asked for 360’s is comical..$180 - 250k!..c’mon…
    UK imports should be around 15-20% cheaper than Aus delivered, according to my local Ferrari dealer..

    • @markwilliamson8662
      @markwilliamson8662 2 года назад

      Yes that percentage figure you’ve mentioned has pretty much been the norm. However talking to collectors now the prices have very much equalised for particular cars, manual 355 and 360 fall into this category. The same with manual NSX, you can see the pattern with gearbox’s.
