I'm definitely getting one when I go for my 23 Road Glide Ltd. 1K mile maintenance. This is a great video. I remember cracking the throttle open earlier today and holding on for dear life! The backrest really makes a difference. I had one on my Triumph Rocket III. It really made a difference. Thanks for this video.
I’ve installed one of these on every touring bike I’ve had. I just got one again for my new road glide limited. Going to install it after we get moved. On my 18 road glide ultra that I had, I mounted the switch on the heat deflector. That way you don’t have to reach up in behind it while riding. With the switch being on the heat deflector it was much easier and safer to switch on the fly while riding. It looked clean! Nice finished look to it.
GREAT VIDEO CF!!!! I've got one of these. My wife has one on her 18 RG 107. She loves it! This IS an awesome, comfortable backrest. The backrest pad is sold separately from the adjustable air/gas shock. The backrest DOES go in/out VERY easily. NOTE: I have a two-part seat on my 16 RG CVO Ultra. This adjustable seat does not work with the two-part seat. The parts guys at my HD dealer said Harley does not make a backrest for a two-part seat setup. AGAIN, AWESOME VIDEO!!!!
I ride my 17 road glide special on some killa grinding long rides! from Mobile AL to Montana (5,300ml trip) and stuff my satchel bag with clothes, stand it upright on my rr seat and its like sitting in a recliner baby! :)
I've been thinking about getting a backrest, but don't care for the way they look. I'm hoping the rear REVO As will would take the need away. So, even w/ the REVO As, you still prefer the back rest too then? Love your content brother! Liked/subbed.
Okay, I gave the video a like but recently installed this on my '20 Road Glide Special. Poor design for riders over 6'. I installed it exactly as you have here and then when I went and sit on it, I found myself sitting too far forward with my junk on the horn of the saddle even with the adjustment all the way back. I had to replace the three fasteners with longer 7/16th fasteners to angel the assembly.
Love the idea, but that chintzy wobbling when off the bike would make me crazy. Loose and rattle doesnt belong on a Harley, that's for the plastic bikes.
I get it but I hate the look. On long hauls put luggage on the passenger seat and lean against that. Save your money and buy some Legend Suspension for the front end. (Or give Mary a call) 🤣

Installing one at this moment. All Harley parts are well made. You get what you pay for. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanks for Review! 😎⚡️🤙
Hey John are you changing out shifter linkage
What is that cable for?
Gotta question about your exhaust. Where are the cats located? If there Are any ... don’t remember hearing you mention
Is it a bolt to hold the backrest from being coming up?
That looks comfortable!! Too bad they don’t make one for the Tuono...LOL
Whats with all the sirens in the background
John got a haircut!
I'm more interested in who put in your driveway, what do I tell a contractor to get one like yours?

How comfortable is that stock seat? I was thinking about switching my stock Road King seat for a Road Glide or Street Glide seat.
I like that. The one I have sucks so I never use it
Great job
Looks good. How easy is it to take it off?
Nice nice I need this!
Great Video, it real -
I have one love it 💯
What’s the brand of back rest?
