your support bar you showed in the beginning was under your bracket the HD one you installed the support bar is over top of the bracket so you're not comparing the same thing. I would always buy OEM parts because of fitment
I still have the backrest from my 2012 Road Glide but can’t use it on my 2018 Sport Glide , it has a sundowner seat and there is no way to fit it on. 😢
a tip for saving some headaches ~~ a little painters/masking tape on the back side of a box wrench can help keep you from losing a nut in a "hidden" spot..
You have gone back to your Klockwerks shield from the Freedom shield.... what's the reason 🤔 possibly recorded earlier, as I notice in your Freedom vid you have a backrest .... Thankyou for the great videos 👍
This is Margaret, Scotts' wife. He did not switch back to the Klockwerks. He is still using the Freedon Sheild and enjoying it! This video was recorded before the Freedom Sheild but put on RUclips after. :) Sorry for the confusion.
I've been absent for over a week. Just returned from a 2900 mile road trip to San Diego, CA. I rode with the Freedom Shield and to be honest it was the best windshield I've ever used.
I bought the HD. Backrest and took it off it absolutely pushed me to far forward no matter where it was mounted , I know you can bend the two bars on the actual backrest but why should you have to for that much money !
NO!!! Do NOT take those plastic washers off! The bolts are held in place by the plastic washers, and will fall all the way out if you remove the plastic washers. It's in the instructions.

My seat didn't come with instructions for the bracket install. This video was perfect. Thanks!
Your videos are always informative and helpful to many riders.... Thanks for taking the time to post them
Glad you like them!

Great video I will be installing my wife’s backrest today!👍🏾👍🏾
So far, I've dropped the straight part into the battery well. Wish me luck.
If you pop the ecm out it's easier to get off, just did it on my 2022 street glide special

Thanks for the detailed informative video, you have earned my subscription today.
Is that an HD adjustable mounting kit. HD wants $235.00 just for the adjustable mounting kit for my 2021 Road King.
Watched the video and and it is an HD bracket.
Well done. Thanks!

Yup I could see that if you were tall it could be a problem. Thanks for sharing
I am pretty sure Harley back rest are not leather.
They have 2 options, the leather is more expensive.
Great video !! So you had to move the bracket back one notch?
Correct
