This backrest has been very comfortable for me on the TG. However, because it does not fold down it is a PITA for Mary when getting on and off the Trike. We have the same backrest on the Softail, and it is no issue for her on that bike. But for the TG we are probably going to change it out. ***WE Decided to NOT change it out. It is easy to pull out if it is in her way, then put it back in.***
Just got this backrest for the wife's 2021 tri-glide! Thanks for putting me on to this backrest! It also feels better on the back than my $250 mustang backrest on my ultra limited!!
Kevin I have the Ultimate seat on our trike and the backrest is user adjustable with a hex head screw that will not back out and can be adjusted while you are riding if you need to , since I have had a major back surgery it really helps to extend the ride thanks for showing another option , ride safe summer has brought the crazy people out
I have a nice backrest for my 2020 Heritage. It slips on right over the two seat post that come out the fender and the seat nuts go on over it. Can still be used with a Pillion or a cargo rack that clips into the Nut groves like from mother well. Im very surprised that no one else offers something like this, its very simple, easy to put on with no tools, very secure, and takes longer to try and steal. Its also adjustable for height with a set screw. After that, the slip and go nature of this back rest is worry some. Id lock it up every where I went to.
I've tried several Mustang backrests over the years...they don't fit my back. HOWEVER, I know a LOT of folks that love them and find Mustang seats and backrests very comfortable!
Thank you. They are the factory bars with 9" extensions welded in. Here is a video where we talk more about them- ruclips.net/video/5h77GQJTW1w/видео.html Talk about the bars starts around the 5:05 mark.
Are you enjoying your Grasshopper backrest yet? On the handlebars, they are stock with 9 inches added. I talk more about them at the 5:05 mark in this video- ruclips.net/video/5h77GQJTW1w/видео.html

It feels great for me. I've always run my backrests so that the bottom of the rest was at the top of the seat. So this has worked out well for me. However, if I did need it higher, it would be easy to put a set screw into the bracket underneath the seat so that when the backrest slid in it would bottom out on that, instead of going all the way down. Mary was concerned that it did not flip forward, like other ones. But it has not been an issue. However, that is a potential drawback of this backrest for some that would prefer that.

Good to hear you have a backrest that you are comfortable with!
Question for you what are the weights limits for the back seat and front? Greatly appreciate it
I have never seen any weight limits for rider and passenger seats. Only total weight limits for rider, passenger, & cargo combined. 👍
