My plan is to dungeon cleave as a prot paladin with a premade guild group and hit 70 in record time. Then I'll raise my druid to 70 probably healing so I can get swift flight form asap and zoom around mining and herbing with him. I also have hoarded mats to get all my crafters up to 330-340 in their professions making classic recipes.
Thoughts on professions if you plan on entering arena when it launches? JC trinket is almost a requirement right? Wouldn't it make sense to just go mining/JC in that case? Sure you won't make as much raw gold, but you can use the mining to leveling the JC and hopefully enough gold to make the trinket?
I was going to swap to JC and Engineering / blacksmithing once I had the money to do so. I was going to save up a bunch of mats on a bank character to level jewelcrafting and wait to level it until I hit 70 that way I can make more money farming herbs until I reach 70.

If you're going to raid, maybe do jewelcrafting first in case you get a weapon drop and don't have to bother with blacksmithing. If you're not going to raid I would go blacksmithing
I can definitely see the first couple weeks going like that, but you know that means higher demand (and Prices) for those items. Also it should be... let's call it interesting, on PvP Servers. :P

Yeah this is definitely my plan cause I didnt make bank when naxx first came out and herbs were super expensive. Just been coasting on like 1.5k I had before and I cant be asked to do 40g/hr farms in classic to compete with the 30k+ people

You're going to have to hit 70 really quickly if you want to make good money with jewelcrafting in my opinion. Mining herb is what I'm going to do. Skinning could be good too, but I'm concerned that less people are going to be going leatherworking early because of how they are changing drums.
@@Zatar in BC I leveled a belf rogue, mining and jewelcrafting in what would be considered phase 3, and easily got epic flying. The trick is to craft low level blue twink rings, trying to get of the eagles and such. Also stealthing through caves to hit nodes un contested is pretty damn fun I also recommend fishing. You can fish motes of fire from lava pools.
I'm going herbalism with mining, it's just up to you whether or not it's going to be annoying to switch between the tracking. I think herbalism will be more money but who knows for certain.
@@Zatar ya my hunch was also that herb will be worth more gold. Herbs will probably have more value as they are harder to gather than leathers. I think being a rogue leveling up with a pvp spec will really pay off for getting herbs.

Summoning ground mounts takes time . Flying allows you to reach nodes on clifts and high grounds also dodging mobs. Overall flying at 60 % is faster than ground mount 100%
This is my plan as well. Double gathering and just sell everything while I level. Will be interesting to see the prices. I'm also heading in light, so to speak, with less than 2k saved.

You can never know for sure, but I am not concerned about Bots in Outland early on. Especially in the higher zones. I think more than ever there's going to be a lot of people speeding past the herbs in the mines to try and level faster, not to mention that a lot of people won't even have Gathering professions. But it certainly is a possibility there's just not many nodes to hit, but hopefully in that event when you do find a node, the materials are very expensive due to scarcity.
Herb+engi until you have rep grinded out, then drop herbing > craft LW set, drop LW > get JC craft the figurines > drop JC > get BS for the mace. Then you become literal PvP arena God, idk how much this will cost, like a million gold? Idk

Herb/mining is probibly the worst combo to go for as a druid, druid flight form can pick herbs but cant mine mines, it's better to run herb/skinning, and then drop one of the two for skinning/LW or herb/alc once it's maxed and money for raw mats start falling off.

You have the potential to make more gold, but it's more effort in my opinion. So many people have this mindset so I feel like the prices aren't going to be as good as you expect them to be. More than that, there will be so much undercutting going on. I'd argue that gathering is better when everyone is 70 and there's just fewer people spending their time in the open world in general. For my characters, I'll be sticking with gathering/crafting initially so I can still make passive income while I level but still able to improve my character in the process.
In my opinion gathering on a PvP server will be very difficult. People will be fighting over every node spawn and ganking for them. Unless you can log in and play @ odd hours. PvE you will just have a flood of people gathering, So this will also make it difficult. You have to remember how small the zones are compared to classic world and how more people will be playing. I do think Gathering will be worth it but I don’t think it will realistic or worth the time for most people until about a month after launch.

I think BLIZZARD is behind all these gold sellers . I just logged in the first time on release day of TBC and had two gold sellers in my mail box. Think about it, they can create the gold with a push of a button and they have millions of gold to sell

I spent all of today testing leveling builds kill speed and a build that ambushes and weapons swaps to use hemo is looking very good. You can kill at the pace of combat swords, while having access to a full PVP spec and preparation for World PVP and escaping trouble.
You had enough time to make gold. I boosted for the last 6m and make like 50-60k. so iam ready to buy all i need and will use that money to invest. But 30-40k is not "rich". I guess iam pretty poor with my 55k. I know of 2 people in my guild alone, who have more than 200k gold.
This may be the worst guide I've ever seen for early TBC gold. Even on a dead server, these nodes are gonna have insanely brutal 24/7/365 farmed zones for at least the first couple of months.
but also dont forget there will be many bots doing the same so profession might be even over used. also all the botters always having the lowest price on AH...but bot lowering prices could actually be good for the normal player...idk...also not to mention content creator making videos about the meta on TBC on daily basis.... in this TBC people will be good...it will be not like back then. now you can to play them with your mechanical skills..or knowledge..a.bout the classes, hybrid specs, counters to certain builds etc...

Keep the materials for your ideal crafted profession on a bank alt... then you can pre prep for 1-300 without straining

Most patterns are rep based anyways, so it will take time to unlock them. Might as well farm your mats you will need or sell what you farm

Try out gathermate, it won't put yellow dots on the map for both, but it will tell you where spawn locations are

Flying is slower than running, it's only 60% speed while ground mounts are 100

Depends what server you're on. Competing with thousands of other players, as well as bots, makes open world gathering almost worthless.

Very underrated I'm leveling a second one with the particular sub spec and it's loads of fun. Very different from cb swords.
