Joe Satriani is the man. I've been listening to him for 40 years.
No one comes close to his creativity and style
You really need to listen to the studio version.

Hello there MY BESTIE! I'm sooo happy the discovery Joe Satriani! First off he's absolutely amazing! I had a former fiancee who used to play his music. Here's the thing, he was actually born deaf in one ear. Then his father offered him the cochlear implant to rectify his hearing. He decided against doing that because he realized he was going to have to re-record every single thing he had ever written. Another thing is that decades ago when I used to work in a dollar store...I've met Joe Satrianis Mom! She is one of the most wonderful and humble people ever! She wasn't one who came off like oh yeah MY son is a guitar god and you all know it. Honesty he really is! She just came off like yeah, That's My boy and he's pretty good at playing guitar... Yeah pretty good is how she described him! 😂 Talk about a sweet and humble supportive mother right? She was just like his fame didn't affect her and very down to earth. When I'd told her that my former fiancee was playing his music she was like oh well just tell him I said thank you so much.... MY Joey will appreciate to hear that. XOXO 😉💜😎 #NYGenXBIKERLady

MY BESTIE... check out this guitar history fact about the amazing STEVE VAI!
At the age of fourteen, Steve Vai showed up to Joe Satriani’s home in Westbury, Long Island, guitar in hand, with no strings attached. Vai asking Satriani to teach him how to play. This moment began a life-long friendship, and partnership between the two guitarists. Vai said, "I took lessons with him for three years and he was very good because he didn't tell me that I had to play like him or that I had to do things this way or that way. He explained why it was important for me to figure out things on my own.”

I got to see him live on 4/20 this year. You MUST go see him and Steve Vai, now while there is still time. They are getting old and soon will not be playing as well as they did 10 yrs ago. I could already tell with Steve Vai that he had aged in his hands since 2018 when I saw him with the Generation Axe Tour.

As always, another great video Harri. Loved the guitar in this and the drummer definitely knows what he’s doing. Brilliant tune. Blessings to you once again from Weymouth. Take care.

Love me some Joe Satriani 😎👍
Surfing with the Alien was may first intro to his music. His Flying in a Blue Dream album has a few tracks on it where he has vocals. Might i suggest The Phone Call 😁👍

I just heard about Joe for the first ti.e a few months ago from another great but lesser-known guitarist caled Victor The Guitar Nerd. This is a great video and I would love to se him in concert. Wonder if he is self- taught?? Good point about the drummer supporting Joe. Thank you Harri !

I have tickets to see him and his ex student Steve Vai together in Durham, NC next Saturday. Joe played a short time with Deep Purple after one of Ritchie Blackmore's departures. I also loved his work with Sammy Hargar in the Chickenfoot group. I can't wait for next Saturday.

Jeff Campitelli on drums and Dave LaRue on bass, I don’t know the other guitarist. Check out Echo from the Time Machine live album, it’s audio from a 1988 San Diego show. The last four tracks are one continuous recording from the show, with Stu Hamm on bass and Jonathan Mover on drums. Absolutely incredible, Circles, drum solo, Lords of Karma, and Echo. I also like Rubina from that album.

I’ve been a Satch fan since ‘88 and I always wondered what Joe’s music would sound like with good vocals, then Chickenfoot happened.

I can't remember if you had a showcased Steve Vai on here but if you haven't please do! I guarantee you that he will blow your mind AND bless your ears. I CAN tell you for a fact that you do not get arthritis later on because you keep playing throughout your life. My one brother plays guitar since he's very young. My other brother plays piano since he's very young. My one brother plays a few times almost weekly. That's because he has a baby grand piano in his living room. My other brother doesn't get to play as much. But let me tell you something about him if anybody calls him to meet up and play out? He absolutely WILL get in his car or get on a train and travel HOURS! He will go to NYC or to Connecticut or Jersey JUST to jam out for a couple of hours in a bar with friends. XOXO 😉💜😎 #NYGenXBIKERLady

the album 'surfing with the alien' is my favorite straight guitar record of all time. bought the vinyl in '87 and still play it a lot. 'always with me always with you ' and 'crushing day ' are two of my favorite satch tracks. the master makes that ibanez sing. if you want to hear the best guitar duo in the last 30 years japanese female band LOVEBITES will blow your doors off. 2 guitarists that shred close to the skills of satch. beauty , talent and songwriting unmatched by any female band to ever exist. here is the live version of 'set the world on fire' in which they do just that : ruclips.net/video/99zsH6iG_6c/видео.html

My experience with my arthritis is it hurts, but when I work or play guitar, it doesn't affect me much. I believe as much as Joe plays he has minimum pain or old age problems. The old saying applies, "use it or lose it".

There's a 14 yr old guitar phenom named Taj Farrant. I have to admit the first time I heard this song was when Taj was 10 and someone was doing a reaction to him playing this song. Taj Farrant is now 14 and has released his new song House Always Wins this week. He song again went to #1 on the iTunes blues charts. He has also released his original songs Crossroads, Cruz and Bad Trip that all also hit #1.
    House Always Wins

He has moved to the US with his parents and sister, who plays the drums. Taj has played with some great artists like Santana, Orianthi, Rob Thomas, Christone Kingfish Ingram, Eric Gales and Morris Hayes (who was Prince's music director and keyboard player for 20+ years). There's videos with him and all of these greats. He's going to be a featured artist at the Byron Bay Blues fest and is playing at several Blues festivals around the US and will be performing on the Joe Bonamassa's blues cruise. My favorite performance of Taj and the one he says he likes to play the most is his tribute to Gary Moore when he plays Gary's Parisienne Walkways. It's an incredible performance!!!
