Joe's guitar does all the singing!
I have been a massive Fan of Joe for over 30 years, I first heard flying in a blue dream” in 1989. It was recommended to me as I am fan of Mike Oldfield and have enjoyed instrumental music. I was hooked straight away. I had the pleasure of meeting him on the Satchafunkilus tour in Bournemouth. You’ll never see a live version of the song Souls of Distortion, but a great song you should have a listen to. Finally his last Album Elephants of Mars is one of very best. The whole thing a creative bulldozer of unstoppable sonic magnificence. I admit my opinion may be biased! 😄
I thought Steve Ray Vaughan might surprise me by playing the guitar with his hands behind his back, but no, I was wrong, Joe surprised me more by playing with his mouth. Fantastic.
Bruh, you had no idea, lol.... but that's ok...
The standard song ended around the 4.90 mark of the original video which corresponds to 6:15 of this video (The wailing cry that follows after 6:15 marks the start of the super improvisation of solos). The remainder was ultra-improv from a demi god of strings.
BTW, if the pattern at 9:17-9:24 does not hit the "resonance frequency" of your body/soul, no words (even Joe himself felt it, just look at him attempting but in vain to maintain a straight poise while waving to opposite direction when comparing his midsection to his head, amazing stuff to see, really)
Easily this man makes the List of current "guitar Gods"...Truly a treat to hear this man play!Happy Holiday brother Harri...
CHECK OUT "IF I COULD FLY" BY JOE SATRIANI (STUDIO VERSION)
Hendrix couldn't play with Satriani.
A guitar master indeed. Another good one by him is "Always With Me, Always With You".
He also does a really good cover of "Sleepwalk". Another good guitar instrumental you
might want to try is Eric Johnson - "Cliffs of Dover".
Nope it was David DiDonato 24 hours and 55 mins it’s in the Guinness World Records Book I bet his hand was hurting horribly
Ambient music with rock blues guitar sound.
Blues. Blues Rock. Mix blues with any ingredient and it always tastes good to me.
If you like Satriani, you'd like his song Surfing With The Alien.
I have always liked Satch but I enjoy his music more than seeing him on stage. You need to jump into the land of Buckethead and do some reactions. With over five hundred albums there is something for everyone.
You might like Maggot Brain by Funkadelic Harri check it out you won't be sorry!
Finally i found Joe. Excellent choice Michael. HarriBest is worth listening.
Enjoying this right along with you ... new subscriber, thanks for the cool content
Dude, I love that you are lovin joe satriani.... man, at that time, i was getting sick of looking for cd's of pure music no lyrics, found Joe..... rubina's blue sky happiness off te extremist album.... dude............ love it.
I always have mixed feelings when I hear Joe. Sometimes it's too much for me but other times it's pure magic. The thing that's crazy to me though is that I can't imagine the feeling of having mastered something so well, there's literally nothing I couldn't do with it. The guitar has become a toy for him, an extension of himself. There's literally nothing he can't do with it. That has to feel awesome.
Also Harri check out Eric Johnson…..also Epic
Satriani solos during few hours every day. For the last ~45 years.
satriani the beast, top 5 ever easy
It's not a continuous solo, the guitar is carrying the melody.
GROOVY
Its always the silent ones that are the most dangerous
satch is the gold standard of guitarists that others aspire to be close to. the sensei supreme
Professor Satchafunkilus
Another excellent one Michael. You post such great songs. Nice reaction too Harri.
Big Joe...great choice Harri! 🍻
He's playing and singswith guitar
You should take a listen to Steve Vai, i think you might enjoy it.
Joe can’t sing worth a shit, so I’m glad he didn’t sing more. I always wanted to hear his guitar with some good vocals, and my dream came true when the supergroup Chickenfoot was created. Joe on guitar, Michael Anthony on bass, Chad Smith on drums, and Sammy Hagar’s vocals. You should check them out.
Future in the past.
He sings when he has to and makes it work for the song
I like his vocal rendition on the track "Ride". He sang so good for the song and the nature being carefree helped...
I can only think of three where he sings, Ride, Big Bad Moon, and The Phone Call.
this spot its a side A total, please make satriani real? surfing whit the alien live in sao paulo kkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Grand talent
The Hendrix influence is most prominent on his self-titled album "Joe Satriani" from 1995. I don´t know if anything is played with his teeth there, too, but it´s a very good record.
Hendrix wouldn't know how...no he couldn't play with Satriani. If Hendrix was here today starting out, no one would know who he is. Because without the 60s there is no Hendrix.
@@Manbunmen65 This was not my point.
A real guitar hero. Awesome! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶
I thought the Longest Solo Was Free Bird ?
Good stuff!
thanks for this reaction!
Very Great Playing !
I saw him play in London at the Palladium Theatre on 16th May 23 [might have been 17th] - he played overall for over two hours and it was of equal quality to this excellent recording, although I do think the band here > than recently
best in the world
This one is killer! You should try Joe Satriani - God Is Crying Live in Montreal you will love it
Drummer Jeff Campatelli is so damn good
Besides my uncle when I was a kid learning to play nobody has influenced me more on the drum then Jeff. Always in the pocket , follows the groove , has that swing to his style. Wish him & Joe would play more together so I could see them both.
The first time I heard Joe was during a YT driving video. Took 45 seconds to make me a fan. I have the DVD of Satchurated Live in Montreal. Every guitar he plays must be equipped with an internal cooling fan to keep it from bursting into flames lol. It is interesting to hear his contribution to the band Chickenfoot when he was part of that group.
I opened a CD store in 1988. That year there were 3 artists who took popular music in what I feel was a new direction. Joe Satriani - Surfing With The Alien, Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction, and Living Colour - Vivid. I’d also give an honorable mention to Melissa Etheridge - Melissa Etheridge. Each of these 4 albums took music in a great direction and each has withstood the test of time.
Merry Christmas, Harri.
I’ve been listening to Joe since the 80s. My two favorite tracks are both from the Time Machine live album, Rubina and Echo. The last four tracks on the album are all a continuous recording from a show, Circles, drum solo, Lords of Karma, then ending with Echo. Simply amazing…
Joe can really rock his guitar to an amazing level. Outstanding. I agree Harri,
He makes the guitar the star, then you remember oh yes, there is more than one instrument being played here. Wow.
Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Michael. 🎄 ☃️🎄❄️🎄🎅 School was cancelled in Alberta today, the wind chill was -47C, we're all suffering.🥶🥶🥶 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Hey Mary, are you visiting the kids for Christmas? I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.
@@Cynthia... Hi Cynthia. Going out after Christmas. Have a Birthday for one of our grandchildren early January. Hope you have great plans for the holidays.
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas
Cynthia.🎅🎁☃️🎄🤗❤️🇨🇦
@@marybaillie8907 Thanks Mary, when you mentioned Alberta being cold, I figured maybe you were there. Have a wonderful time.🎄🎅
@@Cynthia... Our younger daughter flew out yesterday luckily. There were so many cancelled flights today due to the cold and snow in Vancouver. Anyways. You have a wonderful holiday. ❤️
@@marybaillie8907 Hi Mary, it's a balmy -8c here in Vancouver. Been below
freezing for a couple weeks, have had several snowfalls that have not
melted, just piled up on top of each other, have well over a foot now.
Had to run some errands yesterday, almost no traffic, a lot of people
just stayed home, stores were all short handed. Of the other cars I saw,
half were slipping and sliding all over the place. Tow trucks were busy
pulling people out of ditches. Vancouverites just don't know how to drive
in snow. Most, like me, don't even have snow tires, but I learned how to
drive in Montreal. Didn't have any trouble at all, even though I only have
all seasons on the car. Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas!
Don’t need any vocals with this jam at all already perfection
Joe satriani said that Jimmy Hendrix was the person who inspired him to learn and play guitar
been playing since he was a kid, was teaching in his young teen years.
He is the master on electric guitar hi accuracy is insane never misses a beat
His finger speed is insane I bet his wife is happy 😂😂😂😂😂
Sad comment
Fuck man ! Wow ! Is the master joe satriani
