_"New cars are boring"_ - only people with real passion for cars can make that statement. Those buying the new ones will never understand what it means though. And that's exactly what makes this car truly one of a kind.
My neighbor was sending his 96' 740IL to the crusher, but I saved it, gave him $500, gave it some love, and now it look really nice , and now he hates me.... oh well, I lost a friend but gotta hot car!
Yes, correct - I was so close in getting one - twice in the exact colors (inter/ext) and condition ---- Waaahhhh, it haunts me till this day 4 years later.
I agree with how this guy feels, I've had my E39 M Sport for 17 years now and love it. Only do about 1,000 miles a year (9500 miles in last 10 years) Beautiful car👍👍👍
You're a legend, man this is what I call a real dream. Now days kids think yeh I'm gonna get a tesla or crap.like that but I think this car is 1000 times better then today's crap thus stands out it can take a breath away as you see it. The man has put his life to this car and to make it perfect he boght 44 e38's which I call is ambition for something you really love and want. I hope you enjoy and keep it safe, and I'm glad that this video came up as recommended on my front page other wise I wouldn't known that there are people with dreams like these. I also love old classic cars from 70s to 80s to 90s. They were built to last and even with their isses they were not bad as today's cars, today cars are peace of garbage. I would chose this car over any modren car in seconds.
You’ve created a unicorn! Very nice! I had an ‘01 e38 msport for almost 10 years. Loved it! 💯. I sold it instead of doing the timing chain guides. I didn’t have another car to use, I don’t have the time or technical ability to do the job myself, and I couldn’t afford to pay someone else to do the job or do an engine swap. I regret not choosing to do any of those choices now. I’m currently restoring/updating an low-ish mileage ‘03 540 msport II. It’s not the same enjoyment. I regret not keeping my 740i almost every day.
Absolutely stunning car. The E38 Sport model is one of the greatest BMWs ever made and I dont think there has been a nicer looking BMW built since. I had an E38 740i Sport for only a few months and only sold it because of its love of petrol.....Id love another one day but sadly its a case of finding a nice one.
I own a E32 735iL Executive from "86, bought it 15 years ago from a retired business man who was the 1st owner from new, i am the 2nd owner . It has the optional 10.000 guilder hydraulic/electric automatic leveling suspension wich you can also raise/lower manually. it has 340.000km on it but you wont notice, that is how good and well made it is. I love it, everything is original and beautiful, it is not ruined by oversized wheels and that sort of things. Most of the work i do myself, like general maintenance. For daily drive i have a E34 525iA. I am an oldskooler so i specifically like the 70s 80s early/mid 90s bmw's. You sir have a beautiful E38
What a nice guy. Genuine passion for his car. And what a stunning example. I too have an E38 that I bought as it was my dream car. Have slowly been upgrading it but only with OEM upgrades. I love it.
Wow mate - that's a really, really lovely example... I admire your enthusiasm to full fill your dream, and I must say i'm slightly envious but without jealousy, you've done a great job, so well done. I'm a Brit who lives in Thailand, there's a lot of good condition E38's out here, I have one, again like you I'd always wanted one as a kid but here they are not looked after so much... i'm in a Thai E38 FB Club etc... and currently doing mine bit by bit, it's been off the road now for over a year and i'm soooo looking forward to having it back in all its glory. I wish I lived in the UK again as the cost of parts here is killing me, I could have bought a couple of new Toyota's for the amount I've spent on this thing hahaha and its still not on the road - the wife doesn't understand me, but then again her English is not great hahaha, great video mate keep it up, Martin
Hi mate. I live in the UK as well and I own a few BMWs myself. My daily driver and my favourite car is my 740i short wheel base manufactured in October 2000. My car is pretty rare as it has the ACC (active cruise control) option, I have been told that there were only 11 of these produced with RHD. I have a video (1st video on my channel) with the system working. The previous 2 owners could not fixed, but I was adamant I wasn't going to give up until 1 day on the day of my MOT I managed to re-calibrate it with ISTA+ and now working as it should. I love your car as it is Black with black interior. Mine is Titan silver with very dark green interior, still nice but not as nice as black.
Awesome car. 4 years freshening up an E39 here. Came to me on it's original everything. You've inspired me to go and fix the centre dash vent that a car wash damaged,
My father had E24 the 635CSi somehow just because of some electrical issues he sold beauty.....Me in 2015 i was about to purchase 1998 750iL but for some reason i left that....after one year and more in 2016 and 2017 i saw the same car the person who bought that car it almost made me cry and its second time now i am watching this it almost made me cry again the best sedan i've ever seen 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow she’s beautiful love it I just bought one 740 IL love this car I hope when I’m done with mine it will look as beautiful as yours keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your story amazing
My name says it all. Nice one Ed. E38's arguably the pinnacle of BMW build quality. Superb vehicle. I fully facelifted a silver 1995 750iL and fitted Alpina 20's and genuine Alpina front spoiler. Buffalo comfort leather. Anyone seen or have the contour seat option? Compass is cool, never seen that! I'm sorry and sad to say I sold my car for a BMW Individual 745i. Big mistake.
How? Please explain. I passed up 98 740i and have regretted everyday. My 88 635csi is really nice(needs work) but I need E38 imola red alpina wheels in my life.
C Bell they are very rare in germany with a mt Right now there is one with 350 and one with 380 thousand kilometers and i did visit them, pure trash.. unbelievable
krezo I am sorry to hear that they are scarce in Germany. But the manual transmission is not stock, therefore extremely rare. Try the other European countries and definitely consider an automatic. You will find the right one for you. My advice is to buy the nicest, low-mileage 2001 you can find. (I own two 2001s, a 740i Sport and a 740iL.). Be a little patient and wait for the right one, but search online regularly.
Very very nice car, when I was a kid this was the car I always wanted too... but PLEASE sort out the engine management light and brake light on the dash board 😉
Fantastic Bavarian machine. 🇩🇪 I would like to know what’s the type of that middle mirror in interior? 🧐 First time to see lightening letters in such bimmers!!
can someone explain to me the terms "face lift", "short and long wheel base"? they are used quiet often with e38 those Alpina rims with black body color make this car glorious like nothing else. so beautiful very good taste
The 7 Series E38 had a relatively long Production run from 1994 to 2001. To keep up with Market Demands they facelifted the Car by the End of 1998. They Car got new Headligts, new Rear Light, new Engine Options and a improved and modernized Interior. The Differences aren't really big, but they Car looks more modern after the Facelift. The E38 has a Stock Wheelbase of 2930mm, but BMW offered a Longer Version of it, with a Wheelbase of 3320mm, so you got about 14cm more space in the Rear Seats. It's like the Difference between Premium Economy and Business. Hope i got to Answer your Question, if not, ask my anything. :)
@@Maximilianboenicke perfect thank you and yes I have another question for you. If you know a good web site or even a used car expo in Europe to buy this car
*The video production is amazing! Love the new content, this channel will be bigger than Petrolicious and Jay Leno's Garage combined.*
Thank you so much for your support. This means a lot to me.😊🚘👍🏻

it's my 7th year owning a 7 Serie e38. Only e65 , am i interested to own, because of the controversi of that model :)

Agree!
This is what I want to see. A man so passionate about his vehicle and the story behind it. Well done 👌👌👌
As a fellow E38 owner, I look at that thing like my dream car. What an absolute machine.
Saw a white E38 today. Jawdropping. Easily the best looking 7er ever.
BMW e38 is so amazing I own 7 e38s in diffrent trims and options!
Elver Jimenez you are doing the right thing, i just lost mine 😭😭😭
Wow👍🏽
Oh man. I felt that. I understand fully how this man feels. I love this car too. Its a feeling that cant be replaced

I took it for a test drive from my uncle, and it was nice and smooth.
But there is one thing, is it normal for the gas pedal response to be slow?
Nice car, but it's a shame that 45 e38's died to provide parts for one vehicle.
CadyCTSlover Agreed :/
I have a 2001 740iL. I'd like to add the sport steering wheel. Is it a simple bolt on or is there wiring involved?
Fantastic Bavarian machine. 🇩🇪
I would like to know what’s the type of that middle mirror in interior? 🧐
First time to see lightening letters in such bimmers!!
Rear view mirror compass, American spec only
How did you retrofit M3 steering wheel to a 99 car? Didn't 99 have single stage airbag module (and the M3 wheel has dual stage air bag)?
I have one of these, knew it'd go classic. 735i, numberplate is BMW 735Y. M-Pars soon!
