I'm starting to think hodor was at the tower of joy with lianna stark, (helped lianna runaway with Reigar) and I think he was getting flashbacks in this part. He saw something in that tower that traumatized him, and lost his ability to talk from the shock. Basing it on Bran's flashback.
That's impossible, he was the one who took the targys to safety, only to get his memory wiped so when he went back he couldnt be able to say their location.
