I think this probably one of the most considerate and professional guides to something like this I have seen.
When looking in to putting Lineage on my Razer Phone 2 or Nintendo Switch, I cannot tell you how many times I heard please subscribe, seen affiliate links or ad links to everything they mentioned, or the person talking about it went completely off topic to talk about something else, which I don't really have an issue with, it's their platform, it's their video, power to them.
But I really appreciate with this guide, you're just to the point and elaborate, and have direct links. I admire that very much, and I hope this channel takes off soon.
Side note: The more I listen to this video, you kinda sound like a Canadian version of Stevie from Good Mythical Morning? Idk, maybe just me lol

As soon as the OS has been updated to a higher version, a factory reset only resets that new OS version to what it would have been on a brand new device. Arg, help. So went through the instructions. Having run bootrom-step.sh, the message at the end is "Reboot" as opposed to "Reboot to unlocked fastboot." That said, ran the fastboot-step.sh, and seemed to go fine. Booted into TWRP, adb pushed the three files, but when I tried installing 6300.zip, got an error message "failed to mount '/vendor' (No such device)" and it failed. Tried mounting it manually within TWRP under the mount button, but tapping vendor doesn't let me select it.

If the CLK pin still even exists, it's hidden elsewhere now. I've been trying to hunt down a layout map of the motherboard to see where the CLK pin might be moved to, if I'm going to have to unsolder any plate to get access to it, or if it's just on the backside of the board now. If you find out anything please let me know!

For the moment since I can't get root (not even temporarily using mtk-su), and I can't use the exploit from this video to get access to the boot loader to install a new OS, I've just been modifying the current OS as best I can.
I installed f-droid directly from the internet, and then from that app manager I installed aurora (an app which accesses the google app store without having to log into google). You can use aurora to get a new launcher (I just went with bliss because I am already familiar with it from using /e/ foundation - I'm sure there are better ones out there). With the new launcher, at least you won't be constantly bombarded by ads when you're just trying to open an app. Oh, and also install adaway from f-droid!!
I used adb shell, and then from the device I used the package manager function to disable amazon spyware. From the adb shell, type 'pm listpackages' to find out what packages are currently installed. You can also type 'logcat' to monitor all the operations happening on your tablet, and then from the tablet you can click on an app to see it load up and find out the name (some of them are not intuitively named, like com.amazon.tahoe is the 'free time' app). Then use 'pm disable-user ' for whatever package you want to remove (I took everything off except video, for example, because that's the only one I will actually want to use). The bloat-ware is still installed, so it still takes up space on the device, but at least it's disabled...
Hope this helps! And I hope that as a community we can eventually figure out how to crack this new beast!!
