ahhhhh.... I believe it was a 0.4 gpm bi-directional pump.....I wan't sure if the weight of the bed was going to drop it on its own so I went with the two way pump
I'd love to have this on my trailer. I'm about to haul some gravel and I beefed up the leaf springs and have air shocks so I think I'm good for a hauling a decent load.
Perfect! I want to make a dump mechanism on my Dakota. I put an Oztray aluminum tray on it a few years back and want a cheap dump upgrade. I think yours is as basic as it gets. I too don't need more than 2 tons of lift. I can't justify dropping 2 grand into a scissor lift that would have to be modified to fit my already modified box. Princess Auto is our friend!
yeah for sure, the only thing i would change really is i would make it lighter....i think i went a little overboard....my truck weights 4500 pounds empty with all the winches and hydraulics!! thats basically fully loaded when empty
it cost me about 800-1000 dollars, not including man hours of course. all the hydraulics are from 'princess auto' farm supply... and the steel is from springfield salvage, winnipeg canada
hey I really like the setup you have on your S-10 pickup very neat clean and simple setup I'm in the process of creating the same exact setup that you have on your S10 I'm doing this on my S-10 ZR2 which will be a perfect set up for my truck
ahh you know I don't really have a list as far as materials. it was kinda a 'free form build' hah... it's made mainly of 2x2 by 1/8 steel tube and 2x4 1/8 tube for the deck cross pieces..... not sure if that helps you or not.

Like what you did. Just wish I could see your lower pivot point.
Nice job, man! I want to do the same thing on my 89 Chevy 1500 flat bed!
right on, do it!! ...yeah once you have a flat bed a regular box just plain sucks!!
Yep, and since I already have a flatbed it will be easier to add a dump!
Very nice job!!
Hey where did you get that ram
great bed amazing job
no they work ok, they may blink just a hair slower than factory......you just have to find lights with similar resistance as factory
i used 1/8 inch wall tubing for the deck and 1/4 inch for the ram mounting / pivot areas

its an electric pump and a regular ram. princess auto

When you said you'd make it lighter did you mean both the new bed frame and dump bed or just one or the other??
specs are already in the other posts
That's awesome!
thanks, glad you liked it

Can you tell me on how long the lift ram is?I'm planning on building this on my s10 also. Thanks.
+Edward Huwalt i believe it's a 24" stroke 2"bore....i would go with a 2.5" bore though. sometimes i have to help it dump/load it further back
