- I built this ATV trailer with walking suspension because all the trailers out there didn't have what I wanted/needed. I could not find a trailer with doors that I liked, and would carry as large a load as I needed.

This is the best ATV trailer for getting firewood that I have seen. MUTS make a great trailer also with a winch on the front. I prefer a flat bed like ATV WAGON makes. But Steve's trailer is the stongest built I think. Way to go Steve.

You need to sell this design and patent, or start building these to sell. It's the best, most useful trailer I've seen.

Increadibly well thought out and constucted. I thought for sure that it looked too top heavy but your going over uneven terrain proved me wrong. The walking axles put it way above any other atv trailer that I have seen.

Awesome trailer very well thought out and designed the only slight flaw i see is that when it is loaded right up and stacked high with wood it looks pretty top heavy. Its not a big deal just gotta go slow and taker easy around the corners and over the bumps.
Got to say you definatley had your head screwed on right when you designed and built this trailer. Truly, the best design I've seen yet. I love the versatility of the different positions of the tail-gate.Hydraulic system is really handy.I'm going to be moving to Alaska this coming spring and will be outfitting myself there with equipment and would really welcome the addition of this type of trailer.I really would like to see you develop and offer blueprints and material lists for this design.

I really like this trailer design, I built a towable backhoe a couple of years ago and really need something like this to go along with it. I was thinking of converting a Cub lawn mower into a stretch dump truck, but I think all I would have would be a slow light duty little dumper. Plan B I pull my backhoe around most of the time with a 660 Grizzly that has no problem with a load and has a 2" ball hitch as while. So I may borrow some of your idea if you don't mind.

Exelant design and workmanship !! My question is ; was it worth all the costs ??? I know material prices and the like. Will you have that much of a need for this much trailer ??? I use to burn firewood solely for heat so I understand the use there.

Very nice trailer,excellent build quality.i think you could have made it a foot longer,,a full 8 ft would have been even better..you mast have 250 hrs into building this thing...

walking axle 30" from tip to tip tier should be 2 3/4" apart stub axles 6" ( northern tool avt tier and axle kit) .
Looks like that would cost alot to build? Do you have a bill of materials?

If so, what was distance between the bottom of the bed frame and the center of the bed pivot bolt and from top of the main frame down to the center of the pivot bolt on the walking suspension?

This would be great of any Polaris Ranger owner who wants to carry more. @prices1829 to bad you dont build these then sell them heck id buy at least 1 if not 2. For use around the cabin then out hunting. Also how strong are the doors when using them as a ramp? is it needed to finish the inside of the door with metal?, or is the outside enough?

It`s all good but the cops will stop ya for using off road tires on the HWY they go like a dragster at high Speeds short distance maybe these are only 2 ply but works good ,Nicely done .
I might make a aluminum diamond plate tool box on the tongue.racks On side of trailer may get ripped off when traveling through the woods.

yes. the distance between the frame and the bed was not right for the hydraulic piston. when i tested the dump it twisted the 2x2 tube
weight 650lbs. the trailer can hold 2,300lbs+. not for sale (yet) just built it for me.
What is the ID on the box and what is the name and size of hydraulic ,what kind of moter does power the hydraulic and what size tires, can you give me a general information on this unit so i can go buy the parts ??
Oh ya some places they hand you enough tickets , You don`t need bum fluff for a week .
the doors are strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the outside is enough.if you did both sides it would rattle because you could only weld on one side.

Thanks. Yes, the metal was about $500. All in (tires, wheel kit, hydraulics) more like $1700.

I was wondering would you consider a piece of rubber for 6:44 to 6:45 so it doesn't hit or rattle or rub?

@cowchux It may look top heavy, but it is surprisingly stable. No complaints yet....
nice done but i don't understand why you haven't made someting that would be able to twist on the drag if your trailer tips over?

Looks great. I noticed that you changed the design slightly later in the video. An additional 2x2 tube was added under the rear of the bed. Was there a need for the additional bed height?
if i had to rate this trailer 1 to 10 i would give that a 20 that perfect i cant think of one way to improve this, i need one

the bed is centered over the pivot point for the walking beam axle.

Great atv trailer, I like it, very good job, I'd like to make one like yours for my Atv, but in Italy I can use it only on private road.
