  • Gabe Zichermann stopped by the Googleplex for a discussion of his latest book, "Gamification Revolution." You can find the book on Google Play:goo.gl/PfTmn
Gamification: It's the hottest new strategy in business, and for good reason--it's helping leading companies create unprecedented engagement with customers and employees. Gamification uses the latest innovations from game design, loyalty programs, and behavioraleconomics to help you cut through the noise and transform your organization into a lean, mean machine ready to fight the battle for user attention and loyalty.

Awesome! thanks for the talk I am completely on board with the entire idea. My experience with "Capitalism 2" and the new one as well as "Theme Hospital" made me wonder and wish for business education that can be fun. I am going to check out your books and blog.

Good question of the lady at about 45min. "When not to gamify?" Disappointing answer by Gabe at about 46min. "Gamify everything." Of course you say your business idea to gamify is good, but there is some bad or evil (and I thought a motto of Google is "don't be evil") lurking around the corner, which Gabe does not seem to recognize here (perhaps elsewhere he does). Although I have to nuance: it's often the way HOW you gamily. One that warns for that is Jonathan Blow ...

It's plain and simple: games and gamification turn us into oversized 8 year olds. Knowledge paired with real life, unfiltered experience, however, help us become adults.
