Well this tutorial is based on the GO 18 engine which recommends 3-5 seconds. Although the concepts are the same and 3-5 seconds is good for most engines, the difference in 2/3 seconds would be a very minor adjustment on the LSN anyway :)

You have to tune it frequently to avoid getting the ole bog,when u first get it,while its being run in,after its been run in,whenever u get a different batch of fuel,when the fuel starts going stale,if u put more oil in it,if u put less oil in it,if its overheating,if its a hot day,if its a cold day,if someone farts the wrong way e.t.c,and then u get rewarded with a solid 10min runtime before having to refuel and deal with a pull starter again and again,plus stalling upside down,great fun

I did the same after 20 years bought my boy the carnage which sparked my love of RC cars broke it in and tuned it through JT's tutorials had lots of fun with it so bought another for myself they are great for the money
Nah not a problem :) Although you might be surprised to learn that when these things go wrong with cars under warranty, even though I didn't pay for the car, I still expect parts to be replaced by manufacturer free of charge. one is in the post to me, even though I won't use it. I'm using HPI ones now hehe

Hello, i am wondering, how long the batterys in both the reciever and the control last? I have build in my ftx carnage now with the same batterys and am wondering when i need to change them so it does not go plowing into a fence! Thanks
Hope this doesnt soynd real stupid, i own a carnage nt, and its idleling has messed up so i garhered i would put it back to factory carb settings. When its says 3 1/4 turns does this mean 3 and 1/4 turns or 3 1/4 turns, and is 1 turn a full 360 degree of the needle or just 180?
So when in doubt just put everything back to stock settings and try again right? Do all engines give you the factory reset in the manual? Or are all engines relatively the same.
When I start mine up it starts fine. But the revs are to high. I don’t know how to tune the controller on the car to turn the revs down as the car moves on it’s own

I noticed u didnt bother with a temp gauge. Is this cos ur very experienced at nitro or do u still suggest using them? Ive had my tomahawk bx running but one little movement of either of the screws and it decides to have a hissy fit and not start again lol. I thought maybe its overheating after the first run?
@jthornley12 hey have you worked on a Thunder Tiger EB4 S3? I own one but find tuning and modification a bit of a pain, although its a great buggy, very fast indeed!

Hi I’ve got Ftx carnage nt same as the one that your use in, haven’t long bought it of somebody, but for what ever reason I can’t get fuel to go through the pipes and into the carburettor taken pipe of exhaust and blow through it but still no fuel going in can someone please help as son getting one for Xmas and want to use together many thanks
Mike Skinner I had the exact same problem out the box when I bought mine last week. It was my fuel cap not shutting properly so there wasn't any pressure in the pipes whilst trying to prime it. I turned the screw out underneath the cap with an Allen key to slacken the o ring and now it shuts nice and snug! Hope this helps

LOL considering I sold it over 3 years ago, no. I don't have the room to keep cars! They go straight after review. The oldest car I have is the FTX Outrage which I bought only 3 weeks ago. All others go!
Hey man . Love you vids and tutorials . I have hsp warhead and hsp monster . I have recently tried to mod my monster to 2 speed ( like my warhead ) yet when i do so the clutch bell does not spin freely . Everything lines up and fits into place but clutch bell is locked firm . Do you have any tips or tried this yourself ? Any help would be much appreciated . Thanks man . Ian.
check your bearings on the bell and the sprockets of the 2nd and or first speed also maybe you've damaged your diffs with the additional rpm from the gears

Newb alert! Hey guys bout to break in and tune my first nitro and I have one question... On the remote was he adjusting his dual rates or something? I noticed he did it when he was messing with the idle and I was just wondering exactly what was going on
christopher lueras Yeah i know how you feel. Just do research next time you listen to someone on the internet. I recommend you sell it and do some more research into nitro rc. Learn the basics of tuning and trouble shooting. When you are confident you have learned enough see if you can get a hyper 7 or ss ( I have the ss and love it but the hyper 7 maybe more suited for a beginner like me or you ). You can get them second hand cheap but try look for one that has been kept in good shape. Trust me, A quality car will make you like the hobby again, The cheap one may have put you off and i understand that.
Ice bjorn block the exhaust or pinch the fuel line. Hope that helps. If when you block the exhaust and it dosnt turn off. You have an air leak which you need to find
Let the engine warm up. A cold engine does not run the same as when its tuned cause more heat helps the mixture flow and affects combustion. Heat it up and clean out the engine on the box or the stand. Do not tune it when its not warmed up. If its dying then slowly pull the throttle or squeeze the air supply line and give it small revs to clean it out and build some heat. Only then can you tune it.
It seems to over Rev I’ve tryed Adjusting it I’ve done the trim on the remote some times it starts with the remote on and sometimes it will only start with the remote off turn the remote on it dies

you get alot more than 10mins, amd usually after refueling they start within the first couple of pulls if its fine

The second time you pinched the fuel line the engine took a good deal more than 3-5 seconds to choke. Why didn't you retune the mixture then?
Probably because he didnt want to make a long video of turning some mixture screws

It's a Prolux Glow plug igniter :)

lsn 3/4 about from close. hsp 2.5 turns from closed about. Idle 1/16 inch gap.

dfef frf no it’s not tuned from factory. DO NOT LEAN THE ENGINE DURING BREAK IN. turn the idle speed screw counter clockwise.

Hi Andy, it could be too Lean on the low end, or a too high idle. Lower the idle first (CCW). Only touch LSN if you have too :)

try putting your foot under it hold throttle down 25% for about 5 to 6 secends than take glow rench off
