this is a good tip to keep your engine lasting long, after your done running a tank of fuel put the piston at bottom dead center by turning the flywheel. when the engine is hot everything expands and when you leave the piston alone its usually at top dead center or close to it and when it cools down the cylinder wall contracts around the piston. ive been doing this for my k4.6 for years and it still has the same compression since the day i bought the engine.
gas is flowing in, glow plug is still good. will try to work on it more tomorrow its 2 in the morning on the east and i don't think my neighbors would like that. any recommendations for upgrades on this thing. So far i know i need an un body plate and i somehow need to figure out how to get the motor roll cage on. All i can say with that is THANKS hpi for not telling anyone and shipping the same one for the x
@iamcyberpunk68 i dont have any motors laying around as i need any parts for spares. the motor wont run if oyu bore a hole out for a different type of spark plug and the only thing you would need is a new cooing head
@nextdc1985 the roll cage isnt ment to fit the xl just forget it i made an iprov one. i recomend a failsafe, some wider rims/tires a new pipe a spectrum radio 2.4 ghz, also its good to always better drive stafts they r hard to install sometimes but r worth the strength

I didn't run it for like a year and a half so maybe that's the prob. But I will be getting it back next regardless if its fixed or not. I'll just hit you up if anything lol. Keep on truckin'
when i go to tune my car i start with it rich then it just bogs down so i lean it out. it will accelerate better now but still not good. keep on leaning it out and then it seems like its to lean and wont accelerate. seems like there is only a difference of 1/2 turn from to rich to to lean. any ideas?
when taking temp always take it at the glow plug never on the heat sink sides you were probably at 250 + maybe you would have to lean it 1/8th of a turn to make sure you have correct lubrication after that you should of continued the video with the high speed needle , and shifting screws because you shifting is too rapid on the 2 & 3 but besides that good video! appreciate people doing that to help others!!

@nextdc1985 what that needle does it change the mid way so once it start to accelerat at teh speed the low sped says then the mid wal wil reg. that mid point. u dont wanna touch that bc its really easy for that to make the car over heat from lack og fuel whle speeding up
@iamcyberpunk68 Well you cannot put weedwacker plugs in the first place u will need a new engine head because u tapped it out the plugs burn at a totally diff heat bc thoaue r only made for gasoline and not nitro

Hey I noticed that your ROLL CAGE is for a Savage X 4.6, I bought that too because there wasn't one for the XL. My question is, how did you manage to fit the roll cage in the back part? Quick question if anyone can help. On the high speed needle there is the black sleeve making it adjustable by hand. You can move it up and down a bit or make it flush with the flat head portion of the needle. What is thr propor position of this sleeve, slightly pulled up over the needle, flush or slightly pulled down. Thanks
there is a line on the brass sleeve that you will see if you unscrew the black plastic knob. base setting is the bottom of the black plastic knob lined up with the line on the brass.
im getting this truck in 2 days. im getting it used off of RCU for 300 the truck is rtr and in good shape barely used. he says it does need to be tuned so should i just do what you did in this video? oh and im pretty sure your from new york and do you live in long island

But it works perfectly fine with the roto start... and its actually a bran new bearing i got about 4 tanks ago. I dont see how it would be ruined.. ive made sure its dry so its not slipping.. when i use the roto start its perfectly fine. But the drill just doesnt seem to do anything.

@1980KNIGHTRIDER the percentage is the amount of of nitro compound in the fuel mixture. 20% is what you want to use, any less and the car won't work at its best, and any more is just a waste of money

For some reason my drill does NOT work with my savage... It seems to just spin but not grab...i do have it spinning in the same direction as the roto start yet it seems to just not crank the motor over. ive tried it with both my 1st and 2nd speed on my drill and it just doesnt seem to crank... then i put the rod on the roto start and then suddenly its working... ohh well.... good tutorial
Hey, I have a reeeeally big problem with my Savage X 4.1! The engine stops at full throttle. Its seriously not the main fuel screw. Trust me, I've tried that! Ive also tried different plugs. Theres no hole in the fuel lines, I've checked that. And when I give the car to the store i got it from to fix it, they say they've fixed it and "its now working", i pay them, i come home - it dosent work. Obviously they cant fix it either. Pleeease give me a respawn!

@Elvar96 umm reset a needles base check for any airleaks with soapy water tighten all scews on the engine make sure hte pipe is attached well

so like when u get it outta the box do u just break it in with the factory setting on the HS, and the LS???
its a small thing but always temp straight down hitting the glow plug if you temp on the side of the cooling head you will get a false low reading fyi

you should tune your high speed needle 2.5-3 turns out from closed. thats probably easier to understand.

When you check the temp check it at the glow plug not the external fins.
I may swap my revo 3.3 for one of these.

@savagejunkie96 no offense bro, but it would be a hpi. You only use an if the word following it has a vowel for the first letter.
low speed should be tested from 0 to 50% throttle or basically acceleration from the start and idle is self-explanatory
