So, the only way I can think of how to defeat this is to vote blue and if successful, reverse the policy, and un-ban the banned books. Short of that, maybe banned books could be kept by librarian, and only given access to minors demonstrating parent's permission, which would probably require policy change from a blue majority!
Why fix what isn't broken? Schools have ALWAYS had a rule that parents could send a list of books their children could not check out to the librarian. This way the students who want to read the books have access to them. Libraries are the bastions of freedom FROM censorship. If you don't like a book just don't check it out. Problem solved!

There are no book bans, these books you talk of are openly on sale on Amazon should anyone wish to purchase them.
