Denon is massive. I've compared new CDJ with the pioneer 3000. It sounds much better from my point of view. It has a great Jogg etc.. the only problem are the CUE and PLAY buttons. You have to push it much harder that the pioneer's.
I'm a professional wedding DJ, and I'm pretty glad the haptics of the PLAY and CUE button are a bit harder to press. I've had it sometimes where I accidentally pushed the PLAY button on my old Traktor controller and the music was gone. Since then I never had any problems with my PRIME 4.
Does the Prime 4+ display BPM & other track info on the Jog wheels or is it still the same display as the Prime 4?
Has it got Bluetooth?

I’m planning on buying one or the other in the next 12 months. For me I think I’m leaning towards the prime. Xz is only true 2 channel. So for me that’s a big deal. Depends what you want out of it
For me the light controller is a no brainer alone, and just to ad insult to injury at the competitors, zoom function, the price, zone output, more usb slots, sata hd board, Sd slot, 3 band eq in the microphone, sleek black finish, white VU leds, sampler, bigger better jogwheels, 10" full touch screen, 4 channels, wifi, bluetooth, key change, STEMS, key and bpm standalone analysing, "Infinite" EFX support, and EFX that actually are usable and FUN, Frequency mixing, adjustment suite in the setup for almost everything on the controller. Engine 3.1 software / firmware (FUTURE PROOF), battle-proven track record and hardware, lots of Prime 4 that still are around and works perfect
I use whatever hardware that elevates my performance. I have owned most gear under the sun and now it looks i'm back in the Denon booth

Damn! Would really like a Prime 2+ if it was an option. I don't need 4 channels. I'm so confused on what controller I should buy next. I like having the ability to bypass a laptop but this one seems over kill for my needs. First world problems

The 4+ is a real nice piece of kit for sure but i really liked the Prime 2, kinda hope this gets out in the wild again but maybe the reason its not been available for a while is they are working on a mk2 version :)

No they won't. They are better but people prefer Pioneer. But I do prefer Denon as I am already locked in with Engine dj

Same but I’ve got a Traktor S8! I’ve been with Traktor since 2012, but I’m done with them now! Traktor Pro 2/Traktor 3 that takes 10 Years is a disgrace… Time to move on 👍🏾
@@TRIBECHIEFTAIN I'm really struggling with this decision. I can't mix on the S5 anymore. It just doesn't set me up for success. But I like having four channels so I'm really set on the Prime 4+. But 2 grand is just an irresponsible financial decision for my situation. I'm trying to talk myself into it being a reward for my successful sobriety. But, it'd still be irresponsible. Lol
@@bogoodski I don't know if you made a choice yet, but just as a personal anecdote, I had bought the regular Prime 4 a year ago, and in terms of bang for buck, it's by far one of the best purchases I've made. I had mixed on my friends S4 for years before, compared to any other All-In-One I think it's heads and shoulders above. Wish I could afford the plus, but Denon's updates are going to make these last for a while.
A different color wave form would be perfect. I can tolerate the green blue but prefer other combo. Instead maybe white light blue/ dark blue or red/blue/ darker blue etc def something else.

Like a few people have said this is a very early alpha build just to show us it’s coming. When it’s released properly will it be as good as serato or Vdj probably not. Will it be good enough to use, probably. Props to engine team for even getting this out on a standalone.
Props to the Engine team for upgrading the firmware and making in both better and solid for every update. Older gear are still relevant. The buy, wear and throw away mentality are gone, thanks!

I’ve been looking into this product, but some threads referring to Denon prime have said the buttons (cue and play mainly are the culprits) break. The switches aren’t made well. Is this better? Because it’s pricey for something which risks failing.
I also recognized it on the trigger pads,but youcan set it to react emidietly as you want
The switches are exactly the sam as in every other product. Those push buttons beneath are a generic product. Pioneer and Denon use the same small switches

Still don’t understand why nobody has commented on the fader meter’s led’s 🤷🏻♂️ whoever thought blinding white lights were a good idea needs firing, I’ve literally put tape over the top of mine and colored it in green, the previous meters were way more appropriate. This should be an option, please Denon add this feature.

So what happened with stems crossing over to the SC6000 players?
I brought this unit and the SC Live 4 too and I'm send them back , well the Prime 4+. I found myself looking down while at my shows and Oh man don't hit a weak wifi signal where songs are taking 3-4 minutes to download. As a all night mixing DJ I found my playing songs too long trying download stuff and looking threw Amazon, Tidal, SD card etc. Then you can't see the BPM until it's downloaded. 2nd wedding I had a blast as the music was all pre downloaded. Next show was full of request and this thing slowed me was down with one time me using my Ipad to play a song as the wifi locked up and was asking for passwords and wouldn't connected. Finally Reconnected with the wifi and everything was pretty fast again and I carry my own wifi box. I found it took me away from what I love about DJ'n, the people. I might just keep the SC Live 4 for smaller not heavy mixing events. Great Idea but for now I'll mostly stick to my new MacBook Pro's
Would like to know how to connect to computer and practice through the speakers.

Denon\InMusic needs to sort out it's support - especially when it comes to updating drivers for older controllers - because at the moment, *it sucks harder than the engine of a C-5M Super Galaxy!!!*

Is the touchscreen made of plastic or glass? I hope glass, like an iPad. Glass can be cleaned well. Plastic can scratch easily.

Hi Jamie and other viewers. How is the sound of the sound effects compare to Pioneer? With a Pioneer XDJ-XZ for example, you can switch on and off the lows, mids and highs under the small beat FX screen to adjust the impact of the effects. And how is the reaction time when you switch between the FX's with the scroll button? It was a little slow on the Prime 4. Thanks in advance!

Live Beat Grid edit is crazzzzyyy. I use that feature a fair bit on the Prime GO. Seriously redic how seamless and easy it is.
And the touch effects are Redic as well! Other DJs be geeking when they see me utilizing the touch effects.

I'm on the fence between one of these and an xdj rx3 and this thing seems like it's way better. Only reason I'm seeing to go with the pioneer is because ""club standard"
On this one effects do not work on an external source ( line or phono ). Otherwise it is a good standalone but for me it cuts the pleasure of using it by half and for that reason I will wait foe XDJ-XZ to be available again.

i love denon stuff. it's what i have. but i don't think this is a good marketing strategy by denon. by now there are a FEW softwares which do a great job with stems. denon should have better software engineers

You know these Engineers work for Denon, Rane, Alesis, Maudio, Marantz, Numark, Sonivox, Mixmeister, Ion, Air, Headrush, Marq, to name a few, right?
I think, they have all their bases covered, however Alpha Theta (Pioneer) have a serious problem on their hands

not in the least bro I'm brand new to Engine coming from Serato since its inception not all my crates came over in the engine dj but they are in the collection which makes no sense no one can tell me why it happened and 4 of the grates I NEED to have!!!
Denon says that the inside or guts of prime 4 and 4+ are the same but since 2019 electronic components like cpu have improved I wonder if stem not going to be better. Or other features comming for + only

@@martinandersson9712 Was just a bit of sarcasm and how it seems they keep getting bigger and bigger. I own a DDJ800, which is just the right size for me. If I need a step stool to get to the top part of a controller, then things are getting a bit out of hand, imo.
Surprised they even considered stems for the Prime 4. I can’t believe it has enough processing power for it. Bodes well for Denon that they’re considering it and not just pushing their new products.
There are still hardware that has not been revealed yet i'm certain, like Wifi was with the Prime 4

Buy a Prime 4 or Opus quad, learn to mix on TWO channels and when you feel ready just open up 3 or 4 channels without having to buy new hardware, I WOULD, but i already owned 4 or more "Top of the line" Cdjs and that can not compete with this!, the reach i to long and all the buttons are to small for a real performance

Features are great but ultimately the inputs we use the most….the rubber play/cue buttons are a deal breaker for me…needs to be like Pioneer with metal buttons for faster response
Denon needs to stop introducing new features nobody wants ans start FIXING their engine OS library app, which is, in a wortd - horrible. It is not possible to separate 2 channel content into stems without introducing all kinds of audio-ruining artifacts. Native Instruments even did this the right way - with ASTUAL stems created by the content creators - and guess what! Nobody cared. Nobody adopted it , even when executed in exactly the right way. Theres a very small section of the overall landscape of DJs out there that has any interest whatsoever in pushing the envelope in terms of effects and nonsense in their DJ sets - some of its laziness, but the majority is that its just too much shit on top of shit on top of shit and when youre doing all this crap over fully produced music, you really shouldnt need it. Vibe out with your programming and selection, not noise blasts and ''drops'. Im all for innovation but FIX the fundamentalsm first. Ill be moving to pioneer.. sad to day because I think the denon hardware is wildly superior and I love mixing on them

Well said.i bought the prime 4+ last week friday,because i thought i can use one deck with Stems,but it wasn't working after wasting over 10 hours to search for a solution on the web,till i called Music Store and sent them an Email and they then replied me on Wednesday, and told me that the influencer djs on RUclips Spielerei it bit Stems isn't ready to go yet bit it will be in the next 3 months,so i am still thinking about to return it and get my money back and keep on using my turntables and buy a new mixer after selling my Pioneer DJM S9. I will stay tunes and hope for the Stems to come in the next weeks otherwise i might send it back and find something else. But is not easy to decide cause i already imorted my Serato Playlists to Engine Dj 3.01 and analyzed them again in engine Playlist and bought 1 TB USb Stick to export my playlists to it. We will see how i will decide. Thx for the vdeo

Stems are not the be all end all kind of thing, it's just one more weapon in your arsenal, that's it. overused and it will ruin your sets, just like using to much EFX or filter.
I'm going to order a setup for sure, but i already had DJM 900 / NXS2 and CDJ 2000/2KNXS2 and CDJ 3000, XDJ RX2, 3 and so on.

I'm thinking of sending mines back too and I brought both the Prime4+ and the SC LIVE 4 for my DJ company. Had one good show with it using downloaded music but once I had to open it up and go on line things changed. Don't get a weak wifi signal and start seeing a song taking 4 minutes to download and then you try to change wifi mid show and I carry my own wifi box. I also found myself looking down at this thing more then looking at my dance floor engaging the party. I think this stuff is mostly for us DJ's and that's cool as I love tech, but our dance floors would rock just as hard with turntables or our favorite controller as long as we're confutable on the tool we're using and that night I wasn't. Been DJ'n professionally for over 35 years and pretty much have had every controller out there. This Denon Prime 4+ is pretty incredible just not for me. Lucky I had just ordered a $399 case for it but it hadn't shipped and I was able to cancel it in time. Good luck with yours.

I just exported over 350GB Musik from my MacBook Pro to USB to have all my Songs to be able to work standalone without using my MacBook.
I did a Tiktok Livestream yesterday with the Prime 4+, but the sound through the master out with a cinch/aux cable and an Microphone adapter was too loud during the settings, so I lowered the volume wide down to have kind of audio quality for people to stream.
But I think the problem is my usb-c adapter with aux out I just bought for my Samsung phone. So need to find my self a better Adapter or another soundcard for 24 Bit recording.
@@masterpdj2623I don’t understand your complaint here? A weak wifi signal would impact your streaming of Music irrespective of the equipment you’re using - so why single out the Prime4 in this case? It’s not like it’s a streaming-only device.
as usual Denon is far behind the Industry leaders of Pioneer and Rane. Denon stems not perfected and only on touch screen and not on pads like the competition, , jog wheels to small, even Virtual DJ is far ahead of Denon with stems. Denon has no moving platters controller to compete with Rane one and Pioneer Rev 7. It should be called "Prime 4 minus" If Denon continues to come out of what the future holds and not what the present has, they will continue to be followers and not leaders in the Industry. Just the Facts.

Are you serious ? This is a standalone unit…wich other standalone unit is better in your oppinion ? Off course you can’t compare with programs such as Serato dj, Virtual Dj and recordbox, as this is not standalone. But you can use both serato and virtual dj on this as well.

Hey, man. I agree that it's not ideal to put STEMS controls only on the screen, so hopefully they will add them to the Pads as well with 4 STEMS just like Serato before they release it to the public. Denon do have moving platters with SC6000M if you want that, but there's also Rane Twelve mkII if you prefer fullsize platters. My favorite unit for STEMS is RANE FOUR right now. It has the best build quality and features in my opinion. Just so you know, Rane and Denon have the same owner - InMusic. And I have really high expectations for the Engine software in the future. I hope they will eventually catch up to Serato with STEMS, Video, Pitch 'n Time and Flip to become the industry standard.
If Rane is "Industry leader" there's no problem as INMUSIC owns them all, including Denon and Alesis that makes the performance pads for most Dj equipment known to man
