      I don't think it could be the steams in real time because it should have an apple M1/M2 type processor or an Nvidia rtx graphics card and I don't think these units have that much power, virtual dj to work well (if not leave the steams alone in time real) needs a lot of power and also serato

    Curious as to what the big reveal will be. My guess is the DRM Chip is compatible with spotify or other big name streaming services. Which IMO is a MASSVE deal. This would absolutely put Denon screaming ahead of pioneer if they can do something like an SC6000+. Having Proper Spotify integration would absolutely be a game changer for mobile DJ's and taking requests.

    I'm ok with the small jogs, but was expecting a more club style oriented mixer, like that on the SC Live 4, or with paddles at least since these have become quite popular. The fx controls per deck are a pain and a mess to work with.

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  Год назад +2

      They are "classic" style FX controls, but to the plus side, they are far more flexible than paddles.

    • @JK-ej9xq
      @JK-ej9xq Год назад

      For me the FX controls are gold, if you use Stems in Virtual DJ you can use them with the FX controls without touching the equalizer, is basically the same way as seen on the FLX-10

    • @efrn007
      @efrn007 Год назад +1

      I have the DDJ-1000. For me, the club style layout is better because I can use the pads in conjuction with the mixer fx and the crossfader with a single hand while controlling the left deck with the other hand. I have made killer transitions with this technique. That's something you can't do with the fx in the upper side of the decks. But I understand, from a software controller perspective, and not focusing on standalone mode, the fx controls on each deck are a better choice. We will see if the secret feature is reason enough to buy this new unit.

I am fixated on getting a cheap standalone unit that my nephews can also play with, definitely don't want to be introducing the idea of a laptop / phone / everything else as a music source and a controller being separate.
    This is way out of the budget I'm thinking of, especially with it being just an add-on for me and something I don't want to feel overly precious about letting them use, but it's great to see more standalone gear! Would love to see more videos on that topic along with some of the most budget oriented options!

      So I've had to rethink the whole standalone idea and a cheap controller is looking very attractive now, to just let them use it when I'm around or wipe and donate an old phone as the host device. Kinda sucks to introduce that complexity and everything else, but lots of good options for super basic controllers that are cheap and/or easy to fix if they smash it up.

    I was wondering when DENON would update the Prime 4. Don't get me wrong... because even though I bought my P4 when it originally came out, I've felt like I was getting a brand new unit every time they updated Engine, but it's a lot harder for that original unit to stand out next to all the shiny new gear that the competition have released.
    I like the refinements to the design... it looks a lot sleeker. I also like the fact that I won't have to get a new case or decksaver should I decide to upgrade because the footprint is ostensibly the same. As for the big reveal, I'm betting on Stems as it's the one big selling feature the others have over Engine gear. If they can implement Stem Separation on the same level that VDJ does them, and have it on a standalone unit, then that's a game changer and would clearly put DENON/Engine DJ in a class by themselves.

    Hello Digital DJ Tip, I do enjoy watching you're in depth content and analysis, ...I wonder if you could explain via a video how to manually re-take control of a Denon prime 4 when you start to do a mix using the 'sync' button, at some point during the mix and you want to plus or minus the speed you are currently playing at the Denon unit appears to be non- responsive, but, the channel that is unused next to the channel you are currently playing a file on responds to the pitch slider for the track actually playing, you can see the pitch indicator number move (increase/decrease) but the playing channel stays at the original pitch without increasing/decreasing, experimenting with the pitch control slider you have to make an extreme movement of the fader to the top or bottom with the slider to appear to 'jog' and take back control of the BPM, I think they may call this 'soft takeover', sorry this is a converluted explaination but its difficult to describe unless you experience it, ...it has made me try to use the unit and DJ without the sync button to develop personal skills but I would like it visually explained if possible, thank you

      @@kmyeaa No problem. What's meant by "seamless source transition" is the ability to go from one source of music to another without disruption or cessation. The XDJ XZ & RX3 are capable of this (ei; go from USB stick to software platform uninterrupted). The Prime 4, which arguably is a better standalone DJ system can't do that. If you're on a USB and want to go to an SD Card or Serato (Computer Mode), the music will stop. That's the one caveat most DJ's have with the Prime 4. Denon claims there's a feature on the Prime 4+ that no other unit (including the Prime 4) possesses. My money is on "seamless source transition".

    So this has effectively the same exact internals as the initial prime 4.
    Denon opted to adjust the aesthetics only and do a PR hint at a future update but only for prime 4 plus owners but not prime 4 owners. Despite the hardware apparently being identical?
    Increase the price over the initial prime 4 for what exactly?
    Was hoping for physical tension adjustment on the jogs, better screen, or user serviceable faders, even better hardware for faster onboard analyzation.
    Seems somewhat like a move Pioneer would do, a new controller with two new buttons added… wow what a game changer!
    Personal observations aside, the aesthetic looks good and would match nicely next to a sc6000.

But I’m understanding this to be the equivalent to a car facelift, to sell as many of the old platform as possible before the ground up brand new new model is released. So for example the mark 7vw golf, they’ll release a “midlife” 7.5 facelift and then not long after they’ll release the mark 8 vow golf that’s a new different chassis, new tech, new interior, different exterior design, more economical, different engines etc.

I strongly doubt that Denon has put such a powerful processor to be able to make stems in real time with a quality at least equal to that of its current competitors (which work on PCs). then if instead he succeeds, so be it.

It seems to be a marketing tool that fits perfectly with the You Tube space in order to get their products back into consciousness whilst doing the smallest amount of work possible. Buy a Prime 4 thus they shift stagnating stock, buy a plus possibly attracting new users. A Prime 5 would kill the 4 which isn’t the idea at all.
