It is still the best. I get the marketing and reason for adding the +. This unit is a really good pro-gear that was only missing a new chip which the + has. That will make future enhancements possible that are not on the Prime4. On the other hand I understand the dissapointment of not seeing a brand new design which could be "Prime 4 Pro" or another Prime name with larger wheels. But as it is..there is nothing much this cannot do and they are leading ALL competitions already so why waste $ on designing an already great product. Love the updates..
And I need a billion dollars because my 500 million is not enough me. Fuck, we got the best gear on the market right now, for the ridiculous price of $2,300. There's never been anything like it in the past. You get all the Engine OS upgrades for free. But it's not enough for you... you want all the whistles and bells at once and immediately. A lot of customers are just plain ungrateful idiots.
@@djmartinsk 1) Tag system is not a whistle or bell, it's the main navigation if you are a truely flexible dj - for many age groups and preferences. Not all of us stay in the club and bounce between 2 genres only. I see people who constantly buy new music but don't even use what they have because they don't know how to tag music. It is not wrong to say that selection can be up to 90% of all the dj work in a live-situation. Doing the selection live is what makes me feel alive and that feeling is delivered to the people. Clubbing is not the only way for dj-s, the world is much wider, take your time and have a look.
Considering how on point InMusic has been with their brands lately, It wouldn't surprise me if the next update is gonna be amazing. They're killing it with Akai, Denon gear has been improving in leaps, i like how solid their hard and software is to a point it has replaced all the Pioneer gear in my studio. I'm very curious to see what's coming next.
I don't think there will be any new hardware this year. The software needs updating much much more first and the new owners at NI clearly made this their priority.
The reason I moved to serato about for years ago. Before that, I was an hardcore traktor user for 15 years. NI just seem to completely lose interest in Traktor and it's customer base.
I just want to search the playlist not the entire library like how you can do it in serato. My next feature is to switch between standalone and laptop seamlessly like on the pioneer xdi rx3
Oh I forgot to add, it’s in the setup options to reduce the noise generation so the Noise Gate effect can have the level you’d like. Try reducing that a little.
I was hoping to hear something at NAMM 2024 in regards to a New Prime 2+ or anything Denon DJ gear related. Bummer.. Still going to hold out this year to see if my wishes come true. If not, I have a few options. 1. Prime 4+, Pioneer Dj RX3. Rane 4 or DDJ FLX10. Wallet is standing by
the only thing missing as lighting already was implemented to create the perfect Streaming Controller is mb a Coop with Blackmagic to create a Prime4 Stream! with HDMI Inputs and Outputs for Twicht and live Video Streaming Sessions. That would be a Killer. But i think thats not realistic sadly as willbe too expensive and BM is not part of the Inmusic Company. In Opposite to that i could imagine as they bought Arkaos that there will be a live Feature to control Arkaos or even do it live inside the unit with an external HDMI Out Box or something like that. That would make sense and make a difference on the market. Sadly they didnt develop further the Resolume Coop which is obviously the much better Software then Arkaos in many Points. Just the CPU in the + then need to be massivly stronger then in the P4 and im not sure if that makes sense from a Bussines Stanpoint about Production Costs.
Hi . I have a SC LIVE 4. How do I prepare the list on the standalone ( no laptop) . And how to include the samplers in the songs I am mixing ? New to djing, it might be a novice question, but I liked your video, so I thought I'll ask . Thanks
Unfortunately I followed advice and updated, well last night had a wedding and what a failure it was froze 3 times, screen issues, playing with no visuals at one point played 3 songs at once while all were off.
Im using prime go and prime 2, i would like to have a feature where u will be able to Annalise the whole hardrive with folders instead of creating playlist.
I thought the added Sampler would allow you to Record Samples on the fly. That would’ve been so much better since no other Controllers offer that feature.
The only thing Denon can do right now to get rid of this version of the prime 4 is to give it spinning jog wheel i am waiting on that thought it would come dot no still waiting 😂 Who says spinning jog wheel??
For standalone future something with moving platters or incorporated into a mixer for dvs/rane 12 input Alternatively, given what in music have accomplished creating a great standalone experience across the board on relatively cheap hardware, full blown serato/engine/rekordbox on a dedicated hardware tablet. I.e. a bolt on to make any controller standalone
I can't help but be disappointed. The Prime 4 was a great release, but it was missing the Standalone Sampler function and split cue button and after they added it to engine 3.0, I was really hoping to see a Sampler button to replace the Slicer Loop on the next piece of hardware they released. I'll stay on the fence until they release the new unspoken feature. Again to recap, great Standalone, just barely missing the mark to begin with, and a reskin with an Amazon music chip doesn't even have the wow factor of the original.
Split Cue button is in the center next to the Sweep FX. Accessing Sampler is to double-tap Roll twice, which occupies an empty inventory slot where otherwise Slicer Loop is accessed by double-tapping Slicer button twice.
Great video, very well explained! I need help. For many years, I have owned pioneer(s) with serato, I do mobile DJ, clubs, and events (pool parties and festivals where they always provide equipment) I see Denon Prime 4, Pioneer Xdj xr3, and I am debating which to buy, I see Denon works with Serato and Engine standalone, Xdj xr3 with, Serato Rekordbox and is standalone. I keep hearing that Denon Prime 4 is one of the best in the market now, but I don't know if it will be an easy transition from Pioneer equipment to the Prime. My question is, which one do you guys recommend buying, because it is time for me to upgrade my equipment.
The first Standalone to NAIL the Stems is going to be very disruptive. Engine dj would be smart to make this happen . Being able to load a STEM FILE and make stem files on the fly would be dope as hell . Maybe the making part gets done on the computer. Oh ya and just give us the RGB on the tracks … everyone has it .. its pretty standard at this point .
If Native Instruments would actually utilize the stems system they developed years ago rather than kill the most effective ways to use it on their platform they would've had a major leg up...
@@TheBraveBlaze the issue why NI failed is that they put the cart in front of the donkey…. Had they nailed a STEM making algorithm that allowed users to make their own stems from stereo tracks and then released the STEM player I think it would of been a real game changer. But NI has the bad reputation of making things that have potential that are left to die . Look at the maschine plus as a big example … it’s an overpriced midi controller at the end of the day . For it to be effective you still need to complete tracks with a computer attached… bake (vst ) all the tracks as audio back out them back into the unit for it to be a viable live playback instrument. Fred again makes that thing look like the best thing since slides bread . When in reality it’s under powered and hasn’t been popular enough for them to even have rumours of a MK2 in 3 years . And even when they have hit gear they just move on to the next thing. The Kontrol D2 was a favourite amongst tons of DJs … Carl cox … chus & ceballos are still playing on those units and yet NI hasn’t made a new version since it’s launch date in 2015 ! I was a NI fanboy for the longest time they just pivoted too hard into their toy controllers for new djs . And I hear rumours that NI is looking to sell the DJ division. So I’m not really paying attention to NI . It’s too bad
Dedicated programmable buttons for extra shortcut capability. Map them to whatever we want to extend our gear further. So if we want stems or no, we have that option to map it.
Mojaxx, would like to see the stand alone to have their version of stems. I thought the new update would give me the option to have serato control but I want the option at lest or give me stems…
I have a gut feeling Denon will be releasing a more subdued GO version especially after dropping them old school play and cue buttons on the last model which still has me wondering why they wouldn't have done so back then which would have made them perfect and not just almost.
@Mojaxx will you be posting a video on the FX implementation for the SC6000 players? Really curious how that works. As for standalone, I think Denon has nailed it, for Pioneer they need to fix their terribly outdated browser and search, it's so bad they almost force you to create playlists which is not how I play.
I’ve owned the Prime 4 for 4 years and love it. I’ve only had to replace the crossfader. However I have 2 questions I’m hoping you can answer as you have the hardware: 1) Are the channel faders changeable? 2) Please tell me the pads may look like the ones on the SCLive, but they are velocity pads not ‘click’ pads. The pads on the SC just click and they’re horrible 😢
Pads in Prime4+ is normal (Akai style) pads. Not a microswitches pads, like in SC Live series consoles. Channel faders is not changeable! In case of damage, they are replaceable in the authorized service. Prime 4 is not club style mixer, with user-replaceable channel faders. Any standalone console or MIDI software controller has not user-replaceable channel faders. Channel faders on the Prime4+ are of higher quality, than on the older Prime 4 model.

On the other hand I understand the dissapointment of not seeing a brand new design which could be "Prime 4 Pro" or another Prime name with larger wheels. But as it is..there is nothing much this cannot do and they are leading ALL competitions already so why waste $ on designing an already great product. Love the updates..
i would like to see more standalone official customisations, like different feet or themes for the OS
I love the touch fx brilliant from Denon
1) we need a simple tag system. 2) we need to be able to convert comments into tags, since some have put weeks of work into this.
Still waiting on anything decent from TRAKTOR..!!
i feel left away since traktor d2
I don't think there will be any new hardware this year. The software needs updating much much more first and the new owners at NI clearly made this their priority.
Every month, it's "we're working on stems, but here's a new drum pattern that most of you will never use". Totally ready to jump ship to Serato.
@@DJShaiGuy It's coming.
And anyway, we want flexible beatgrids before stems.
Does the beat fx and color fx apply to the external inputs this time? The only reason I got the xdj-xz because I wan't to applay fx to my vinyl tunes.
I own a Denon Prime 4 and a Prime Go. I want to be able to ditch my computer for music management. Just want to be able to do everything stand alone!
I wanna see motorized platters on the standalone controllers for the next generation
It would be nice if they would have USB-C inputs. What about stems! Did they add it yet?
Stems is what I'm waiting for 😊
how do you apply the effects to vinyl if you've connected a turntable? How do you input bpm of a record?
Oh I forgot to add, it’s in the setup options to reduce the noise generation so the Noise Gate effect can have the level you’d like. Try reducing that a little.
What’s the happy dance track ID during initial FX demos please?
The main track played throughout is "Rivales" by DJ Rebel
When I double tap roll my samples don't come up.What am I doing wrong?
Still hoping for a daylight mode!! I need that 😝
Day Light mode will be in next update, maybe 3.2.0 or next... comming soon
Does it have bluetooth built in now, so can use bluetooth headphones and speakers?
Hi . I have a SC LIVE 4. How do I prepare the list on the standalone ( no laptop) . And how to include the samplers in the songs I am mixing ? New to djing, it might be a novice question, but I liked your video, so I thought I'll ask . Thanks
Does the Engine 3.1software support offline mode with Beatport Link & Beatsource?
What about effecting the input line?
Wish they had that engine OS in a IPad version since they said MCX 8000 is part of the engine Eco system. IJS!
Where did u purchase ur aftermarket knobs?
Brilliant review!
A magical - for the ones who use it BIG question: Will the 4+ support Resolume as well as the P4 did?
Unfortunately I followed advice and updated, well last night had a wedding and what a failure it was froze 3 times, screen issues, playing with no visuals at one point played 3 songs at once while all were off.
Im using prime go and prime 2, i would like to have a feature where u will be able to Annalise the whole hardrive with folders instead of creating playlist.
Standalone with moving platters $$$
I thought the added Sampler would allow you to Record Samples on the fly. That would’ve been so much better since no other Controllers offer that feature.
The only thing Denon can do right now to get rid of this version of the prime 4 is to give it spinning jog wheel i am waiting on that thought it would come dot no still waiting 😂 Who says spinning jog wheel??
For standalone future something with moving platters or incorporated into a mixer for dvs/rane 12 input
Alternatively, given what in music have accomplished creating a great standalone experience across the board on relatively cheap hardware, full blown serato/engine/rekordbox on a dedicated hardware tablet. I.e. a bolt on to make any controller standalone
Why not give regular size knobs for treble mids n low
Great review sir
Hold on... so these effects are also on the SC5000 and SC6000?
correct
@@djason_music Damn, that's wild. Thanks for the reply!
For many years, I have owned pioneer(s) with serato,
I do mobile DJ, clubs, and events (pool parties and festivals where they always provide equipment)
I see Denon Prime 4, Pioneer Xdj xr3, and I am debating which to buy, I see Denon works with Serato and Engine standalone, Xdj xr3 with, Serato Rekordbox and is standalone. I keep hearing that Denon Prime 4 is one of the best in the market now, but I don't know if it will be an easy transition from Pioneer equipment to the Prime.
My question is, which one do you guys recommend buying, because it is time for me to upgrade my equipment.
@@djstuc thank you!
New hardware but nothing on thier website?
@@DvRadio416nailed it. I was specifically referencing the D2 too
Dedicated programmable buttons for extra shortcut capability. Map them to whatever we want to extend our gear further. So if we want stems or no, we have that option to map it.
when prime 4 + will be delivry for market?
Can you please help me, any website out there where i can buy ??
Please where can I find those pink color knobs on prime go????
Those are from Coolorcaps.
Mojaxx, would like to see the stand alone to have their version of stems. I thought the new update would give me the option to have serato control but I want the option at lest or give me stems…
Think the track being used during the FX demos is DJ Rebel Rivales instrumental, anyone where i can but this track?
It's available to stream everywhere and for purchase from Beatport
Hi was wondering if the sc5000m got the update?
Yep!
Any ETA on when the Prime 4+ will be available?
June 29th.
Jeez bro, been a while since I dropped in a you’ve lost hella weight 👏🏻👏🏻
OK, but since this is released, how long until they come out with updated 6000+ players?
Denon owning pioneer… again…
Oh btw... Are the Play / Cue buttons rubber on P4+ ?
any luck on the new fx on the x1850 mixer?
Possibility to have software to add automatic cue points would also be a nice feature to have
Beatbreak effect is on the dn x1600 as well , nearly 15 years ago
I never played with that, so it’s news to me! Good to know.
As for standalone, I think Denon has nailed it, for Pioneer they need to fix their terribly outdated browser and search, it's so bad they almost force you to create playlists which is not how I play.
it's the exact same as what he shows in the "touchscreen fx" portion of this video :)
@@djmartinsk thanks for sharing this information - much appreciated 👍
stems for my prime 4 without using the laptop and or serato or virtual dj. thats what i wanna see. im waitting for it. because the prime 4 does everything else. stems Stem STEMS! Denon, Stems! then i think the prime 4 would be the killer stand alone...i mean to me it already is but if we add stems to the stand alone...no need for laptop and or serato. i love not having to lug around my laptop but ive been intrested in the stems feature and so ive been playing with that. But i dont like the wave forms for serato...really confusing to me since ive gotten use to engine os and now i have to get use to serato! ughhh. PLease Denon i beg for stems.....Mojack, put in a good word for me please. thanks again bro..just updated and gonna go play around! lol
The KING of @allinone systems. PIONEER, sorry, but u are at the second time underdog
Serato on one deck and stand-alone on the other
Do you think there will be a prime 2+? 🤔
You're the man!!!
What was the music on the “main fx demo”?
The main track played throughout is "Rivales" by DJ Rebel
